Snowball fight gone wrong
A guest asked for a oneshot of something to do with Emma and her parents, involving an incident that seemed funny at first, but then turns serious.
It was just meant to be a harmless snowball fight. A stupid little snowball fight. How could any of them have known it would have ended up with a trip to the ER and Emma having to wear a stupid eyepatch for up to six weeks? Emma sat huffing in the little waiting room of Storybrooke General as Charming filled out the paperwork for her prescription.
"I look stupid." Emma grumbled to her mom. Snow sighed, checking over the details for Emma's follow up appointments again.
"Well, think about it this way, at least it's not permanent. If the stone lodged in that snowball had been just a tiny bit to the left, you might have lost some eyesight permanently." Snow pointed out, wincing at the very idea. Emma rolled her now one good eye.
"Would have been worth it. Shoulda seen your face when I flung that first snowball at you…" Emma began to snigger. Snow was less than amused.
"Emma, this is serious. Sure, the snowball fight was good fun, and a nice release of tension for all of us, but also a reminder that we need to be careful. I should have noticed that there was a stone in that snowball…"
"Hey," Emma said more gently, squeezing her mom's hand. "There's no way you could have noticed it. None of us could have. I'm going to be fine. Emma promised her mom with a reassuring smile. Snow wasn't convinced quite yet. She still felt guilty. Just then, Charming came over with Emma's eyedrops (something he already knew she'd be thrilled about having to put in).
"Ok, Captain One-Eye. Let's get you home. Maybe wrap you up in some cotton wool." Charming teased his daughter. He gave her a hand up, wrapping a protective arm around her. There was never a dull moment in the Charming family household.
