"Good morning Onii-chan! I haven't had the chance to interrogate you yesterday. So what happened? Did you get mistaken as Saki-nee's boyfriend?" Komachi smugly asks. I just continued eating, ignoring the not so impressed face of my imouto. "Mou Onii-chan, you're a spoilsport!" She pouted before getting back to eating.

"It went fine, her mother teased the hell out of her for bringing a guy home. You're right about me getting mistaken as her boyfriend." I answered. I think it's highly unlikely for Kawasaki to be my girlfriend, let alone her having a boyfriend. She's too uptight for me if you asked my opinion. Komachi just smiled at me. "What's with that smile?"

"I think Saki-nee likes you."

"Let's keep it that way, just you thinking." I replied. She pouted again and muttered something along the lines of Kawasaki being a good wife. After we finished eating, Komachi insisted that I escort her to her school. With me being a good brother, I did just that.

"Thanks for walking with me Onii-chan! Take care going to Sobu!" With that, I walked towards Sobu high. It didn't take long, as Komachi's school is near mine. Reaching the front gates, I saw Miura's half clique.

"Yahallo Yumiko, Hina-chan! Let's go to the classroom already!" I heard Yuigahama's voice.

"Alright, I was waiting for Hayato but I guess he's already in class." The fire queen answered. The trio walked towards our classroom. I chose to keep my distance from them, but continued to observe their interactions.

As I reached the room, I went straight to my desk and sat down.

"Hachiman!" A voice of an angel said. Totsuka walked to my desk, looking like he wanted to ask something. "Please help me practice later!"

"You know that my right arm is broken right?" He said that he just needs someone who would be able to return his serves. I think I could do that easily.

"Lunchtime?" I asked. Totsuka nodded enthusiastically. "Okay, see you later then."

"Settle down and shut up!" The commanding voice of Hiratsuka-sensei boomed. She briefed us about the upcoming Christmas Event, and that we should think of something to give for our friends. She also lamented at the fact that she's still single. Romcom gods, please give her a man or I'll seriously take her! After the briefing, the classes continued. I sent an occasional glance towards Kawasaki, who also sent me a look. Our eyes met and, it's one of the most awkward things that have happened to me lately. I also felt another gaze at me. Is it Yuigahama or another person?

"Hachiman, I'll see you in the court!" Totsuka reminded. Since it's lunch time, I walked to the cafeteria to grab a Yakisoba bread.

I saw Kawasaki approach shyly. She's holding a bento box, two actually. "Hikigaya, let's eat lunch. I won't take no for an answer." Kawasaki practically dragged me towards the rooftop. Why do they like eating in the rooftop? Kawasaki then gives me a box, motioning me to sit beside her. "Kaa-san wanted me to give you lunch. Come, let's eat."

Hey, who am I to reject free food?

"Thanks, Kawasaki."

"Didn't I tell you, call me Saki." She coughed, probably to emphasize her point.

"Right. Let's eat, S-Saki." That made the girl in front of me smile. I opened the box she gave me and I was surprised by the colors. There's Tempura, and assortment of vegetables that gives off the color. It even has the dreaded tomatoes in it.

"Oh right, you don't like tomatoes if I remember." Saki then picks the tomatoes off my bento. "I'll say that to Mom next time. We continued to eat, with Saki and I talking about the day, and mostly otaku stuff.

"For the last time Hikigaya, Mami's the best girl!" She exclaimed. For the record, if you tell me that breaking up for no apparent reason makes Mami the best, then you can stick that opinion up your ass.

"You're wrong, it's Chizuru." I answered back. This sparked a heated discussion, which turned into a teasing contest. To be honest, I didn't believe Ryuto-san before. Now I believe what he said about Saki. It is really true that parents know their children.

"Ne, Hikigaya, do you mind if I call you Hachiman?" She asked shyly. I don't see a problem with it, so I agreed.

"Sure, you let me call you by your name anyway."

"Thanks, H-Hachiman." What's with that cute stutter? As I looked at my phone, I saw a text message from Totsuka.

Hachiman, where are you? I've been waiting for 20 minutes now. Lunch will be over soon.

Crap, I forgot about Totsuka's practice! I hastily finished my bento and gave it back to Saki, stating that I'm helping Totsuka practice.

"Thanks for the food Saki, I appreciate it!" When I ran towards the tennis court, I heard her mutter about me being a jerk. I'm very sorry for leaving you, Saki.

When I reached the court, I saw Totsuka doing warmup exercises, wearing his tennis gear. When he saw me, he did a cute wave that will easily make most people mistake that he's a girl.

"Hachiman, here!" Combined with her feminine voice, you'll really have a hard time identifying Totsuka's true gender.

"Hey, sorry for not showing up earlier. Saki dragged me on the rooftops to eat." Totsuka shook his head to say that it was okay. I quickly removed my blazer and did warmups myself.

"You ready, Hachiman?"

"Yeah, let's go." Totsuka served the ball.

"Nice game, Hachiman! I'm all worked up!" Totsuka panted. I nodded as I am also panting myself. "Hachiman, is everything alright?" He asked with worry.

"Yeah, I'm just winded. No need to worry about me." I assured him.

"No, I'm talking about you and Yui-chan, is everything alright?"

"What makes you ask?"

"I saw Yui glancing at you this morning. She looked sad." Totsuka replied. I guess even Totsuka will know if Yuigahama is saddened. "You can talk me you know."

"Well… The Service Club is kinda in disarray." Then I proceeded to tell him the problem of the Service Club.

"Well, one thing I know is you guys need to talk, to clear up whatever misunderstandings you guys have. Listen to them too Hachiman, let them explain what they don't understand." Totsuka lectured. I nodded as he is right, maybe I overreacted a bit that time.

"Thanks Totsuka, thanks for the game too."

"Anytime for my friend!" So Totsuka considers me as his friend. After Totsuka changed clothes, we both went back to the classroom. The classes resumed and nothing caught my attention, other than occasional stares from Kawasaki and Miura? I don't understand why she is glaring at me.

"See you guys tomorrow." Our last teacher for the day left, signaling the end of classes. I walked towards the school gate, where I expect Isshiki to be.

She wasn't there.

I pulled up my phone to send her a message, but she beat me to it.

Senpai, I already went ahead because I bought snack for the student council. Let's meet at the convenience store. Don't let your kouhai wait long! ;)

Since I don't have anything to do, I followed what she said and went the convenience store she texted the address. It was a bit far from Sobu, since Kaihin and Sobu both agreed to meet halfway. I walked for 30 minutes more, before reaching the said store.

"Senpai, here!" Isshiki waved and proceeded to use her cutesy act. I immediately went to where she is, being careful not to bump to other patrons.

"Senpai, you came! I thought you wouldn't find me here!" Isshiki then looks at some snacks.

"Hikki?/Hikigaya-kun?" I heard two voices.

What are they doing here?

"I took them with me because we're lacking hands! Tee-hee" She stuck her tongue out, completing the act.

"Y-yo." I stuttered. That seemed to do its job and the two went back to helping Isshiki looking for the snacks. I informed Isshiki that I will be waiting for them outside, and she let me go. Probably because she has no use of me yet.

After 20 minutes, the three came out carrying plastic bags.

"Senpai, did you wait long?" Isshiki asked as her hand extended towards mine. I instinctively grabbed the bag from her hand as I answered her question.

"Yes I did, what took you guys so long?"

"Wrong answer!" Isshiki replied. She then lectured me that guys shouldn't say what I just said, and the girls will get upset about it. We walked towards the meeting spot, where the Kaihin students and our student council already seated.

"We brought drinks everyone! Come and pick one!" Isshiki shouted. The people around the room immediately flocked towards her, grabbing drinks and then thanking her. At least thank the one who carried it!

"Let the meeting commence!" Tamanawa spearheaded. The meeting started with Tamanawa reporting the progress of their side. Then Isshiki reported ours. That's all the progress though, as when we reached the part of discussion where they asked if we should collaborate or do separate shows, the discussion fell into disarray.

"I'm telling you, if we cooperated and used our manpower to manufacture a grand stage play, then I'm sure that the play will be a grandiose success for both our ends!" Tamanawa exclaimed. The students on Kaihin Sougo agreed with what he said.

I'm tired of this indecisiveness form him. "Listen, if we continue to ponder over things like this, our total completion for the event will still be zero. We haven't even decided on what should we do." I said to him. Tamanawa then shrugs his shoulder and then answered.

"If we just continue to use our workforce to purvey a decent output, then I'm sure our final product will be a thing of beauty!" He really is a pompous guy, flaunting his use of formal words on us.

"I agree!" Of course, people like Orimoto, who I bet didn't even make sense of what Tamanawa said, readily agreed. More and more of their council members agreed, then they went their ways to discuss ideas which is highly improbable to happen even if we put great time and effort. The situation on the room is turning sour, with both Kaihin and Sobu students discussing irrelevant things.

"Could we stop playing pretend?" Yukinoshita's voiced silenced the room. "I have never made any single sense to what you have been saying. Is it fun to play pretend? Using words you've recently learned and pretending to have a debate? If all you wanted to do was to play pretend, then could you guys stop wasting our time?" She exhaled. The atmosphere of the room was tense, that you could hear a pin drop.

To be honest, I think the main reason why we haven't had any progress was because both Tamanawa and Isshiki fear failure, that's why we continued dancing around the main problem and never got anything done.

"Uhh, isn't doing separate things better?" Yuigahama nervously spoke. "I mean, we could showcase the strength of our schools and show them more content. Isn't that right?" She asked.

"Uh, Yeah, I think so!" Orimoto nervously answered. This turned into a chorus of agreement, and clearing the main problem.

"This concludes our meeting, take care everyone!" Isshiki ended the meeting. I quickly stood up to grab a Maxx Coffee from the nearest vending machine.

"Mou, you didn't have to do it that way, you know!" Isshiki started. You could've read the mood a little!"

"If you expect him to read the mood, then you're mistaken. All he does is read lines of text." I didn't notice Yukinoshita beside me.

"When you're like me who read tons of text, you'll be able to read between the lines too. In fact, it is you who is Isshiki chewing out." I rebut.

"Why would she chew me out? I'm the one who's right here." She said.

"That's exactly why she's chewing you out."

"Mou, I'm talking to the both of you. You guys could've found a better way to say it!"

""Whatever."' Both of us replied. I walked towards the vending machine, intent on grabbing a Maxx.

"Here, my treat." A can of coffee was presented to my face. "You've changed Hikigaya." Orimoto stated.

"Things happened."

"Still, I can't imagine us dating…" She takes a sip of her drink. "But friends? I think I'm good with that. I mean, you're hilarious!" She laughs. "If our classmates decide to have a reunion, you better come alright?"

"No. Never." I answered back. She just laughed and said I was hilarious.

With the meeting complete, Isshiki bid farewell to us. This left me with Yuigahama and Yukinoshita. I think it's time for us to talk. So, inhaling air, I decided to voice out my thoughts.

"How about we grab a bite and talk?" Since the two was walking ahead of me, they stopped to look at me.

"Are you talking to us, Hikigaya-kun? Or is there someone only your eyes can see?" She asked.

"Yeah Hikki, are you talking to us?" Of course I am.

"I am." I straightened my posture. "So... Let's go?" I asked. They both answered in agreement, though I feel that they're reluctant. We walked towards the nearest food chain, which is a WcDonalds. I made them go look for a seat as I stood in line to order food. Since I'm the one who bothered them to go here, I am making sure that I treat the both of them. I ordered 3 burgers, fries, and soda. After getting the food, I saw Yuigahama waving at me, walking towards the table. After hearing an insult from Yukinoshita, we indulged ourselves with the food.

"So, why did you suddenly drag us here Hikigaya-kun? With your eyes, I fear the worst for my body." Classic Yukinoshita, always goes for the eyes.

"Yeah Hikki, why bring us here? This is a first." Yuigahama asked.

"W-Well, I just wanted to talk you guys."

"Did you eat something bad today?" What's with that assumption Yukinoshita? But I guess their thoughts are warranted. I was never the one to invite a person, it's me who gets invited more often.

"Remember what I asked last Monday?" I coughed, for it is getting hard for me to speak. "That I wanted something genuine?"

"I can't forget it Hikki, even if you told us to." Yuigahama said.

"I still don't understand what you wanted Hikigaya-kun. What is something genuine?" Yukinoshita asked.

"Honestly… I don't know myself either." I sipped on my soda. "But I want to be real, this time. No more status quo, no more pretenses. Just us, understanding each other, nothing to hide."

"That's…" I heard a sniff. "Hard to do HIkki. You're asking for too much."

"How will we know if you're genuine? You're the one who's not showing your true self to us, Hikigaya-kun." I see her eyes getting wet.

Tears fell.

"I know." I felt warm liquid sliding on my face. I too, am tearing up. "That's why…" I choked. I don't know what's stopping me from saying it.

Why is it hard for me to say it? Is it because I think it invalidates my experiences? Because it makes my suffering before, void? Why is asking for forgiveness hard? Maybe I'm scared, because this is something I don't understand yet.

"If you want something genuine, you should act upon it." Ryuto-san's voice echoed. He's right, I need to be the one to act first. I cleared my throat, I don't know how many times I've done it.

"That's why, I'm sorry." They looked at me with surprise. "You two are the closest thing I have as friends, and the past few weeks, I tried to maintain the status quo for the fear of losing the club, which I treasured." They're openly crying now. "But not again. That's why I'm asking for something genuine, even if I don't know what it really means." I finished.

"Hikki… I don't understand it either, but I know in myself… it will work." Yuigahama then embraces Yukinoshita.

"You're unfair." Yukinoshita then hugs back the pinkette, crying over each other's arms. After a few more minutes, with me fixing myself up and the two calming down, Yukinoshita spoke again. "We accept your request, Hikigaya-kun."

"Let's all find this something genuine!" Yuigahama joyfully exclaimed, like she didn't cry at all. When we finished, the sky was already dark. I accompanied the two of them to where they're going, with us going over Yukinoshita's apartment, and me getting dumped by Yuigahama a street before their house.

When I reached home, my autopilot kicked in and I found myself in bed.

This day has been tiring, but I managed to fix the service club's problem. Finally, I can sleep peacefully without any mind boggling thoughts.
