Chapter 3

The Sleeping Sickness: Protect the Girls in Love

"Jadeite, Sephiroth, tell me, how are you coming along with the collection of human life energy to offer to the great ruler?" asked Queen Beryl.

"Everything is going as planned, but only if you'd give me a little more time, our success would truly be assured," replied Jadeite.

Sephiroth huffed as he turned away, his shimmering katana, Masamune, held at his side.

"If that's what you believe, then I suppose we will need to redouble our efforts," said the One-Winged Angel.

"I see. And you're absolutely certain that it will work this time?" the evil empress asked inquisitively.

"It's true we've had interference in the past, but I'm working in secret with my monster Furau, and We feel confident our results will not disappoint," said Jadeite.

"Very well, but keep in mind that this entire affair rests on your shoulders. Move forward and do not fail us, or Sephiroth will make an example out of you," Beryl said with a dark chuckle.

Jadeite nodded, and soon vanished into the dark corridor.

In Usagi and Naru's houses, they were listening in on the radio, to the sound of a man's voice speaking through it.

"All my old diaries are full of thoughts for you, and now I fill my diaries with memories of the past. I want to see you again, even if it's just one more time. So I can tell you how I really feel, deep inside my heart," the announcer said.

Miss Haruna, however, was jumping for joy like a kid at a candy store, as she listened to the broadcast.

"That last letter came from, pen name, Haruna the Dreamer, who lives in Juban," the announcer said.

"Haruna?" Questioned Usagi and Sora.

"No way, that's the same name as my teacher!" she said in realization.

"Maybe, but how can she even think of things like that?" wondered Sora.

"This program is currently accepting love letters submissions from listeners. If your letter is chosen, you'll receive a flower brooch, a magical flower that will bring you love," said the announcer.

But Sora seemed suspicious about it just as Luna walked into her room.

"Cool, I wish I could win one of those flower brooches," Usagi said with a hint of wonder in her voice.

"Hey, you guys," Luna said to them, just as she jumped up onto the table, and listened to the program coming to a close, until she heard Jadeite-o through the speakers, making her turn to face them.

"But actually I've never written a love letter before. I have to figure out who to write it to," she said.

"Uh, Usagi, Luna's here," Sora said to her.

This made Luna happy to know that she was being acknowledged, but she knew that their mission had to come first.

"He's right, Usagi," she said firmly.

"What!? What is it?" asked Usagi.

"You should be in bed. If you don't get to sleep soon, then you're gonna be late for school again," replied the cat, making Usagi turn away from her in a huff.

"I'm afraid I have to agree with Luna on this one, Usagi. The longer you listen to late night radio shows, the less likely you'll remember that your Sailor Moon, the guardian that's been given the task of something very important," said Sora.

"All right, I get it! Bedtime!" she replied grumpily and tucked herself in.

Luna was momentarily displeased, but Sora quietly left her room, turned out the lights, and went out of the house to go on a late-night patrol for any Heartless that would be prowling the streets looking for hearts to collect and increase their ranks, which made the dark colored cat rather surprised. Deep down, she could sense a tiny sliver of Sailor Moon's determination, but at the same time, the upbeat yet cheerful side of Usagi within his heart, but she was mildly suspicious about him being a Keyblade Wielder.

"Hmm, a sleeping sickness where you don't ever wake up. I wouldn't mind catching a case of that so I can never wake up for once," Kenji said as he read the morning newspaper.

"Don't say that, we're counting on you to work hard and feed this family," protested his wife as she set down a plate of toast.

"I was only kidding. If I was asleep, then I wouldn't be able to enjoy your delicious meals honey," Kenji chuckled nervously, as he put the newspaper down.

"Oh, you're such a flatterer dear," replied Keiko, as she poked her husband's cheek.

Then she fed him toast with butter, as Sora laughed at the scene in front of him.

"OH NO! I'm totally gonna be late!" Usagi cried out from above.

"Oh, I didn't know Usagi was still at home," said her father.

"Did you forget to wake her up again, Mrs. Tsukino?" asked Sora.

"Oh dear, you might be right," replied Keiko.

They all saw Usagi racing down the stairs, grab her toast, and rush out the front door to school.

"I'd better go with her," Sora said to Usagi's parents.

Then he too left the house as well, and followed Usagi to her school, where she heard her wailing about Miss Haruna berating her for arriving late yet again. When they got to her class, Usagi was panting wearily as she sat at her desk, with Naru beside her.

"You guys, where is Miss Haruna?" she asked her friends.

"Beats me," replied Sora.

"No one knows, she hasn't come in yet," added Naru.

"Lucky for me," Usagi said gleefully.

"But still, it's quite extraordinary for Miss Haruna to be arriving so late. It's quite irregular," piped in Umino.

At last they heard the door opening, and saw Miss Haruna stepping into the classroom, but the four of them sensed something off about her. She looked completely disoriented and exhausted. Everyone seemed worried about her as she tripped, but soon caught herself just in time, and turned to face her class with a droopy expression, that made Sora suspicious.

"All right, I'd better take attendance," she said drowsily.

But she dropped the attendance book, and revealed a flower brooch on the left lapel of her uniform, making Sora even more suspicious, but made Usagi rather surprised.

"You know, on second thought, let's just have a free period today, so go ahead and study whatever you want," Miss Haruna said, in a loopy tone.

But then they noticed something that made Sora's expression darken even further. The brooch Miss Haruna wore began absorbing her life force, and she fell fast asleep. Sora knew that this was not the way Miss Haruna acted, as he glared at her sleeping form, while the other students looked at her in confusion.

"This is crazy, you guys! Do you have any idea what happened to Miss Haruna?" Umino asked them.

"Why are you asking us? We just got here," replied Usagi.

But Sora slowly turned around and walked out the door without a word.

"But I totally lucked out! I know that," she said happily.

Outside on the streets of Juban, Luna walked calmly with the rest of Sora's friends, the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts.

"I don't know how much more I can take, I'm completely sick of it. It really seems that Usagi doesn't listen to a single thing I say. I bet her teacher is right now yelling at her for being late. Serves her right," she complained to her friends.

"I wouldn't hold Usagi accountable just yet, Luna. Just give her time to adjust to her role as Sailor Moon, and maybe one day she'll be able to protect those she holds most dear to her own heart," Riku assured the cat, just as the door to the arcade slowly opened.

"Hey, so we meet again, kitty," said Motoki, giving her a wink.

As if by instinct, Luna quickly meowed at him, while the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts remained neutral around him.

"You're Motoki, right?" asked Roxas.

Motoki nodded at them.

"Yep, and you guys must be Sora and Usagi's friends. But I see those two aren't with you today," he said to them, as he knelt down to look at Luna, who meowed at him.

The others chuckled amongst themselves.

"Oh, right, she must be at school today," Motoki said oberservantly as he gently stroked Luna's fur.

But the violet cat knew now she had to be cautious around other people.

"I'm guessing you might enjoy a little milk, right kitty?" Motoki said to Luna.

He slowly stood up, and went inside the arcade.

"Wait just a second," he said to Usagi's feline companion.

Luna glanced at him with a happy expression on her face, but then quickly composed herself.

"Oh, I sure do wish Usagi could be most understanding once in a while," she said to the others.

Before any of them could answer, they heard the sound of sirens blaring. An ambulance raced past them, and Luna soon learned that trouble was already brewing on the horizon.

"Oh no, what happened?" she asked worriedly.

"It's the darkness," whispered Riku.

He ran after the ambulance with his friends close behind him. When they arrived, they could see the sleeping Haruna being taken away on a stretcher. At the same time, Sora and the rest of Miss Haruna's class also watched as the english teacher was being loaded onto the ambulance.

"I wonder what's going on?" asked Umino.

But Sora still had that dark expression on his face, as he looked at the scene before him.

"She wouldn't wake up no matter what they tried. I didn't realize being a teacher was so exhausting," replied Usagi.

"You know, I heard someone talking the other day about how there's some kind of illness going around, where people fall asleep and never wake up again," Naru said to her friends.

"What?! Seriously?! So you get to spend your entire day asleep?!" Usagi asked in shock.

Behind them, Sora was growing more and more suspicious, making the three friends turn to face him.

"Is something wrong, Sora?" Naru asked him.

"It's nothing, Naru," he replied in a tone of voice that made her flinch, as he walked out the door and joined his friends near the ambulance.

"Geez, what crawled into Sora's bed and died?" asked Umino.

"No idea. But, you'd get to spend your whole life dreaming, and I imagine that would be a whole lot of fun," replied Usagi.

The others weren't sure, even as Sora glanced up at the window Usagi, Umino, and Naru were watching from, as the ambulance raced to the hospital.

"Really?" asked Naru.

"Yep," Usagi replied with a light-hearted giggle.

At the FM No. 10 radio station, one of the workers brought in a large pile of letters in a wooden box, and placed it on the manager's desk.

"Just look at all of them. Yet another batch of letters addressed to Midnight Zero," the worker said.

"Again? How can there be such a big response to a program that doesn't even exist?" asked the manager.

"What should we do?" the manager's assistant asked.

"Nothing, just get rid of them," replied the manager.

"Okay, if you say so," said the assistant.

"Oh, were those letters? I'll take care of them for you," a woman said from behind as she approached them.

"Great, thank you for being such a team player!" the manager said happily.

"No problem," replied the woman, as her eyes flickered a bit.

A short while later after school, Sora, Naru, Usagi, and the rest of their friends were walking down the streets of Juban.

"Really Naru? You mean, you've been listening to Midnight Zero, too?" asked Usagi.

"Of course, just like everyone else has. I've even sent them a bunch of love letters as well," replied Naru.

"Seriously? Well who do you write them too?" Usagi asked curiously.

"I make up future boyfriends, and write to them. It doesn't really matter, it's just for fun," replied Naru.

Sora chuckled a bit, while he had his hands behind his head.

"That's smart! Now why didn't I think of that?" Usagi asked herself.

She was so fixated on her future boyfriend, that she didn't watch where she was going, and bumped into the same guy, who mocked her from before. Quickly Sora brandished his keyblade, and glared at him.

"I'm so sorry, I guess I wasn't just paying attention," she said quickly.

"Uh, you guys," Naru said.

The guy laughed at them.

"You!" Sora and Usagi said furiously.

"Very polite of you to apologize, to a telephone pole," he said to Usagi.

She was growing irritated by the way he was acting in front of her.

"I know walking and talking is difficult for you, you really should pay attention to where you're going," the guy said as he walked past them.

"Shut up!" the two friends shouted at him.

"Hey, you two, do you actually know this guy? Cause he is totally-" Naru was about to say.

"Keep it to yourself!" Sora snapped at her.

"Yeah! There's nothing gorgeous about him! I am so annoyed!" screamed Usagi.

"That's enough you two!" shouted Riku, making them turn and snap to attention like soldiers who were about to march into battle.

When Sora and Usagi went back to the Tsukino house, Usagi placed a notepad on the table.

"All right, gotta concentrate, gotta write a love letter," she said.

"You know Usagi, a love letter is meaningless unless you give it to the person directly," piped in Luna.

"Do not talk to me right now! You got it!?" she barked at her feline companion.

"Okay," Luna replied sheepishly.

"Fine, do as you wish," muttered Sora, as he left to patrol the streets with his fellow Guardians of Kingdom Hearts.

Usagi was now focused on finding her one true future boyfriend, but it was very difficult to think of a good boyfriend, and she couldn't bring herself to write a love letter to Sora or any of the other guys that he was close to. She could write one to Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, And she most certainly couldn't write one to Kairi, Aqua, Namine, and Xion. Then she sighed dejectedly.

"It's no use. I can't do it. I can't come up with a single sentence. There's a reason I failed creative writing," she said somberly.

"I really don't think that's the problem," interected Luna.

"That's it! I'll just go see, Jadeite-o from the Midnight Zero radio show, and I'll get him to tell me exactly how you go about writing a Love Letter!" she said with excitement in her eyes.

Luna was confused.

"Okay! Let's go Luna!" Usagi said to her, and she raced out of the house with her feline companion.

When she arrived, she seemed confused.

"What? but this is the FM 10 radio station, isn't it?" she asked the security guard.

"Yes, but we don't do a program called Midnight Zero here, and we never have," he replied.

She was about to question him further, but was soon ushered away. But as she was about to leave, she glanced up at the radio station, just as Sora approached her from his hiding spot.

"Now that's just strange," she said.

"You're right, it is strange," replied Sora.

Back at home, the clock tolled midnight, and the Midnight Zero program began airing.

"Good evening, it's time for Midnight Zero," Jadeite-o said through the radio on Usagi's table.

"Aha, I knew I was right, the show is on! That security guard flat out lied to me!" she said triumphantly.

But Sora still had that suspicious look on his face, as he glanced at Luna.

"This whole situation is very strange. According to the schedule in the newspaper, FM 10 is supposed to be airing a different program right now," the violet cat said to them.

"Well that's clearly some kind of mistake. I mean it's on right now, we're hearing it," replied Usagi.

"All right, our first letter this evening is from Naru, who lives in Juban," said the announcer.

"Naru!?" Sora and Usagi asked in disbelief.

Inside the radio station, Jadeite was reading a script as he spoke into the microphone, as a technician began operating the controls for the midnight zero program.

"I think it's great she's destined to find love," said Jadeite as he held a flower brooch that looked like the one Miss Haruna had on her person.

The next morning at Juban Municipal Middle School, all the students and teachers greeted each other, as they went to their respective classrooms. In Miss Haruna's classroom, Naru and a handful of her friends, were looking at a present she had received last night.

"So that's the flower brooch, huh?" asked one.

"That's right, I just got it this morning," replied Naru.

"Hurry up, Naru, open it already," begged Usagi.

Once Naru opened it up, Sora saw that it looked very similar to the brooch Miss Haruna wore, and his expression darkened even further.

"Wait, that looks exactly the flower brooch Miss Haruna had on before," said Usagi.

"So that letter we heard from Haruna in love?" asked another of their classmates.

"Was she our Miss Haruna?" asked the first girl.

"Yeah, I guess so," replied Usagi.

"I knew it," Sora said to himself, as he glanced at Naru placing the brooch onto the collar of her uniform.

Then suddenly, he saw the flower glowing, and witnessed the same thing that happened to Miss Haruna.

"Huh, for some reason, all of a sudden, I'm sleepy," Naru said as she became drowsy.

"What's wrong, Naru?" Sora and Usagi asked together.

But she soon fell asleep, causing her friends to try and wake her up. But Sora soon walked off with a dark cold glare in his eyes.

"Hey, where are you going?" Umino asked him.

Sora was about to explain, when he sensed that Usagi was ensnared by the flower brooch taking hold of Usagi, as she tried to wake her up. She became so drowsy, that she fell asleep on the floor.

"Usagi!" he gasped.

He ran to her side.

"Usagi! Usagi! Open your eyes!" he called to her as he gently shook her.

Everyone else called to her as well, as they all shared Sora's concern for their classmate.

"Come on, Usagi! You gotta wake up!" Sora cried out in desperation.

(Play My Heart's Descent from Dream Drop Distance for this part here)

Usagi soon felt herself floating down onto a stained glass panel below her. When she landed on her feet, she saw someone standing before her.

"Is that?" she gasped in surprise.

There standing before her, was Tuxedo Mask.

"Uh, Tuxedo Mask, do you think that by any chance you are my future boyfriend?" she asked him.

But the caped crusader said nothing, even as her inner thoughts began to make think she had finally said it.

"It seems that way," he said in her mind, as he faced her.

Usagi began celebrating her happiness and joy at what she heard.

"Tuxedo Mask, if you're really my boyfriend, then let me see your face," she said to him.

"With pleasure," replied Tuxedo Mask.

Usagi's heart rate began to accelerate as she watched the man of her dreams, slowly but surely remove his mask to reveal his eyes that were hidden underneath, when Luna's voice suddenly woke her up, by screaming her name in her ear. This was enough to make her jump in surprise, and land on the cot, sending Luna flying, but she landed safely on it.

(Music stops here with the sound of a record needle scratching)

"Oh thank goodness you're awake," the cat said with relief in her voice.

"Did you enjoy your nap, Sleeping Beauty?" Sora asked sarcastically.

"Very funny, guys," Usagi said in a sarcastic tone.

She glanced at Naru, with a concerned look in her eyes.

"You guys, it's time for us to investigate this. I think that there's something nefarious going on at that radio station," Luna said to them.

The two friends nodded to Luna. Meanwhile, Jadeite was marveling at the amount of life energy his minion had managed to collect.

"We've gathered a considerable amount of life energy," she said to him.

"It appears our experiment was a success. Who could have guessed that the hearts of girls in love held such incredibly powerful energy," replied Jadeite.

The dark being in human disguise smirked at him.

"We simply put them to sleep using that innocent looking flower brooch, and then we syphon off their dreams of love. This tool of yours is very useful. I believe it's time to begin tonight's Midnight Zero show," the blonde warlord said to her.

Once Usagi, Sora, and their friends arrived at the radio station they looked around the corner to see the same security guard.

"Guys, how are we going to get in? The guard will just stop us like before," she asked in an audible whisper.

"Oh, I've got this," she replied.

Then with a great leap, she soon summoned what looked like a pen that landed on the ground.

"Whoa, what is that?" she asked in shock.

"Just a little something to help you," replied Luna.

Sora and the others noticed the pen, and they were curious about it as well.

"So, uh… is that some kind of pen?" he asked the cat.

"It's cute!" squeaked Usagi, as she picked it up and looked carefully at it.

"What exactly can this pen do?" Riku asked Luna.

"That is a new item of power for Usagi to use. It'll change her appearance. She can disguise herself as someone who works here," explained Luna.

"Really? How does it work? What do I do?" she asked excitedly.

"You just have to shout, 'Moon Power,' and then say what you want to look like," replied Luna.

"For example, if you use it to turn yourself into a potential Keyblade wielding apprentice, or an attendant for a luxurious manor. Just think of something that pops into your head," added Sora.

"Ah, I see. Here goes," she said.

She raised the pen into the air.

"Moon Power! Turn me into a gorgeous newscaster!" she called to the heavens.

She was soon bathed in light, and her appearance changed into what she had said. Then she carefully looked at herself from top to bottom.

"So cool, I'm all disguised now," she said excitedly.

"Really, did you need to add the gorgeous part Usagi?" Luna asked sarcastically.

"Yeah, now let's get going. Come on," replied Usagi, as she put on a pair of shades and strutted away.

"Hmm… not bad, she might actually pull this off," murmured Luna.

"Yeah," replied Sora, but he spoke too soon.

Usagi suddenly tripped and fell over.

"Or not," Luna said quickly, making everyone snicker at her.

"Good evening all, now once again it's time for Midnight Zero," Jadeite said into the microphone, unaware that Usagi and Luna were watching him.

"That must be Jadeite-o! Oh my gosh, he's so dashing!" she said excitedly.

"What are you talking about, he's the enemy," hissed Luna.

"Aw, does he have to be?" whined Usagi.

Luna turned slowly, and noticed that all of the staff were unconscious.

"He's taken over the show!" gasped Luna.

"You're right! Okay!" Usagi said determinedly, as she pulled up her sleeve, and marched through.

"Hey, we're on the air!" the woman said to her, but Usagi just ignored her, as she marched into the studio.

Suddenly, Jadeite stopped reading his script, when he heard the door opening and saw Usagi march into the recording studio. She sat down on the chair opposite of him.

"But first we have to interrupt this program to bring you some breaking news," Usagi said into the microphone.

Jadeite was furious. But he didn't know that Sora and his friends had followed Usagi into the building.

"The flower brooches that this radio program has been sending out to its listeners are extremely dangerous. If you receive one, don't touch it under any circumstances!" continued Usagi.

"That's a lie!" protested Jadeite.

"Everyone, take a moment and think about it. Love letters are completely meaningless, unless you're giving to the person that you're writing to. Stop dreaming!" Usagi said furiously.

"Hey, I was the one who said that," gasped Luna.

"Then it looks like Usagi decided to take those words you said to heart," said Sora.

"Who are you?" demanded Jadeite, as he glared at the disguised Usagi.

Suddenly the glass shattered, and the woman burst into the recording room.

"Jigs up, Luna! We've been compromised!" Sora said quickly, as he summoned his keyblade and prepared for battle.

"I won't let you get away with this!" she said as she changed into her true form.

It was Furau: Jadeite's newest minion. Luna now knew it was truly a vicious monster spawned from the darkness, and had a full battalion of Heartless at her side. She began firing energy beams from her mouth, forcing Usagi to run, but the explosions began sending her flying about in all directions.

"Get to the roof! Hurry!" Sora called out to his friends.

The others nodded, and fought their way through the Heartless so as to keep Usagi and Luna safe from harm as they were sent flying.

"Quickly Usagi, transform!" cried Luna.

"Moon Prism Power: Make up!" Called Usagi.

She soon changed into Sailor Moon.

"I'm the Pretty Guardian who fights for love and justice! I'm Sailor Moon!" she declared in a loud clear voice.

Then the smoke cleared, as Jadeite chuckled with Furau at his side. Then Sora turned and faced them with his Keyblade held at the ready.

"Trapping all the innocent hearts of young girls in love is crossing the line! And this isn't a crosswalk!"

"Uh, cut it down with all the crosswalk parts," Luna said to her.

Oh yeah. But anyway, in the name of the Moon, I'm punishing you!" Sailor Moon said with determination in her eyes.

"Got it memorized!?" Axel called down to them.

"So it's you. You're the ones who've been getting in our way, huh?" smirked Jadeite.

"So what? At least we know who to blame for it!" replied Sora, as he got into his battle stance.

"And I guess you're the leader of the bad guys!" added Sailor Moon.

"Yes, my name is Jadeite!" replied the warlord.

"Prepare yourselves, you cursed fools!" shouted Furau.

She fired an energy blast from her mouth, but Sora jumped in its path.

"Look out!" he cried.

He easily deflected it with his Keyblade, sending it up to the ceiling. The resulting explosion created an opening for them to escape through, but Furau followed them.

"No! You won't escape!" she snapped.

Suddenly Sora glanced back and saw Furau rising into the air.

"Sailor Moon! Behind you!" called Sora.

When she heard Sora's warning, Sailor Moon panicked as she saw the demon charging at her.

"Here's where you meet your end!" roared Furau.

She began firing more energy beams at her, while Sora's friends fought off the heartless, as Sailor Moon evaded the monster's attacks, by running this way and that.

"You sure are persistent!" she wailed in dismay.

But Furau had managed to cut her off, and was about to strike her down, when Sora struck at her with his keyblade.

"Fight back, Sailor Moon! Use Moon Tiara Action!" called Luna.

So Sailor Moon did. But her attack missed Furau completely, making Luna panic.

"Missed me you little pest!" guffawed Furau.

"Oh really?" Sora asked with a smirk.

Then Sailor Moon redirected her attack right back at her, and it struck her from behind, instantly destroying her.

"Bullseye!" cheered Sora, as Jadeite glared furiously at where his minion fell.

He turned slowly to face them.

"So you wish to try your luck against me?" he asked.

Sailor Moon unleashed Moon Tiara Action against him, but the blonde warlord stopped it completely.

"Agh! No fair!" complained Sailor Moon, as her Tiara fell to the ground.

"That's it!" shouted Sora.

He charged right at him, but Jadeite sent him back with a powerful burst of darkness.

"SORA!" cried Sailor Moon and Luna.

"I'm okay! Just take him down!" shouted Sora.

"With pleasure!" replied Sailor Moon, as she charged at Jadeite.

But the warlord erected a barrier that sent her flying back.

"Sailor Moon!" called Luna, as she collapsed onto the ground in a crumpled heap.

Jadeite slowly advanced towards her, a cruel sadistic smile upon his face. Then suddenly, Sailor Moon noticed a spiky-blond haired swordsman appearing behind him.

"Jadeite! Stop!" he called to him.

"A little late to the party, aren't you, Cloud?" he asked as he stopped in his tracks.

"Cloud?" Sailor Moon asked in confusion.

"Do you honestly believe you can convince me to spare her from my wrath?" Jadeite asked the swordsman, as he leered at Sailor Moon, who was cowering in fear.

He slowly took another step forward making her flinch.

"No!" gasped Cloud, and drew his sword upon Jadeite.

Sailor Moon saw that it had a single edge, but looked more like a giant carving knife as Cloud held it near Jadeite's neck.

"Raising a blade against me?" he asked.

Cloud didn't answer him.

"Very well, you leave me no choice," Jadeite said furiously as he turned to face Cloud.

Sailor Moon watched as the two men engaged in a deadly clash of blades. Lunging at Jadeite, Cloud catapulted towards him with his sword in hand and struck at him with everything he had against him. Jadeite sent him back with a powerful counter attack, but Cloud quickly recovered and jumped to one side of him. He was about to strike him down, when Jadeite stopped his attack with his own sword. Both men swung their swords furiously at each other, producing a shower of sparks in their deadly duel. Then Cloud attempted to catch Jadeite off guard by feinting an attack to his right, then brought his sword right to his left. Jadeite anticipating the deflected the killing blow and jumped clear of another. Cloud furiously lunged at him, and attempted to stab him in the chest, but Jadeite casually threw off that attack by deflecting it as well. Again and again, Cloud struck more furiously at him with his sword, until they entered a bladelock that caused sparks to fly everywhere.

"Not yet," Jadeite said, as he saw Cloud's angry glare.

He soon forced him back, then sent Cloud's sword flying into the air that it landed a safe ten feet away from Sailor Moon who was surprised to see it embedded on the roof. Then, Jadeite slowly walked past him.

"That's enough for now. There will be time later to take your life in trade for this betrayal," he said to Cloud, as he faded into the corridor of darkness.

Cloud turned away from Sailor Moon, and recovered his Buster Sword.

"Hey… thanks for saving my life back there," Sailor Moon said as she slowly got back onto her feet.

"It's no big deal," replied Cloud.

"No, really. I thought I was done for. So, hey, I'm Sailor Moon. You're one of the good guys too, huh?" Sailor Moon said curiously.

"Actually, no. I'm on the other side," Cloud said dismissively.

"Wait a minute, you fought one of your allies? Why?" asked Luna.

"I felt like it," sighed Cloud.

"You felt like it?" Sailor Moon asked, with a confused look on her face.

Cloud nodded at her.

"Lemme get this straight. You rescue your enemies when the mood strikes you?" Luna asked curiously.

"Something like that," replied Cloud.

"Guess it would make sense for warriors of darkness to be a little unpredictable. Still surprises me, though," said Sailor Moon, as she smiled at him.

"Speaking of which, you haven't told us your name," piped in Luna.

Cloud hesitated for a moment as he looked away from them.

"My name is Cloud," he said.

"Cloud…" Sailor Moon said, with a look of wonder in her eyes.

Cloud still didn't look at her.

"Oh, sorry," she said with a light giggle.

But she quickly composed herself.

"So, Cloud. Are you- I mean- do we know each other? I can't remember much of anything from before… all this. But when I heard your name, I thought we might-" Sailor Moon said as Sora slowly stood up.

"No. I've never met you before," Cloud said in a serious tone.

"No, huh? Sorry, but a girl's gotta ask," replied Sailor Moon.

"Anyway, thanks again for saving Sailor Moon's skin. The way you showed up and fought Jadeite off. It was a pretty interesting battle to see. You were like a knight, charging valiantly into battle to save a princess from the darkness," said Luna.

Even Sailor Moon and Sora had to agree.

"Yeah, you really gave it all you had against Jadeite," said Sora.

"Since you're one of Jadeite's many allies, I guess that means we'll have to fight each other eventually," added Sailor Moon.

"I guess so," replied Cloud.

This made Sailor Moon feel a bit sad.

"I don't know if I can bring myself to think of you as an enemy," she said with a sad smile.

"Well you sure better try. Once you start second guessing, you're done for. We're enemies, no matter how you look at it. We have to fight. But for now, you should head back and live your life, before I have another change of heart," warned Cloud.

Both Sailor Moon and Luna blinked in confusion, as Tuxedo Mask saw Cloud holstered his weapon.

"I'm not in a fighting mood today. Go. You should leave while you have the chance," he said in a mixture of seriousness and sadness.

"Before you… change your mind?" asked Sailor Moon.

"Yes," replied Cloud.

But as Sailor Moon was about to leave, she glanced sympathetically at him.

"Cloud? Will I see you again?" she asked.

"You will. But the next time we meet will be as enemies. I won't go easy on you," replied Cloud.

"Thanks for the warning," Luna said quietly, as she, Sailor Moon, Sora, and their friends raced off into the distance.

"Thank you, Cloud," Tuxedo Mask said softly, as he disappeared into the moonlit night sky.

Once your memories return, you'll lose the will to fight just like I have. So… before that can happen, I have to go into hiding... thought Cloud.

Then he jumped off the roof of the radio station, and landed on his motorcycle, Fenrir.

"Sora, you and your friends should keep protecting Sailor Moon and Luna. My primary target is Sephiroth," he said to himself, as he started the engine, and raced down the city streets.

The next morning, Miss Haruna and all the people that had been afflicted by the sleeping spell all slowly awoke with confused looks on their faces. Then later, at school, Usagi was now writing a letter to Tuxedo Mask, when Naru snatched it from her.

"You're really still writing love letters?" she asked nonchalantly.

"You know that Midnight Zero is officially shut down now," added Sora.

"That doesn't matter, I'm giving it to someone directly," protested Usagi.

"Not from where we're standing," said Riku, as Usagi tried to pry it out of Naru's hands.

But Naru just walked off with Usagi still begging her to return her notepad to her.

"Good morning everyone, I wanted to say that I'm sorry for making everyone worry about me," said Miss Haruna when she arrived.

"It's no big deal," replied Sora.

But her words were soon drowned out by the sound of Usagi's voice begging for Naru to return it to her love letter she was writing.

"A love letter?" Miss Haruna asked curiously, and began chasing after them, making Sora and his friends laugh at the scene in front of them.
