Gonna miss you- part 2
Wazgood529 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2885 "Gonna miss you" where Henry does return 10 years later and Neal is grown up. He has continued sword fighting to prove to Henry he can be a knight.
Henry grinned as he soared through the portal, back onto home turf. He looked around and sighed, content. Storybrooke hadn't changed in the year he had been away, exploring the realms. He couldn't wait to tell his family of all his adventures. Especially little Neal. He was so excited to see his little uncle. He bet he had grown at least a foot. Before he could set off for their home, he heard someone gasp. He looked behind him and saw a young man, about his own age. He seemed strangely familiar, but Henry was sure he had never met him before.
"Sorry, can I help you?" Henry asked him politely. The guy seemed shook.
"Henry?" He croaked. Henry nodded.
"Um, yeah…have we met?" He asked. Now the man seemed angry.
"You promised you'd come back." He said. "You promised. It's been ten years!" Henry just about fell over on the street.
"What?" He gasped. "No, that's not right…I've only been gone a year…"
"Trust me, it's been ten." The young man hissed. "I felt every single one of them." Henry peered closer, and realised why the man looked so familiar. He just couldn't quite believe it.
"Neal?" He asked. The young man stayed silent. "Neal, is it really you?" Neal nodded briskly. Henry's heart sank. He truly thought it had been only one year. There must have been a vast time difference between the realms. If only he had known. Before Henry could attempt to explain himself, there was a great roar from above. Immediately, Neal drew a sword from his side and turned to face the source of the noise. A dragon, clearly not fully grown and, as such, not yet fire-breathing, came swooping for the two men. Even if it couldn't singe them both, it would have no problem having them for an early dinner. Neal stayed calm and collected. Henry was not quite as calm. He didn't have any weapon on him, not expecting any danger in Storybrooke. Neal skilfully deflected the dragon, sending it back to where it came from.
"We have a herd of them here now." He explained gruffly. "They've never really hurt anyone. They just like to show off." Henry smiled proudly.
"You kept going with that sword training, huh?" He asked. Neal just shrugged his shoulders.
"I promised myself that, whenever you came back, I would be able to show you I was ready to be a knight. When I gave up thinking you'd return, I was still able to put the skills to good use." Neal explained. Henry felt his stomach twist. He had really let Neal down.
"I promise, Neal, I had no idea. As far as I knew, only a year had passed. I'm so sorry I broke my promise." He said sincerely. Neal nodded coldly. Henry knew it was going to take a while for Neal to forgive him, and he didn't blame his uncle. It just seemed their family didn't have much luck when it came to time passing by.
