Captain of the ship

Jade Star asked for a oneshot of the Underworld gang get roped into commanding the Flying Dutchman for Hades after Snow and Red left. They're given one day a year to return to the realm of the living. Snow waits for them by the docks.

"Here they come, baby boy." Snow whispered to her infant son as she watched the ship come closer to land. This was a very bittersweet day for the whole Charming family.

Hades was cruel. He didn't get to be Lord of the Underworld because of his kindness. Just when the heroes thought they'd conquered him and would be able to return to their land, the truth became known. Whilst they were in the Underworld, Hades owned their souls. He sold them to the only person who could make Hell worse: Davey Jones. The heroes were put aboard the Flying Dutchman immediately. They were, remarkably, able to defeat Davey Jones, but that didn't get their souls back. It just meant Charming was now the captain of the vessel. As the new captain, his ten year timer started again, meaning he could immediately return to land with Emma and the others for one day only. They could see Snow and Neal.

As soon as the ship was docked, Charming and Emma flew off it. Emma took Neal off their mother whilst Charming embraced Snow. This situation wasn't what either of them wanted for their family. Neither of them had given up hope they would find a way to return the souls to their rightful owners, but until then, it was torture being separated for so long at a time.

The family swapped over, with Charming taking Neal and Snow hugging Emma.

"Hey little man." Charming said, trying to smile for the sake of his son. "Daddy and Emmy have missed you so much. You've gotten so big, haven't you?" He cooed, cherishing the way Neal smiled at him. Neal would be approaching his teenage years by the time they saw him again. The thought of which was almost too much to bare.

Meanwhile, Snow clung to Emma for dear life. She knew she had to let go of both her and Charming at some point all too soon, but she would savour every last second she had with them on land. She had tried to convince them to bring her and Neal with them, but they refused, saying it was no life for them. It wasn't like Charming wanted it for them either, but they had no choice. All they could do was hope someone would find an end to this torture for them all. Until then, they simply had to be brave, for they simply had no choice.
