Almost grown

A guest asked for a oneshot of Snowing realising Henry is growing up.

It was the little things at first. Not getting so excited over weekend movie nights. Not stashing sweets anymore. Then it gradually got bigger. Holidays like Easter and Christmas no longer held so much enchantment. He wanted to chill by himself rather than hang out with his grandparents when he was staying over at his out. He didn't need someone to watch him at all anymore. He could look after himself. He wasn't the little boy that they used to know. No, Henry was growing up. It wasn't easy for any grandparent to see about their grandkids, but it was even harder for Snow and Charming. They had already been robbed a decade of his childhood, the first decade of their grandson's life. Now it felt like they had been short-changed the next eight years. He had just grown up so fast.

They knew it wouldn't be long before Henry was ready to leave home. They didn't know what he would do. He might go off to college, he might expand his tales as the latest Author. There was the slimmest hope that he would go straight out of school to a job in Storybrooke, maybe take up a position on the force like his mother and grandfather. But both Snow and Charming knew that wasn't the life for their Henry. No, he wanted more adventure than that. They just weren't sure how he would get it yet, or if it would be somewhere with cell service.
