Chapter 11
Usagi vs Rei: Nightmare in Dreamland
The sun shone down on the Hikawa Shrine, as Usagi, Rei, Ami, Sora, and the Guardians of Kingdom Hearts all assembled before Luna.
"Ah, it's encouraging to know that we now have three Sailor Guardians, and thirteen Warriors of Light. But we mustn't let our guard down. The real battle's just begun, and it's going to get tougher," said Luna.
But none of the girls were paying attention to a word she said. Usagi and Luna began fighting over the Sailor V Manga, while Ami was reading an encyclopedia. But Usagi and Rei's infighting was causing something within Sora to stir and overtake him completely, making him stand up and cause both girls to look at him.
"USAGI! REI! CEASE YOUR INFIGHTING BEFORE I SEND WORD TO MASTER YEN SID ABOUT YOUR SITUATION!" he shouted, causing the darkness to burst through the roof of her shrine as he brandished his keyblade.
Luna was aghast, but she was curious about that name. At the same time, Usagi and Rei huddled next to each other feeling a new wave of fear that made them tremble before Sora's unyielding rage.
"Master Yen Sid?" she asked Goofy.
"Yen Sid is the King's Teacher," he said.
"I see," replied the dark colored Cat.
"And I've heard what Sora said quite clearly," a voice came from behind them.
(Play Magical Mystery for this part when Master Yen Sid is with them)
Usagi, Rei, and Ami all turned and faced Yen Sid who slowly walked up to them with a serious look on his face.
"As for what I will say to you, Usagi Tsukino and Rei Hino, If the two of you are unable to set aside your differences, you'll have granted your foes an opportunity to take advantage of your situation, and destroy everything that you hold most dear to your hearts," he said sternly to them.
"That's right. Overcoming your social differences must come first, before you're ready to face the challenges that await you," added Xion, who glanced sorrowfully at them.
Both Usagi and Rei nodded in agreement at their words, then they bowed their heads in shame.
"We're sorry, Master Yen Sid, sir," they said.
"Good, now onto the matter at hand," Yen Sid said motioning to Luna.
But she suddenly bowed respectfully to him.
"Master Yen Sid, it's been far too long, my old friend," she said to him, making everyone surprised.
"It is good to see you as well, Luna. However, while I am aware that you have located the first three Sailor Guardians, there are still two more to locate while you continue your search for both the Princess and the Legendary Silver Crystal. Only then, will it be used to defeat the darkness that your adversaries wield as their weapon," the former Keyblade Master said as he gazed sternly around him.
He then extended his hand before him and a book suddenly appeared in front of Ami who was most surprised.
"This book contains knowledge that you will need for your journey. Study it carefully," Yen Sid said to them.
Ami nodded as Yen Sid gave her a respectful glance.
"Once you have finished, we will speak of the enemies you will surely confront," he added.
Ami nodded and read each page carefully, her eyes filled with wonder at what she had seen in the book Yen Sid presented to her, then she glanced up at him.
"Master Yen Sid, sir, how come the Heartless are still running amok?" she asked.
Everyone else nodded in agreement.
"Sora's past endeavors did prevent an immense effusion of Heartless from the great darkness: make no mistake about that. However, the Heartless are darkness made real- and darkness yet lingers in every heart. The Heartless are fewer. But while darkness exists in a single heart, it will be difficult to eliminate them," replied Master Yen Sid.
"I see, then that must mean… If everyone's hearts were full of light, the Heartless would simply cease to exist," said Rei.
"Precisely Rei Hino. But as long as you and Usagi Tsukino continue to let your infighting spiral out of control, the Heartless will most certainly come after you. Allow me to show you what would happen if you let it continue," warned Yen Sid.
He extended his left hand towards the wall, and a projection of Usagi and Rei appeared before them.
"That's us as Sailors Moon and Mars," they said.
Then suddenly the image of them vanished and was replaced by a Shadow Heartless.
"If the two of you continued to let the darkness turn you against each other, Then you would both become a Heartless. But you know this," Yen Sid said to them in a serious tone.
"Yes, Sora and his friends told me about the Heartless," replied Rei.
"The Heartless are always lurking and ever seeking to capture new hearts. Never let your guard down!" Yen Sid said sternly to her.
"We won't, I swear it!" Rei said determinedly.
"Good," Yen Sid replied.
Then he turned to Ami.
"I've studied everything that I could in that book, and I've learned from these pages that Sora defeated a Keyblade Master who went by the name of Xehanort," said Ami.
"Yes, that he did, Ami Mizuno. However, because of his misuse of the Power of Waking, Sora was transported to an unknown world called Quadratum. A world that is beyond our understanding, and where light and darkness have no meaning whatsoever. But he did tell me of a boy called Yozora, who was tasked by Luxord, the Gambler of Fate, to test Sora's mettle in that world after he faded from existence. Thankfully, Riku was able to find him. But in doing so, he was forced to have Quadratum brought to the realm of light, after helping Yozora find a woman called Stella, in exchange for safe passage out of that world," explained Yen Sid.
"Quadratum. A strange name for an unknown world," mused Luna.
"From what I've learned, quadratum is latin for Square," whispered Ami.
As they converse quietly, Master Yen Sid turned and faced Usagi.
"Now then, Usagi Tsukino. Or rather, Sailor Moon. Chosen Sailor Guardian of love and justice! I have a task for you, and you must acknowledge it. Do not let your personal differences with Sailor Mars hinder your progress, or you will be forced to endure the consequences that would befall the both of you," warned Yen Sid.
"I understand, sir," replied Usagi.
"We both do, Master Yen Sid," added Rei.
"Because of your previous endeavours, your enemies have allied themselves with three people you've already met," Yen Sid told them.
He then presented projections of three adversaries of the people that Sora and his friends knew.
"Maleficent and Pete are continuing to gather new and more dangerous allies for their council of darkness, and have allied themselves with beings who are harvesting the souls of every individual they see to resurrect a being of pure darkness. What that being is, I cannot say. But you must be cautious when dealing with them," Yen Sid told them.
"As you may or may not know, they are known as Maleficent, Pete, and Sephiroth. They seem to be working with a guy called Jadeite who's harvesting energy from those people, and sacrificing some of them by having their hearts be served to the Heartless on a silver platter," said Riku.
"Essentially, yes Riku. That is why the task of locating the Princess must come first. But seeing as neither Luna nor I have any information as to where she is, it is a very important task. But do not forget the warning I have given you," Yen Sid told them.
"He's right, you two. If you can't set aside your social differences, you might end up becoming just like Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Vakama and Matau, Thor and Loki, Hagaromo and Hamura, Indra and Asura, Madara and Hashirama, Jiraya and Orochimaru, Naruto and Sasuke, Cloud and Sephiroth, Dante and Vergil, and worst of all, Eraqus and Xehanort. Some of them were unable to overcome those differences, but they were still able to. But if you choose to embrace darkness as your friend, then you'll end up hurting those you cherish, especially those who you consider to be immature like myself, Usagi, Roxas, Ven, and Anakin." added Sora.
Luna looked sympathetically at Sora, and saw the disappointment in his eyes. Then she turned to look at both Rei and Usagi who were most distraught at what they heard.
"Sora's right. If you embrace the darkness, you've become your own worst enemy," she said.
The two girls nodded in agreement, then glanced at Sora.
"If what you say is true, I'll follow you into the battle anywhere Sora. Even since you carry a tiny sliver of Usagi's immaturity within your heart," said Rei.
Sora nodded to her with an understanding smile, which made Luna surprised, but made Ami smile at them.
"Well, in that case let's focus on our other mission, until Luna can gather some more information about the princess," said Ami.
"I agree with Ami, your other mission may be a first priority, which is to protect the people from the darkness that still permeates the area around us. But that doesn't mean you should force yourselves to embrace the roles you've been given right away," added Aqua.
"Yeah, great idea you two," replied Luna.
Yen Sid nodded in agreement at what he heard.
"I would have it no other way. Until then, may your hearts be your guiding key," he said, before returning to his tower.
Once he was gone, Ami presented a newspaper that had an image of an amusement park.
"Take a look at this," she said.
"Oh, that's Dreamland," Usagi said excitedly.
"Dreamland?" asked Sora and Luna.
"You know, the new amusement park," replied Usagi.
"Oh, right," Sora said disappointedly.
"Hmm… Based on what I just read, strange things have been happening down there lately," said Ami.
"What kind of things?" asked Rei.
Ami looked at the text and began to read it.
"In the past week, fifty people in Dreamland have disappeared without a trace," Ami said to them.
"Those disappearances are a very serious matter. I can only assume that Jadeite must be behind it," Riku said to them.
In the citadel of the Dark Kingdom, Queen Beryl was furious at what she had seen from her scepter. It was an image of the three Sailor Guardians, and the thirteen Guardians of Kingdom Hearts.
"Hmm… I never expected the appearance of a third Sailor Guardian," she said.
"It was reckless of you to let this one make her presence known to us, Jadeite. Remember, if you allowed them to find the Silver Crystal, everything Queen Beryl has worked hard to complete will pretty much come to ruin. However, if you continue to waste her time, then she may have no alternative but to make examples," added Maleficent.
"I've already begun another plan to collect a huge amount of human energy," Jadeite said desperately.
"Have you now?" asked Sephiroth.
"And all those foolish heroes I've seen won't be a problem, once I've eliminated them," replied the warlord.
"Well, okay then, but you better be sure of that when you turn them into Heartless by then," said Pete.
"Or else, I'll make you serve as an example of my wrath," Beryl added viciously, making Jadiet flinch.
At Dreamland, many people were riding on various rides that seemed fun and exciting to some people, but at the Management office of the Information PA, Jadeite, disguised as a security guard was telling many reporters that the theme park had no involvement in the disappearance of the fifty people that came to the park. The reporters were unsure of it, but Jadeite informed them that the security guards had done some investigating of their own, but told them the number of people who left was still the same as the number of people that were still in the park. They were about to press him for more information, as Sora and his friends overheard their conversation, only to retreat as Jadeite shoved them out the door, making Sora glare furiously at him as he walked back inside the info building.
"That's it! he's gonna pay for this!" he said furiously, preparing to brandish his keyblade.
"Stand down, Sora. Getting revenge won't make anyone happy," Luna assured him.
"That's right, you warned us about how darkness comes from anger and hatred, especially since you told us about all the other people you met on some of your previous adventures," added Ami.
They decided to continue walking through the park, but Usagi tended to lag behind them.
"If the same number of people enter and exit, then are they going missing when they're going home?" asked Rei.
Ami wasn't sure why, but Luna had to speak her mind.
"I think it's strange that everyone who's gone missing has come to this park," said the dark colored cat.
"Luna's right, guys. We need to be cautious, or we could end up like them and be transformed into Heartless. Or worse, it could result in something terrible that could affect me in a negative way, which could leave Rei no alternative but have Vanitas exorcised from my heart," added Sora.
This made Rei mildly sad as she stopped and looked at him.
"Don't worry Sora. Even if you did transform into this Vanitas, I'm sure your friends would be able to bring you back to your senses," she assured him, making Sora's friends nod in agreement.
"Hey, Usagi's gone. Where did she go?" Ami asked them.
"I think I have a pretty good idea where she is," said Terra, as he pointed behind them.
"I doubt she is," replied the bluette.
"Hey guys!" Usagi called out to them.
Everyone saw that she was riding on the carousel, which of course made Sora smile at her.
"I'm glad you're having fun, Usagi. But as much as I hate to admit it, we still have a job to do," he said, making Luna relieved.
Although Rei hated to admit it, she knew that Sora was right, as they all gathered around the park bench.
"Honestly, what were you thinking Usagi?" she said in a mildly annoyed tone.
"Sorry, I just got carried away," replied Usagi.
"Get your act together! You call yourself a hero of light!?" snapped Rei shoving Usagi off the bench.
"That's not fair, Rei! Don't take it out on Usagi! It's not like she wants to have fun because of how alike we are!" Sora snapped back, as he felt the darkness beginning to take hold of his heart.
"Oh yeah!? And why do you think I should trust a Keyblade Master who's just like Usagi!?" demanded Rei.
"Because unlike you, I only choose to have fun when I decide to take a break from my duties as a Keyblade Master! And as long as you continue to have doubts about Usagi, then you might end up making the same mistakes as some of those people I mentioned!" yelled Sora.
"Oh, real mature Sora! I don't know where you get the gall about how alike you and Usagi are, and as far as you're concerned, I really don't care about that stuff either!" shouted Rei.
"STOP IT! I CAN'T STAND IT!" Donald quacked angrily, and he began swinging his staff at them like a club in a blind rage, making everyone worried about him.
"Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Donald calm down! Don't hurt them! You're not thinking straight!" cried Ami.
The others nodded and tried to hold him back, but Donald was slowly losing his edge.
"Everyone, Sorry," he said somberly.
"Don't feel bad, Donald. If anyone can keep these guys in line, it won't just us, but Master Yen Sid as well," replied Riku.
But suddenly Sora heard the roar of a lion, making Usagi scramble back at them. But Sora didn't flinch when he heard the lion's roar.
"Whoa, he reminds me of Simba," he said
"Good day," the lion said to them.
"Hey there," replied Sora.
"It- it talked," Rei and Usagi said in surprise.
Yep, and he even sounds very much like Mufasa," replied Sora.
"Wait, Mufasa?" asked the two girls.
"Mmhmm… After Mufasa's father passed the role of king to him, his brother Scar was consumed by both hatred and jealousy. But when Simba, the son of Mufasa and Sarabi was born, Scar's hatred became too strong for him to hold back. He chose to accept that hatred, and began making plans to usurp the throne, just so he could take it for himself. But, he needed help from a pack of scavenging hyenas, just so he could get rid of them. That's when he ordered them to make a herd of wildebeest stampede into a gorge, trick his Mufasa into saving his son, and strike him down when he was at his moment of weakness. When he did, Scar decided to place all the blame on Simba for letting his father die, telling him to run away and never return. But when he did, Scar gave the hyena's the go ahead to finish the job, while he returned to Pride Rock to take control of the kingdom. But if it hadn't been for us, Simba would have never been able to challenge Scar for the throne, And he'd never be able to reclaim his rightful place as King of the Pride Lands. But, I'm glad he did. So, you see, you shouldn't let yourselves be driven apart by hatred. People who let hatred guide their actions will lash out at each other, and sever their bond with each other," Sora explained to them, in a tone of voice that brooked no arguments.
Then they heard the light giggle of a young girl who approached them.
It's all right. you see, this lion is merely animatronic," she said.
"Gotcha," said Sora as he turned to face her.
"Ah, you're Princess Dream! I've always wanted to meet you!" Usagi said excitedly, as she jumped off of Rei.
"Yeah, same here," added Sora, which made Rei mildly annoyed at him.
"Wait, that's a machine?" Ami asked in surprise.
"Yes, it's operated by remote control," replied Princess Dream.
She waved her hand over the apple she held. But then, Rei noticed it glowing and became suspicious. All around them animals of various species approached them.
"Wow," Sora and Usagi said in awe, as the animals approached them.
"I knew it, Sora really is just like Usagi," sighed Rei.
"That's just who he is. But somehow, I can sense a great darkness coming from Princess Dream," Riku said to the raven-haired priestess.
"I think you're right Riku," replied Rei, making Ami look nervously at them.
A bear suddenly flipped Usagi onto it's back, making Sora laugh, but Rei marched towards her and pulled her off the bear.
"Hey, what's gotten into you?" Sora asked, as he glared at her.
"Yeah, what's the big idea?" Usagi asked as well.
"Riku told me that Princess Dream has darkness inside her," whispered Rei.
"Huh? Seriously?" asked Sora and Usagi.
"You probably can't tell because you're both dense," said Rei.
"That may be. But if she did have darkness inside of her, then it could be possible that she might be a Heartless in human disguise. But, Usagi's been at this a bit longer before we met you and Ami," replied Sora in his casual tone.
"In one hour, there's going to be a show at the House of Sweets. I hope you can come watch," Princess Dream said to them.
"Okay!" replied Usagi.
"No sweat Princess, we'll see you there," added Sora.
The house of sweets?" asked Ami.
She indicated the building that was in front of them. It looked like a castle made up of ice cream cones, and several swirling patterns.
"That place looks so amazing! We just have to go check it out!" Usagi said excitedly, as Rei glared furiously at her.
"Yeah," added Sora.
Unbeknownst to them, Jadeite was already waiting patiently as he held a sphere of light containing all the necessary energy he collected.
"Now come to me, you fools, I will drain every last bit of your energy. Those who come inside never come out," he said wickedly.
"You know, nothing strange seems to be going on here," said Usagi.
"You may be right, Usagi. But at the same time, It's still here. It's really faint. But, I can sense him. So, I think his darkness might be coming from the House of Sweets," interjected Riku.
"Let's split into teams and take a look around," suggested Luna.
"Good idea, Luna. smaller groups will help us minimize our chances of being caught at once," said Sora.
"In that case, Aqua and Ami are with me," said Luna.
"Donald, Goofy, you should go with me," said Mickey.
"I'll take Kairi and Namine," Riku said.
"Guess it's just you and me, Ven," Terra said.
"Xion, Roxas and I will also go look for clues," piped in Axel.
"Usagi, you go with Rei," Luna said to her companion.
Usagi was shocked, but Rei huffed grumpily.
"If you don't want to, fine," she said.
"All right," Usagi replied grumpily.
"In that case, I'll go with you guys," interjected Sora.
"Wait, you? But why?" asked Usagi.
"If you wanna know why i'm going with you, it's for three reasons. 1: If the two of you refuse to cooperate with each other, you'll end up making the Heartless take advantage of your situation, and cause a lot of people to get hurt. 2: As long as I'm with you, it'll help you make sure that you never grant the darkness an opportunity to catch you off guard so that they can make you watch as they take their hearts to increase their ranks. And 3: If you're unable to overcome your differences, you'll both have to learn to deal with the consequences Luna might drop on both your heads. But most of all, you better not make me tell Master Yen Sid about your infighting. It could make me a start to become a terrible individual who tattle-tails on you," explained Sora.
He then turned and gave Rei a firm look that made her flinch.
"And as for you, Rei Hino! If you and Usagi continue to act uncooperatively with each other, I will change my mind about going with you! So don't even think of making me change my mind, or you will prepare for unforeseen consequences!" he said to her.
"Okay! Okay! I'll cooperate with you guys!" replied Rei.
Then Ami, Terra, Ventus, Aqua, Riku, Kairi, Namine, Axel, Roxas, Mickey, Donald and Goofy all raced off in separate directions as they bade farewell to their companions. At the same time, Sora turned around and glanced at them.
"Let's go," he said in a serious tone.
The Raven Haired Shrine Maiden and the blonde odango-twin tail nodded in acknowledgement as they walked through the theme park. They could see many children gathering around Princess Dream as they sat at a park bench.
"Are you sure Riku sensed darkness in Princess Dream?" Usagi asked Sora.
"As much as I hate to admit it, I do Usagi," replied Sora, making Rei smile at him.
"Hey, Sora," Rei said to him.
The brunette Keyblade wielder turned to face her.
"It's about what you and Master Yen Sid said about what would happen if Usagi and I had to prepare for these unforeseen consequences from all those people you spoke of." she said in a somewhat somber tone.
Then she hugged him tightly making Usagi surprised.
"Even if I do lose control of my anger, and let darkness into my heart, I need you to banish it with that Keyblade of yours," Rei told him.
Sora nodded as he hugged Rei back, making Usagi believe that she somewhat loved him, but kept quiet about it.
"I'd never let that happen to you, Rei. And neither would Usagi. But if you want to know why, it's because we're friends, no matter what. Also, even though you're aware of how much I remind you of Usagi, that still doesn't change the fact about us being your friends. Because, even if your intuition is correct or not, and even if Usagi doesn't understand, she knows that darkness is nothing more than pure evil," he said to him.
Rei nodded at him with a smile on her face just as Usagi presented a small bunny to them, making Sora nod at her in acknowledgement.
"It does look cute, Usagi," he said to her, which made Rei somewhat annoyed.
But she remembered the warning Master Yen Sid and Sora had told her, which chilled her to the very core of her being. But when she saw a young boy on the bear's back she tried to tell him, which Princess Dream agreed almost instantly. But USagi stepped up and placed him back on the bear's back, only for the two girls to lock horns with each other, which made the boy nervous as they dragged him back and forth in a blind fury. This went on and on, until Sora marched up to them.
"That's enough, you two! Leave him alone!" he shouted.
"I'm afraid I have to agree with this young man," the boy's mother said as she glared down at them.
A while later, they all rode on the Dreamland express with a panda as the driver. Usagi and Sora were both admiring the view as they rode on the train.
"You know, this is really, really embarrassing," sighed Rei.
"What are you kidding me? this is the best way to patrol ever," replied Usagi.
Then suddenly the train stopped and Usagi fell face forward onto Sora who was in front of her.
"Sorry, I just got the signal to stop. Hold tight, we'll have to wait a moment," said the panda.
"It's no big deal," replied Sora, who shrugged his shoulders, as Usagi pulled back and bowed her head to him.
"Sorry, Sora," she said somberly.
But Sora smiled at her, and placed his right hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, Usagi. Sometimes these things happen, especially between friends," Sora said to her.
"That's right," a voice said in agreement.
Sora and Usagi noticed that the guy they had met before was right in front of them.
"Wait a minute, you're that guy we met before," Sora said to him.
"Hey, that's the first thing out of your mouth after your friend headbutted you?" he asked.
"Don't talk trash about Sora, you idiot!" snapped Usagi.
"Wait a minute, you're friends with that bunhead?" the guy asked Sora.
"Don't you dare call her Bunhead! You heartless jerk!" shouted Sora.
"Ah, Bunhead. That suits you Usagi," laughed Rei.
"Now she looks like a steamed bun," the guy said to Rei, making Sora even more angrier than he ever was, as he clenched his fist.
"That's a good one," replied Rei, feeling amused.
Then suddenly Sora unleashed a guttural scream that made Usagi jump in fright.
"If you guys don't stop making fun of Usagi, you'll end up making me set Vanitas free from my heart so that he can kill you before Rei has a chance to have him exorcised!" roared Sora.
"Okay! Okay! Okay! Okay! We get it! We'll stop making fun of her! And we promise not to let you turn into this Vanitas!" replied Rei and the guy.
"Geez, now Sora's starting to sound like Rei," murmured Usagi who was growing worried about him
"But more importantly, why are you riding on the train with us?" Sora asked the guy in a much calmer tone.
"I don't know, I kind of felt like it," he replied.
As the train started again, Usagi stumbled backwards and landed on the seat, as Sora stared grumpily at the guy in front of him.
"Hey you, Panda bot! Enough with all of this stop and go already! All right!?" barked Usagi.
"Stand down, Usagi," Sora said to her.
Then suddenly they heard an announcement for the show that would be starting at the House of Sweets, making Usagi surprised.
"Hey, Panda, can you get us to the next station?" Sora asked politely.
"Of course, seeing as you asked nicely," replied the panda.
"Thank you," Sora said, as Rei leaned towards them from her seat.
"Hey, don't you think that guy in front of us kind of look like Tuxedo Mask?" Rei asked in an audible whisper.
"Maybe, but we won't know for sure unless we see him again. But somehow, I can sense a strong light within his heart. But if we do find Luna, I'm probably gonna ask her to have a serious conversation with you two about showing some self-control," replied Sora, which made Usagi surprised to know that he was agreeing with the raven haired shrine maiden.
"Yeah, I guess so," she said sweetly to the brunette Keyblader.
But at the same time, both she and Rei were startled by the way he spoke to them about how they had to deal with the consequences of letting darkness take advantage of their situation.
A while Later, Sora, Usagi, and Rei all raced to Luna when she heard the two friends calling her name.
"Hey, where'd Ami go?" Usagi asked her feline companion.
"She's inside," replied the cat.
"Hmm… seems kind of strange for her to go inside the House of Sweets without waiting for us," said Sora.
"Yeah, you said it," agreed Usagi.
But they glanced at Rei who had a serious look on her face.
"There's a terrible darkness," she said.
Inside the House of sweets, many children were eating many flavors of cake, ice cream, and all kinds of candy that piqued their curiosity. Ami however, wasn't interested in the food, when Princess Dream's voice caught her attention, while Riku and the remaining guardians of Kingdom Hearts found her.
"Good afternoon, and welcome to the House of Sweets. Now please, make yourselves at home," she said.
Everyone acknowledged her, until she began blowing reddish smoke from between her lips, which began to affect everyone. Unfortunately, she did not expect Donald and Aqua to cast a shield spell to protect them from what was happening to them, as they stood near Ami who was worried about the other people around them. Then suddenly, they noticed the energy being absorbed into the apple and causing most of them to collapse.
"Ami!" cried Riku, and he ran towards her, whilst under the effects of the shield spell.
Then they noticed Princess Dream's wicked glare as Ami collapsed to the ground, now aware of what happened to the previous visitors that came to dream land.
"Wait," Rei said from outside.
"What's the matter?" asked Sora and Usagi.
"Something's happened inside there," replied the shrine maiden.
"AMI!" gasped Sora.
"Sora's right, Ami's in there," said Luna.
They tried to pull the doors open, but it was already sealed shut by a strong lock.
"It's no use," said Rei.
"They must have deadlocked it," added Sora.
Usagi was about to cry for Ami, when Sora placed his arm in front of her.
"We can't let despair stop us! We've got to rescue our friends! And trust me Usagi, Rei and I are both worried about them just as you are! So pull yourself together, get a grip, and set aside your differences! We can't let their transformation into Heartless be the worst kind of consequence that'll haunt you and Rei!" he said firmly.
"Sora," Rei said with a look of surprise on her face.
"Sora's right! Transform now!" cried Luna.
"Mars Power Make Up!" Rei called to the heavens.
In a burst of flame she had now become Sailor Mars.
"Better do the same, Usagi," said Sora.
"Good idea, Sora," she replied.
She raised her hand into the sky.
"Moon Prism Power Make Up!" cried Usagi.
Then her clothes faded away into the light, and she was now Sailor Moon. At the same time she did, Sailor Mars and Sora combined their powers thanks to the connection they shared.
"MEGA FLARE!" they shouted together.
The massive fireball burst out from Sora's keyblade and struck the door, sending debris flying everywhere.
"Follow my lead," Sora said to them.
"Roger!" replied Sailors Moon and Mars, and they raced inside.
"Here come the cursed fools. Today will be their last day," sneered Jadeite.
Once inside the House of Sweets, Sora, Usagi, Rei and Luna ran right smack into Princess Dream.
"Welcome to the House of Sweets. I've been expecting you three," she said.
"We're not gonna lose to you," replied Sora in a serious tone.
But she blew pink smoke at them, transforming the environment around them into a field of flowers.
"Careful, all of this is an illusion," warned Luna.
But then she noticed the heartless appearing in front of her.
"But not these guys," Sora said as he charged right at them, and began cutting them down with unrelenting fury.
At the same time Princess Dream was about to place a crown of flowers on Sailor Moon's head when Sailor Mars shoved it away from her. The crown soon transformed into a snake that sank it's fangs into Rei's arm, making her grimace in pain. Quickly tossing it aside, Rei slowly collapsed to her knees, as she gripped her arm tightly.
"Sailor Mars! I'm sorry, this is all my fault," cried Usagi, while Princess Dream slowly backed away from them.
"No it's not, Sailor Moon! That princess is gonna pay for hurting her!" snapped Sora as he charged at her, with a few Heartless trailing behind him.
"Oh my, How terrible. The venom is spreading, and soon you'll turn to stone just like that snake," said Princess Dream.
"That's it!" shouted Sora, as he prepared to strike her down.
But Rei stopped him.
"I'll be fine, Sora. Don't worry," she assured him.
Pulling out an exorcism, she began to chant with all her heart, then placed on the stone that was on her left hand. It vanished completely, making Luna, Sora, and Usagi relieved.
"That was close," Sora said.
"I couldn't agree more," replied Rei.
Then they turned to the princess.
"And you, show us your true self!" they said together.
"Very well, please wait just one moment," replied Princess Dream, as she dispelled the illusion.
Suddenly her head disappeared into her dress, Making Usagi gasp in shock. Then they heard the sound of a music box and the clicking sound of clockwork gears turning as she changed into her true form. Sora glared angrily at the changing creature, as her head appeared.
"I am the monster Murodo. Pleased to meet you," she said in a formal tone.
"You gotta be kidding me," Sora said to Usagi.
"He has a point," agreed Rei.
Usagi begrudgingly nodded in agreement with Rei's words, as she got serious.
"Listen up monster! You'll pay for taking advantage of the dreams of pure hearted girls!" she snapped angrily.
"You tell her, Sailor Moon!" cheered Sora.
"Thanks, and in the name of the Moon, I'm punishing you!" Usagi said, as she nodded in response to Sora's words.
"Oh, scary, Why don't you all just have another dream," replied Murido.
"All right, then take your best shot Princess!" said Sora.
This time she unleashed an even more powerful burst of smoke that trapped them in a forested area.
"Did you really have to say that to her Sora?" asked Luna.
"It'll be fine, Luna. If we do fall into anymore traps, we'll just have to fight our way out of them," replied Sora.
"I hope you know what you're doing, Sora," said Rei.
"Yeah, same here," agreed Usagi.
Suddenly they heard the sound of clip clopping hooves coming towards them.
'That sounds like horse hooves," Rei said.
"They're getting closer," added Usagi.
"Don't let your guard down," warned Luna.
They watched anxiously as they saw the horse and it's rider approaching them. They both saw it was Tuxedo Mask and began running towards him like giddy fangirls, which made Luna worried about them. Unable to hold back his anger any longer, Sora lunged furiously at Murido, and struck the apple out of her hands, causing the illusion to vanish as the darkness slowly began to overwhelm him.
"If you hurt my friends, I'll make you suffer!" he shouted, snapping Sailors Moon and Mars out of their trance.
From above, Tuxedo Mask had heard everything.
"Good work Sora, now take the girls and find Ami," he said from above, making Murido glance up at him.
Then he left them as quickly as he could, as Sailor Moon glanced nervously at Sora and ran up to him.
"It's okay, Sora! It's over for now!" she said to him.
"I guess I'll have to put you in the dream world now," Murido said after she picked her apple back up.
"Sorry Murido! We're not interested!" Sora said furiously.
Then he turned to his friends.
"Retreat!" he shouted, as Murido sent another burst of pink smoke at them.
Elsewhere, Ami slowly stirred as the other Guardians of Kingdom Hearts looked around them, at the unconscious people lying on the ground.
"Oh boy, I guess I shouldn't have come by myself," she said woozily.
"Don't blame yourself, Ami. None of this is your fault," Roxas assured her.
"Ami! Guys!" Sora and Usagi called out to their friends.
"Sora," everyone said.
"About time," added Riku.
"Sorry," said Sora.
Usagi asked Ami if she was okay.
"Yeah, what happened?" she asked in return.
"Well… We all got transported to the Realm of Sleep," replied Sora.
"Yeah, something like that," added Rei.
But they heard the clicking sound of Murido approaching them from behind. Ami gasped, but Sora growled in anger.
"That apple is what's absorbing everyone's energy," Ami said.
"I know, Ami. So let's finish this!" replied Sora.
They all nodded in agreement, as Ami turned into Sailor Mercury.
(Now Play Courage from Kingdom Hearts 2 for this part)
Everyone all prepared themselves as Murido slowly advanced towards them.
"Now aim for the apple!" Sailor Mercury said to them.
"Okay!" they all replied.
But as the Heartless appeared near her, Sailor Mercury unleashed a full power bubble spray that caught her off guard, while Riku and their friends kept them distracted for as long as possible.
"Huh, where did they go?" asked Murido as she searched through the fog.
But she didn't expect Sailor Mars to place a banishment ward on her face leaving her stunned. Quickly Sailor Moon removed her Tiara and transformed into the golden discus.
"Moon Tiara Action!" cried Sailor Moon.
"Fire Soul!" shouted Sailor Mars.
And now, RAGNAROK!" yelled Sora.
"I can't move!" Murido said in shock as the combined attacks surged towards her, causing a massive explosion that engulfed the area they were in, in a thick cloud of smoke. When it cleared, Murido faded away into dust, that blew away into the four winds.
"We did it," Usagi said happily.
"All right!" cheered Sora.
"Curses! those meddling fools! I'll get them for this!" growled Jadeite, as his fortress faded away.
"Well I hope you learned your lesson. All of you were able to win today because you all fought as a team. However, Sora told me everything that happened between you and Rei, Usagi. So I hope that you understand what happens when you let darkness take advantage of your constant infighting," Luna said.
"Okay! okay! I get it! You don't need to rub it in both mine and Rei's faces Luna!" groaned Usagi.
"Yeah, give us a break already!" agreed Rei.
"Let's just hope that you remember Yen Sid's warning," warned Sora, making them bow their heads to him.
"Yes, Sora," they replied together.
"Thank you Sora, I now have one rant saved for later," Luna said happily.
But as Usagi was about to lash out at Luna, Rei smacked the ice cream cone out of her hands, as they all looked out in dismay.
"Usagi, Rei, I hope my warning is forever engraved in your memory," Yen Sid said from his tower, as he looked out at the stars around him.
