Episode 1: Trouble Maker Trent! The JourneyBegins!
Marley: Ahh the Gyaza Region, a beautiful region. You know that this region's there are no Pokemon that exclusively live in this region, millions of species of other pokemon have migrated here from other regions to call this place their home.
They say that there is some secret energy that draws large numbers of pokemon to this region, and scientists to this day are still trying to figure out this secret, isn't it wonderful son?
Trent: Mom!
Marley: Yes dear?
Trent: Can you cool it with the history lesson? I'm tryna sleep.
Marley: Sorry son, I'm just really excited because today is the day you start your pokemon journey, so I figured I'd teach you a little about the region that you will be exploring. I'm soooo proud of you!
Trent: Yeah, yeah whatever.
Marley: Well son breakfast is downstairs and I packed your bag with all sorts of things you will need.
(Marley leaves the room)
Trent:...Oh crap! My journey! That's today! Finally I'm gonna get respect, as I become the greatest!
(Opening Sequence)
( at the front of the house)
Marley: (sob) I'm going to miss you so much sweetie! promise to call me when you reach the first town and remember I love you and I'm so proud of you!
(Marley smothers Trent in her hug to the point where Trent can't breathe.)
Trent: Mom! cut it out! I'm not a kid anymore, I'm twelve! and you're embarrassing me! I gotta go, see ya!
(Trent runs off towards Prof. Cerdar's lab which is north of Cherryville Town)
Shopkeeper: Hey isn't that Trent that just ran off towards Prof. Cedar's place?
Marley: Yep, my son is starting his Pokemon Journey.
Shopkeeper: No offense Marley, but isn't Trent the big troublemaker in Cherryville that's rude, impatient, and destructive? by the way you still owe me for what Trent did to my plant shop.
Marley: Yeah Trent did gain that small reputation, but much like his father said, I feel this Journey will help him grow, not just as a Pokemon Trainer, but as a person.
(Meanwhile at the entrance to Prof. Cedar's lab)
Trent: Well this is it, once I enter this door I can start my Pokemon Journey
(Trent knocks on the door hard)
Prof. Cedar: Oh yes hello?
Trent: Hey are you the old man Prof. Cedar I heard about? I came here to get my first Pokemon and start my journey.
Prof. Cedar: First off I'm not old! I'm only thirty two, second yes this is the place where Pokemon Trainers come to receive their license, so come this way.
Trent: Got it thanks old man!
Prof. Cedar: Stop calling me old!
(They walk into the lab)
Prof. Cedar: Your name is Trent, correct? I was expecting you. As you can see here since the Gyaza region holds large numbers of pokemon, trainers get the choose one of eighteen Pokemon you see here
(Prof. Cedar shows Trent a small field that has 18 pokemon in it which include Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Trecko, Torchic, Mudkip,
Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Chespin. Fennekin, and Froakie.)
Trent: Man, these are the pokemon that I have to pick from?
Prof. Cedar: It's a hard choice isn't it? because there are so many?
Trent: No that's not it, it's a hard choice because they all look so weak, don't you have any stronger pokemon?
Prof. Cedar: (The nerve of this boy!) The pokemon here are supposed to be weak so that beginner trainers can train them!
(Trent begins poking some of the pokemon in the face as a form of insult)
Trent: But that will take forever! I wanna be the champion soon old man!
Prof. Cedar: Stop calling me old! and stop poking the pokemon like that! They'll get upset.
Trent: Yeah whatever but I want a strong pokemon, not one of these plush doll looking guys.
(Insulted by this remark Charmander shoots Ember at Trents face)
Trent: Hey! You know what old man? I don't need any of these pokemon, just give me the pokeballs, dex, and licence, I'll catch my own.
Prof. Cedar: I'm afraid I cannot give you any of those things, especially your license.
Trent: What! Why not old man?
Prof. Cedar: Well first off...I'M NOT OLD! and second the way you treat pokemon, and people is very disrespectful, now that I think about it,
aren't you the son of Joseph the Gyaza Region Champion? I expect better from you considering that!
Trent: So this is what it's all about huh? Well sorry I don't meet my dad's perfect standards!
Prof. Cedar: That's not even the main problem. I can't let someone like you train pokemon, because I need to have the pokemon's well being into consideration as well, and the way you treat them, I fear they will be unhappy.
Trent: You know what? fine! I don't need your stupid liscence! I'll get a pokemon and become a trainer without it!
(Trent runs out of the lab in a rage)
Prof. Cedar: Hey! where are you going!? (sigh) this kid must have been a real handful growing up, well I better find out his mothers phone number so I can tell her he ran off.
(Meanwhile in Cherryville Forest Trent is sitting on a log showing to be very upset with this whole outcome)
Trent: Why does everybody expect me to be like my father "Mr. Champion" I wanna have my own identity!
Come to think of it the whole reason I wanted to start my journey anyway was to get respect from those that looked down on me, and to beat my dad so I can be the one that's praised. (sigh)
(Just then a Pichu carrying an apple walks past and notices Trent who still looks really upset. Pichu then walks closer to Trent and tries to cheer him up but offering the apple)
Trent: Huh? Who are you?
Pichu: Pichu Pi!
Trent: You're giving this...to me?
Pichu: chu!
Trent: I haven't had anything to eat since breakfast...thanks little guy, besides my mom, no one has ever been this nice to me.
Pichu: Pichu!
Trent: Thank you, now I should probably get home since I don't have a pokemon to protect me, see ya little guy.
Pichu: Piiiichu!
(After that Pichu goes off to find another apple so that it can eat, upon climbing a tree he reaches for the apple on the farthest branch.
Pichu then slips and falls onto another tree branch, the vibration from fall causes some nearby kakuna to shake, and Beedrill soon swarms to find the source of the noise.
They then spot Pichu, and Pichu runs in fear trying to lose the Beedrill)
Pichu: Piiiiiiiiii!
(Trent hears this cry further in the forest)
Trent: Huh? what's that noise?
(Trent then sees Pichu running away from the swarm of Beedrill while it's getting hit with Poison Stings. Pichu tries to defend itself with Thundershock but it does little against the swarm.)
Trent: It's the Pokemon that helped me before! I gotta do something! (but what can I do? lemme check my bag there's gotta be something in here that can help)
Huh? Pokemon food? did mom put this in here...oh yeah I remember.
(Flash Back in the PokeMart)
Trent(Past): Mom why did you take me here so you can buy some dumb berries.
Marley(Past): Trent you're going to become a Pokemon Trainer soon, so you need to know that the essentials to making good Pokemon food is to have some good berries.
I didn't become a pokemon trainer like you or your father, but I did master in making all types of Pokemon food, so I can make a Pokemon food shop, here take this.
Trent(Past): uh thanks
Marley(Past): When your Pokemon are traveling with you it's important to make sure they are supplied with good food ok?
(Flash Back ends)
Trent: Maybe if I throw this it can be a distraction so I can save him...here goes!
(Trent then throws the Pokemon food in the opposite direction of the beedrill and the food falls into the bushes.
The scent from the food attracts the beedrill and they fly away from Pichu, While Pichu is free from the beedrill attack, it has been badly poisoned and severely injured.)
Trent: Whew! glad that's over but I can't just leave this guy here, he helped me I gotta do something.
(Meanwhile at Cedar's Lab, Prof. Cedar goes to his computer to check for information on Trent to call his mother and inform her of Trent's disappearance.
He suddenly notices an Email from Joseph)
Prof. Cedar: Hmm? What's this?
The Message reads:
Dear Prof. Cedar
As of today my son will be turning twelve years old. He will then begin his Pokemon Journey, I wanted to message you to let you know that I apologize in advance for some trouble my son might cause.
It's not all his fault, I understand that me being the Champion has set the bar really high for Trent, and has in turn put a lot of pressure on him.
Furthermore I know that I'm also not around because of me being Champion, so he tends to act out to receive attention and respect.
I beg you to please be patient with him, his mother and I truly believe that this Pokemon Journey is what Trent needs in order to become better, not just as a Pokemon Trainer, but as a person.
Thank You -Joseph
Prof. Cedar: Well...You definitely have a lot of faith in your son Joseph (For you to message me about this, you must really see something in that boy)
I wish I could help but as of now, I have no idea where this is.
(Suddenly Trent quickly opens the doors to Prof. Cedar's Lab and runs in the lab with Pichu in his arms)
Trent: Old Man! Quick you gotta do something! This pokemon is hurt!
Prof. Cedar: That's a Pichu...What happened to it!?
Trent: There's no time to explain he's really hurt you gotta hurry!
Prof. Cedar: Ok ok! give him to me, I'll take care of him.
(Later Trent is waiting in the main room of the lab for Pichu to return healthy, Prof. Cedar then enters the room)
Prof. Cedar: I'm surprised to see you're still here.
Trent: I'm just here to see if Pichu is ok, I owe him that's all.
Prof. Cedar: Wanna tell me what happened to that Pichu?
(Trent then explains the situation and how Pichu got injured)
Prof. Cedar: Well that's quite a story, and you surprised me the most Trent.
Trent: What? how?
Prof. Cedar: You not only saved Pichu from getting attacked, you brought it here to get treated, and even now you're staying here to make sure it's recovered.
Trent: What of it old man? I told you, he helped me...I'm just returning the favor that's all.
Prof. Cedar: Well I'll tell you one thing Trent, You have definitely grown since I saw you earlier this morning.
(This boy may be rude at times but he shows that he too can care about Pokemon, given the circumstances.) I feel that you deserve these Trent.
(Prof. Cedar then hands Trent a Pokemon License, a Pokedex, and six Pokeballs)
Trent: What? You're giving me these? I thought you said I couldn't have a licence, old man?
Prof. Cedar: You have shown that even you can have a true heart when it comes to Pokemon, and in time I feel you will grow as a trainer, like you did today and also...I'm Not Old!
Tent: Yeah! I got my Pokemon License! Thanks old...I mean Prof. Cedar!
Prof. Cedar: No problem now let's get you a starter Pokemon
(Trent and Prof. Cedar meet back up in the room that is full of starter pokemon)
Prof. Cedar: Now you will need a pokemon to start your journey. Do you still think they look too weak?
Trent: Well the truth is...yeah
(Prof. Cedar falls to the floor comically)
Prof. Cedar: (I can't believe this kid even after all of that, he still doesn't get it!)
Trent: But still, I'll get one to start
Prof. Cedar: (thank goodness)
Trent: Let's see I'll pick...
(Just before Trent is about to pick a Pokemon, Pichu runs out of the recovery room and happily jumps into Trent's arms, he shows to be very grateful to Trent for helping it.)
Trent: Oh hey buddy! Glad to see you feel better.
Pichu: Iiiiiiiiii Chuuuu!
(Just then Pichu shows to give Trent a very pleased look)
Prof. Cedar: Hahahaha!
Trent: What's so funny Old man?
Prof. Cedar: In all my years of being a Prof. I have seen Trainers pick their Pokemon, but this is the first time I've seen a Pokemon pick their Trainer.
Trent, I think Pichu wants to travel with you and become your first Pokemon.
Trent: Really? Is that what you want Pichu?
(Pichu nods his head in agreement and hugs Trent, He then looks at one of Trent's Pokeballs and presses the button on it,
the Pokeball opens and captures Pichu, the ball then wiggles three times and clicks, Pichu has been successfully caught)
Prof. Cedar: Looks like you're all set Trent, you have your first Pokemon and everything you need.
Trent: Alright! I caught Pichu! and I can now begin my Journey!
Prof. Cedar: Now Trent, understand that a long journey lies ahead for you, you will meet tough rivals, gain new friends, and meet new challenges,
but always remember that you and your pokemon will-...hey! wait a minute!
Trent: Your speech was taking too long, Old Man! Thanks for the License but I gotta go!
Prof. Cedar: STOP CALLING ME OLD!...( Joseph let's hope you're right about this boy, hopefully this journey will teach him some manners)
(Trent and Pichu stare off into the sunset on the edge of a cliff)
Trent: Well this is it Pichu, I finally start my Journey...Watch out dad I'm gonna become the best, and get more respect than you, so everyone will know the name Trent!
Pichu: Pichu Pi!
Narrator: And so the Journey for Trent and Pichu begins, what challenges, friends, and Pokemon await them, find out soon... As our Journey has just begun!
To be Continued...
