Can't keep the Saviour down
Jade Star asked for a oneshot of *possible Justice League spoilers! Season 6 spoilers!* Emma dying after the final battle and being given a proper funeral. A year later, Snowing find out the dark forces have resurrected their daughter. Snowing reunite with Emma at her grave. Emma laments that she couldn't even rest in death because of her burdons as the Saviour, but she's glad she's getting a second shot at life. She returns with her parents to recover fully.
No parent can ever properly recover from losing a child. There will always feel like a part of them is missing. Like something is never quite right. Snow and Charming certainly did. Emma met her fate as she predicted at the final battle. She died sacrificing herself so that the rest of them could live. She was a Saviour, she saved the people of Storybrooke. Although when she died, she took a piece of her parents' hearts with her.
So when Snow and Charming found out almost a year exactly after her death that it seemed Emma wasn't dead anymore, they didn't know how to feel.
Evil had returned to Storybrooke. Without a Saviour to protect the town, villains began to crawl out of the woodwork and cause havoc. A balance needed to be restored. So the forces of good acted of their own accord due to the overpowering darkness. Storybrooke needed a Saviour. It seemed it was time for Emma to return.
When Emma died, her magic was released into the environment. That powerful magic allowed Emma to return to life. But a year being dead does funny things to a person. So when Snow and Charming rushed to the graveyard to see if what others had said was true, Emma's body might have been there, but her mind was still waking up.
"Emma?" Charming asked shakily, not trusting his eyes. Slowly, Emma turned around. She recognised those voices. Snow and Charming gasped, it was her. They rushed forward to embrace her, but Emma stumbled backwards.
"Ok," Charming said, recognising Emma's apprehension. "Ok, Emma, we'll stay here." He promised. Emma's eyes were wide as she took in her surroundings.
"Emma." She said shakily. Yes, that sounded right. "I'm Emma." Snow and Charming nodded.
"That's right sweetie." Snow said gently. "You're Emma." Emma nodded, flashes of her life coming back to her.
"I'm Emma…and I was the Saviour." She added. Once again, her parents nodded. Emma sighed angrily. Why couldn't she have been left to rest in peace? "I'm not the only Saviour, you know. There are plenty who were still alive. It seems my burden is not over." Emma spat bitterly. Her parents tried not to take that comment to heart. They understood this wasn't their Emma talking. Not yet. But it could be.
"You don't have to do anything you don't want to." Charming promised her. "But Emma…this is your second chance. Our second chance." Slowly, he extended his hand towards his daughter. "Come back with us. Come home. We'll look after you. We're not letting you go ever again." He promised her.
Emma didn't really know what to think. She knew she recognised these people, and from the way they were talking, they seemed to be close with her. She had business to take care of as the Saviour, but she had to sort her head out first. She nodded, wrapping her arms snugly around her chest and slowly shuffling towards them. Snow and Charming shared a look behind Emma's back. They couldn't believe this was really happening. Their baby girl was coming home.
