Staying together
Fangirl448 asked for a oneshot of someone saying "See Emma? Everything's going to be fine."
I paced back and forth in my room growing more and more anxious by the second. I hated being left out of battles at the best of times, but now knowing Charming hadn't been seen on the battlefield for two days made it even worse. I frowned, stroking a hand down my rapidly growing belly.
"Don't worry, Emma, your daddy's going to be just fine." I promised her. Fat lot of good it would do. She was inside me, she could feel my heart racing, which wasn't any good for her at all. I was torn. I knew nobody wanted me on the battlefield when I was so close to giving birth, I was fast approaching the final trimester, but at the same time, I needed Charming. I couldn't do this without him. Pregnant or not, I could whoop ass. My speciality was archery, they would never see me coming. Me, and Emma, would both be fine. That's if Charming didn't kill me for taking our daughter into a battle before she was even born. "In fact, we're going to be the ones to save him. How about that then, huh?" I cooed down to her, rubbing my belly. Suddenly, I felt a sharp kick. I took a sharp breath. "Is that your way of saying: 'daddy told us not to leave, mommy, so we should be listening to him.' You're not even born yet and you're totally a daddy's girl." I grumbled. "Well, don't you fret, Emma. I'm going to keep you safe, and I'm going to make sure your daddy's safe too." I promised her. My baby girl would know her daddy.
Without breathing a word to anyone (although I did leave a note), I slipped out of the palace and towards where I knew Charming had last been spotted. The battle seemed to be drawing to a close. Thankfully, looking like our side was winning. That brought little comfort to me. Not when I still couldn't see Charming, no matter where I looked. He wasn't dead though, I could just feel it. I frowned.
"Where are you, Charming?" I sighed to myself. I knew he wouldn't leave our men behind.
"The question is, why aren't you back at the palace, Snow White?" I quickly whipped my head around. A massive smile spread across my face.
"Charming." I sighed in relief, quickly closing the distance between us and pressing my lips passionately against his. He was clearly roughed up, and I still had no clue where he had disappeared off to, but right now, all I cared about was that he was here. I pulled back and stared deeply into his (confused) eyes. I was just so happy to see him again. I smiled down, stroking my thumb gently across my belly.
"See Emma? Everything's going to be fine." I told her. Charming just looked even more confused. I couldn't help but laugh. Right now, I didn't care if he was cross with me for coming to search for him. What mattered was that my family was back together again.
