Long day

Oncefan123 asked for a oneshot of Emma coming home after staying late at the station and ends up falling asleep in between her parents.

It had been a long-ass day. She'd been on three foot chases, one meaning she had to skip lunch. She'd dealt with two angry phone calls over trivial issues which always stressed Emma. Then, she had to wait late at the station because Grumpy was running late. She was over an hour later home than usual, hadn't really eaten anything, and was completely wiped. She was staying over at her parents' place so she could babysit Neal the next morning while they ran some errands. She trudged in the front door, feeling pretty miserable.

"Hey." She called out.

"Hey Em, we're in here." Charming called from the living room. Emma dragged her feet through, giving a half-hearted smile.

"Long day?" Snow asked.

"You can say that again." Emma sighed as she plopped down on the couch on the space in between her parents. "I'm beat." She admitted. Snow smiled.

"Well, I've got your dinner ready, it just needs heated up. I'll get that ready for you and then you can have an early night if you want." Snow said, going through to the kitchen.

"Thanks mom." Emma said gratefully, settling back against the couch. Man, she didn't realise how comfortable she was.

"Any time." Snow called from the kitchen. She busied about getting Emma's dinner ready. After three minutes in the microwave, she popped it on a tray and brought it through…only to find Emma fast asleep, snoring against the sofa. Charming smiled at her.

"Sorry, I didn't want to disturb her." He explained. "I don't think she'll be eating tonight." Snow smiled back.

"No, it would appear not." She agreed, sitting the tray down and then carefully sitting down on Emma's other side again. "Although, knowing Emma, she'll probably want it for breakfast." Charming laughed quietly in agreement. She most likely would.
