Mikey
Her hair was that striking ruby red we had seen earlier, and her eyes were red. She was hot! She wore an outfit of a leather halter top and short shorts. Her boots reached her knees.
"I'm sure you've figured by now that my name is Ruby Roundhouse." She told us.
Leo nodded. "I'm L-"
"Don't."
"What?"
"Don't tell me your real name." She growled. "It's best for everyone if we don't know each other on too personal a level."
Raph snarled. "Well, nobody's calling me anything other than Raphael!" He snapped.
"That's just because you got stuck with a character who's nickname is 'Mouse'." Leo snickered at him. Raph growled.
Ruby Roundhouse snickered. "Mouse." She turned away and lit several candles. "By the way, how many lives do you have each?"
I looked at my arm. "Two." I replied.
"Two." Leo added.
"Three." Donnie.
"One." Raph admitted.
Ruby looked at Raph. "Well, aren't you in hot water, bud? I have two lives left, as well. I'm stuck on this level." She motioned out a window. We looked, and could see a shed in the distance.
"The airplane stalled, and you can't outrun psychos on a bus. Not to mention that the truck blew a tire before I got very far." She explained. "The last choice has to be the helicopter. I've been biding my time, hoping somebody would find the game and select the pilot character."
"Wait, you tried three times, but you only died once and you've still failed? I don't get it." Donnie admitted.
"I died when the airplane crashed. The truck and the bus each got to the trees before I got killed, so I managed to escape." She explained. "But now he's here. Now I can progress- we can progress, make our way to the final level, and beat this godforsaken game."
Leo looked nervous. I wondered why.
"Alright, say we help you. That means you're going to help us proceed, too. Right?" Donnie asked.
"Of course. I don't go back on my word. Ever." Ruby replied.
Raph walked up to her and tried to size her up. Of course, being about four feet tall, it wasn't very effective. Ruby just stared at him.
"What are you doing?"
"Intimidating you." Raph growled.
Ruby just snorted at that, then turned to Leo. "I can sneak you four past the guards. Once you've got the helicopter going, I'll hop in and we can go. Oh, and in case you all think of double crossing me, I'll hold on to this beaut." She held up the green jewel.
We agreed. Ruby grabbed a cloak and tucked the jewel into a hidden pocket on the inside of the cloak.
We headed down to the shed, and hid in the trees, watching the shed.
"Alright, princess, how you gonna sneak us in?" Raph demanded.
"By being live bait." She smirked, and flipped her cloak around, folding several corners and tying a few knots. In a few minutes, the cloak was slung around her neck and over her shoulder like a sexy cape-scarf hybrid. Man, she was hot. The pocket for the jewel was in the inner-most folds of the cape-scarf.
"Good luck, boys. I'll meet you in the shed." With that, she snuck around the trees. We watched as she came out at a different point, distracting the guards from our vantage point. She sauntered down with the sexiest walk.
"Woah, she's hot..." I whispered.
"You don't know who she really is, Mikey." Leo reminded me.
"Yeah, I know. Doesn't mean her character's not hot."
"She doesn't want us to know who she really is. Maybe she's actually a 200 pound dude named Chuck living in his Mom's basement?" Raph growled.
"Guys. Come on. We only have a few minutes with the guards being distracted." Donnie hissed. We followed him sneaking down to the side of the shed. There was a door with a padlock that was rusty and old and had probably never been used.
As Donnie and Raph were puzzling over the lock, I heard music. It was a popular nineties song. I liked that song. I caught a glimpse of Ruby. She was dancing with the gunned men, but she was also getting kind of aggressive. As I watched, the dancing evolved into fighting with the hottest moves I'd ever seen. No way did Chuck from Mom's basement know that kind of skill.
I was distracted long enough that Leo had to come back out of the shed, punch me in the arm to get my attention, and then drag me into the shed. Donnie and Raph were sitting in the helicopter.
I climbed in the helicopter next to Donnie. Leo got into the driver's seat.
"You know what you're doing, right?" Donnie asked.
"Y-yeah... you know what? Yeah, I think I do." Leo turned the helicopter on. "Donnie, get the big door."
Donnie threw open the big front doors of the shed, where Ruby stood, having just knocked the two guards unconscious. She noticed us and ran to the helicopter, hopping in next to Raph.
The chopper lurched a bit as Leo moved it forward and out of the shed. Ruby cheered. "Finally! Let's get out of here!"
We all let out a breath of relief, until I heard Leo mutter. "Uh oh."
"Uh oh what?" I demanded.
"Leo, what's wrong?" Donnie asked.
"D, I can't fly! I-I don't have any control!" Leo gasped. "I-I can't steer..."
"Don't freak out." Ruby told him. "The collective is busted. It controls the helicopter, you won't be able to land without it. Bravestone has three lives. As long as he doesn't chop his own head off three times, he should be able to fix it."
"WHAT?! WHY ME?!" Donnie gasped.
"You chose the hero avatar, you get to be the hero."
Donnie took a deep breath, and disappeared out the side of the plane. Everybody but Ruby was freaking out. Raph grabbed Donnie's legs so he wouldn't fall.
Soon, Donnie returned. I felt the helicopter lurch.
"HANG ON TO SOMETHING!" Leo screamed.
I looked out the window. People with guns were shooting us. The helicopter lurched to the right. Leo was trying to evade bullets.
Donnie pulled a seat belt around himself. Ruby calmy held onto a handle above her head. Raph and I hugged each other and screamed. I heard something crunch, and suddenly the helicopter was going down, very quickly. Raph and I screamed louder. Donnie started screaming. Leo was already screaming. Ruby just sat there like it wasn't her first time in a helicopter that was rapidly declining.
We hit trees really hard. There was spinning and crunching, until finally the wreck of the helicopter stopped moving. We clawed our way out. I was still alive, Raph was still alive... Leo pulled himself from the driver's seat, and Donnie fumbled with undoing the seatbelt, and pulled himself out, shaking.
Ruby simply stood up and stepped out calmly, as if the helicopter hadn't just crashed.
"Good flying, Seaplane."
"W-what?" Leo gasped.
Ruby sighed. "Alright, fine. Leo, I think they said. They called you Raphael, and you D..." Ruby looked at me with fiery red eyes. "I'm not sure what your name is, nobody ever called you by name."
"M-M-"
"I'll call you Mike. I like Mike, and you look like a Mike." She didn't let me finish.
I shrugged. "You can call me whatever you want." I winked.
"Are you flirting with me? You don't even know me. What if I'm a 12 year old girl who lives in the sewers with a rat?" Ruby scoffed, and turned towards Leo.
Ouch. Rejection stung. Donnie patted me on the shoulder. "Better luck next time, Romeo."
