Chapter 7: Secrets
Quick responses to reviews:
Ohtheoogies: Hey there, Ohtheoogies! Thank you so much for reading my stories, and I'm glad that you like them. Now, to address your concerns, I understand. I know in the context of a modern AU, people are expected to lose their virginity by that age, but I'm a Kataang purist, as in I like it when they're each other's first and preferably first kiss since I don't like the thought of them being with anyone else. So although I'm sorry it annoys you, that's just how I write my stories. As for your other concern, I understand. For the one where Aang is a King and she's a peasant, that was because in my story the Avatar line was set up as a royal institution instead of a reincarnation cycle. And as I mentioned in the story, Katara was once a princess, but lost the title when they moved to Republic city as Hakoda was no longer a chief. For the homeless one, as I mentioned in an author's note, the idea for her to be homeless was not mine, but I enjoyed the idea of Katara being given shelter by Aang and him being able to take care of her, which any stories of him being rich in my stories is basically for that reason, as I imagine he wanted to take care of her like that in the canon universe. I also like the idea of showing how even if Aang is wealthy, he still shows how humble and down to Earth he is. Also, if you're talking about in New Beginnings, she is NOT a hooker. Instead, her pride makes her think that she owes Aang something for taking her in and she believes that the only reason he took her in was for sexual favors, which he then tells her is not the truth at all.
Don't worry! I take no offense to it at all. I can see how you can be doubtful of how I set things up for those scenarios, but I assure you, I think the world of both characters. Truthfully, I like Katara's character just a little more, but I'll spare you the details of why. And if you've read my stories like "Bad Policies" and "A Pirate's Love", you'll see that I also put her in positions of power as well. Trust me, if Aang seems to be in a higher class than her in a story, it's because I have a personal reason that adds to the story for it. Thank you for your constructive criticism, it's nice to hear what I can improve on, and I'm sorry that I have to disagree with you about the Virgin aspect of my stories. I will try to implement more of Katara being more in a position of power in my future stories. Thank you so much for reading and letting me know your thoughts.
UGudBtoXD: Just curious, but why are those two stories among your favorites of mine?
The Raccoon13: It's really not something that you all shouldn't be expecting. I'm not going to say what it is, but once you read it in this chapter, it should be pretty obvious. And yeah, I know. I just thought it might be fun to throw in a little steamy chapter before their relationship gets to that point.
Wil02: Don't worry, you'll find out in this chapter.
Kataangisthebest: I've just read other stories that had lemons in it and worked on it, and thanks to Ashley Barbosa suggesting that I put more detail in it, it made me make it more descriptive like that. So really, when I think about it, I guess you could say that it's thanks to Ashley Barbosa. If you read this, thank you, Ashley!
Disclaimer: I do not own Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Katara sighed happily as she looked at some pictures she had taken with Aang. Their relationship had only been getting better the more time they spent together, and she was rather happy that it was going as well as she had hoped that it would.
It certainly didn't hurt that their new activities made them feel closer than ever. Before they had taken the next step in their relationship, she never would have imagined enjoying it as much as she did, but she enjoyed it greatly. Not only did it feel great, but it gave her an excuse to be close to the young airbender who she liked a great deal.
Though she wasn't really certain if she just liked him or not anymore. The more time they spent together, the more she found herself falling for him, and the more she couldn't help but wonder if she had already fallen in love with him. This wouldn't be hard to believe, as Aang was the most amazing young man she had ever met, but she still couldn't help to be a bit doubtful.
Not because of him, of course, but she just couldn't help but feel like admitting that she loved him already would be too fast for them. The last thing that she wanted was to do anything that would ruin their relationship, and she felt as if telling him that she already loved him might do that. This was stupid, she knew, as Aang wasn't the kind of guy to let something like that ruin their relationship. He wouldn't get scared if she told him and he didn't quite feel that way yet, and although she knew this, she still just couldn't quite shake the fear out of her.
But, the more that she tried to convince herself she hadn't fallen in love with him yet, she couldn't deny how she felt whenever he was around. As soon as she heard the door start to unlock, her mood would immediately get better, so much so that even when she had spent an hour arguing with her brother that she had forgotten all about it when he had gotten back.
As much as she thought that it might be too fast for them, she knew that she loved him, as scary as it might be. But, just because she loved him didn't mean that she had to tell him yet. Despite knowing that Aang wouldn't do anything if she did tell him, she didn't want to make anything weird between them, and instead decided that she would keep it a secret. For the time being, at least.
Though she noticed that it was hard not to tell him sometimes. Especially when he would have a romantic dinner set up for them when she would work later shifts and how he was always there for her to talk to when she had a long day. He was everything that she had ever wanted in a guy, and though she often found that she very much wanted to, she couldn't tell him how she felt yet. It would have to wait until she felt it was the right time.
Just as her thoughts concluded on this, the sound of her phone going off took her by surprise, digging it out of her pocket as she lay down frontwards on her bed to find that none other than the very young man she had been thinking about texted her.
Smiling as she saw this, she opened it up and read aloud. "Kat, hope you're having a good day. From the look of things, I might get off early from my work. How does movie night sound?"
Unable to keep her smile from growing, she texted back. "That sounds great! That movie we went to see but never got to finally came out on dvd."
After a few moments of silence from her waiting not so patiently for him to text back, her phone lit up again as she read his reply. "Cool! Maybe we'll finally be able to see the movie this time." Laughing at his joke, she shook her head and texted back.
"We'll see. ;)" She wasn't usually the kind to demean herself by doing flirty texts, but a lot about her had changed ever since she had started dating Aang. She was nowhere near as prideful as she once had been, she wasn't quite as competitive, and she felt as if he was making her a better person. Which, needless to say, made her love him all the more.
When he responded, she read it out loud. "Yeah, we'll have to see." She could almost hear his chuckle coming from the text. "I gotta go. I'll see you later, Kat!" she finished and smiled as she saw him send her a kissy face, and decided to send one back.
Feeling rather happy with their conversation, she decided to go get herself ready. Sure, this wasn't a date, but she wanted to look good for Aang. Though she noticed that he always seemed to think that she looked good, as he had told her many times that she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen.
Smiling at this thought, she got up and went to her bathroom, deciding that it would be in her best interest to take a shower. She had worked out not long ago, and though deodorant certainly helped, she would rather be safe than sorry. After all, if she and Aang did end up getting… distracted again, the last thing she wanted to do was make him smell her body odor.
Turning on the shower, she quickly stripped herself out of her clothes and climbed in, enjoying the warm feeling of the water coming down on her. It was quite relaxing to her, as it felt almost as if she was easing herself into a hot tub, except that it obviously wasn't quite the same.
Though, she supposed that she could go to a hot tub any time that she wanted, as Aang had installed one on the deck of his apartment a few months prior to her moving in. Still though, it was nice feeling the warm water run down her, especially since she felt a special connection to it thanks to her bending abilities.
As she enjoyed the feeling of the warm water running down her shoulders, she couldn't help but let her thoughts go back to Aang. Being with him was absolutely amazing. For more than one reason as well. Not only was he the most kind, caring, and considerate guy she had ever met, but he was also quite good-looking, and if she was honest, rather good in bed.
Not that she had any prior experience in sex, but considering how he always made her feel like she was losing her mind when they made love, she felt it safe to say that he was at the very least above average in that department. It certainly helped that he didn't just go at her like she was his toy. He actually made it romantic. He would gently kiss her as he would thrust into her, being as gentle with her as one would be with a porcelain doll.
She loved that he cared so much about her that he would be careful with how he made love to her, but she also often had to encourage him to go faster, knowing that she could take it and enjoy it a great deal. When he had gotten over his desire to not hurt her, their love making had only gotten better, making her appreciate him all the more.
As she recalled their lovemaking, she couldn't help but feel herself start to get a little excited, recalling how good he looked with no clothes on. Finding herself getting more wet the more she thought about it, she couldn't quite help herself as she lowered her hands from washing her hair and started gently rubbing herself, making her moan as she started imagining that Aang was there with her.
"Aang," she whispered quietly on the off chance that he came back early, not wanting him to see her doing this. She imagined his warm kisses on her neck, his hand reaching down to rub her wet jewel as his kisses trailed up to her jaw. She wished almost desperately that he was there right then, but she knew that wishing wouldn't make him just appear out of nowhere.
Instead, she decided to continue with her imagination, almost feeling his hands gently moving up her arms and over her shoulders as she placed a hand on one of her breasts, squeezing it as she rubbed herself more furiously.
"Aang," her moans grew a little louder, feeling her pleasure increase as she worked on herself while imagining that it was Aang doing it to her. As great as it felt, she knew that it would feel even better if it was actually him, but she knew that she would have to work with what she had at the moment.
Imagining that he made his way in front of her without taking his hands off of her, she could almost see him directly in front of her. She wanted to feel his hot breath on her neck, to feel his skin against her skin, to see his shaft penetrating her folds.
But, as she finally felt herself reach the edge, it wasn't his 'actions' that finished her off. It was what she imagined him saying to her that finally made her feel her release.
"Katara, I love you," his voice played in her head, making her finally go over the edge and her juices spray out over the shower area as she panted heavily, her eyes the size of plates as she tried to think about what she had just imagined.
Sure, she had finally allowed herself to admit that she loved him, but she had by no means expected him to feel that way about her yet. But, considering that him telling her that he loved her had been a part of her fantasy, she felt it safe to say that she wanted him to feel as she did.
This was obvious, of course, but still. She couldn't help but be surprised that it was a part of her fantasy. In fact, it was the very thing that had sent her over the edge. All things considered, she must have really wanted him to love her back.
Before she could think on this further, the sound of her phone ringing snapped her out of her thoughts, making her look over at it as it lay down on the counter. Deciding that she had been in the shower long enough, she turned it off and quickly put a towel around her as she started drying herself off while simultaneously answering the phone. "Hello?"
"Hey, Kat!" Yue's familiar voice came over the phone, making Katara quietly sigh in relief that it wasn't Aang. As much as she loved hearing his voice, after having just moments ago finished masturbating to him, she thought that she would probably sound awkward if she tried talking to him. "Just calling to check up on you. How are things going with Aang?"
Katara smiled as she used the towel to start drying her hair, thinking of how well things had been going between them. "They're going great. Aang and I get along so well, and he's such a great guy. I'm really happy," she admitted, not being surprised by the squeal of surprise from her friend.
"That's amazing, Kat! It sounds like you got a great guy," Yue told her, making Katara smile as she thought about him.
"Yeah, I really did," she couldn't keep her smile from growing as she looked at the picture she had of them at a fair from one of their first few dates that she had taped up against her wall. Shaking off the fondness of her memories, she decided that they had talked enough about her. "What about you? How are things going with Sokka?"
"They're pretty good, too," Yue replied cheerily, making Katara happy that her brother wasn't being too much of an idiot. "We're actually getting things ready for the wedding, and we even have a date. Which reminds me, save the date for November twenty-sixth."
Katara couldn't help but raise a brow in confusion. "November twenty-sixth? The day after Thanksgiving?" She could practically see Yue nod in affirmation. "Why are you getting married the day after thanksgiving?"
"Well, for one, it'll help have our family around for our wedding," Yue began.
"And let me guess. Sokka wants to do it so he can pig out on thanksgiving and get married the next day and pig out on wedding cake?" Katara finished for her, making Yue laugh a little and sigh.
"Wow, you really know your brother," she commented, making Katara laugh as she nodded her agreement.
"I know him a little too much," she remarked with a disgusted tone, making Yue laugh on the other end of the line, which in turn made her smile. "But, that's okay. As much as it's hard for me to imagine my brother getting married, at least I'll get a sister out of it."
"Yeah, can you believe it? We always said that we were like sisters, and now we're actually going to be sisters!" Yue exclaimed excitedly, making Katara laugh as she began putting her clothes on.
"I know. It'll be nice having a sister for once," Katara chuckled as she grabbed the blow dryer to her right and started using it as she raised her voice so that Yue could hear her. "So, am I going to be the maid of honor?"
"Of course!" Yue raised her voice as well, hearing the sound of the blow dryer and knowing that she would need to for their conversation to continue. "Though I won't need you to do everything. If you could just plan the bachelorette party, then I'd be all set."
Katara couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief from hearing this. As much as she wanted to help her friend get ready for her wedding, she had not been particularly looking forward to all of the work that came with being the maid of honor. But, if all she had to do was plan the bachelorette party, then she would be just fine.
"Sounds good to me," she finally replied as she switched the blowdryer to the other side of her head. "You'll have the best bachelorette party ever."
"Great! I'm looking forward to it," Yue said happily, making Katara smile as she saw that her friend trusted her so much. "So, is there any talk about you and Aang getting married yet?"
Feeling a blush creeping up on her cheeks, Katara laughed nervously and tried not to seem like she hadn't thought about it already, even if she knew that it was just a joke. "Yue, we've only been dating for six months. We haven't even said that we love each other yet."
"Really?" Yue couldn't help but gasp a little in surprise. "From the way you've been talking about him lately, I thought that you guys had already told each other."
"How do you know that I'm even in love with him yet?" Katara attempted to make the notion seem ridiculous, but she supposed that she should have known that her best friend would see right through it.
"You're kidding, right? Kat, I know that if you don't already love him, you're very close," Yue informed her, making Katara sigh as she saw that she pretty much couldn't hide anything from her friend. "I've never seen you this happy before."
Letting out another sigh as she moved the blowdryer to the front of her head, she finally was satisfied that her hair was dry and turned it off before thinking about how to respond. Deciding that it would be best just to be honest, she then replied. "Okay, okay. I… think I'm in love with him."
"I thought so," Yue's smug voice came back over the line, making Katara be reminded of how alike Sokka and Yue were. "So, are you going to tell him?"
"Yue, we've only been dating for six months," Katara reminded her. "What if he's not ready for it?"
At this, Yue couldn't help but laugh a little, taking Katara by surprise that she seemed to find this funny. "Kat, as you've told me many times, Aang isn't like other guys. He's not going to get scared off if you tell him how you feel."
Biting her lip as she thought about, she couldn't help but ask nervously. "You really think so?"
"I know so," Yue assured her, making Katara smile a little. Maybe she was right. Maybe it was time for her to just get her feelings off of her chest. As much as she didn't want to scare Aang off, she knew that he truly wasn't like other guys, and she felt confident that he wouldn't get scared.
"You're right," Katara agreed as she thought about it. "I'll tell him tonight."
Yue squealed excitedly, once again being so loud that Katara winced as the sound nearly damaged her eardrums. "You go, girl!"
Hearing the sound of the door starting to unlock, Katara's eyes widened as she realized that Aang was finally home. "Speaking of 'go', I gotta go, Yue. I'll talk to you later."
"But-" Yue tried to speak, but Katara hitting the end button silenced her voice before she could argue, making Katara feel a little bad, but she would make it up to her the next time she talked to her. Feeling her nervousness start to get to her a little at what she was going to do. She had never told anyone she loved them before. Hell, she had never told anyone that she liked them before, let alone love. But, despite the fact that she was incredibly nervous to tell him how she felt, she knew that he deserved to know. Regardless of whether he would like it or not. She wanted to have no secrets between them.
Shaking off her nervous jitters, she splashed on some of her favorite perfume and checked herself in the mirror one more time before walking out to the living room, smiling as she saw that Aang was playing with his pets. One of the things that she loved about him was how much he loved animals. Whenever there was an animal that needed his help, he wouldn't hesitate, even going as far as to bring an injured bird home to let it heal until it had been restored to its former glory where he had released it back into the air. Needless to say, this quality of his only made her admire him more.
Feeling eyes on him, he turned his head from rubbing Appa's belly and smiled as he saw Katara standing at the entrance to the living room. "Hey, Sweetie," he greeted her as he walked up to her and gave her a kiss, making her smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him back for a few moments before pulling away. "So, are you ready for movie night?"
"Yeah, I am," she agreed with a smile as she looked at him, feeling her heart elevated from seeing his familiar smile. And yet, she also couldn't help but feel like her legs might give out from his smile. Though she supposed that it was likely because she was in love with him. "If we can get through it this time, that is."
Aang chuckled and gave her another kiss. "I promise, I'll be on my best behavior," he told her before pulling away, leaving Katara wishing he hadn't moved. She wanted to be close to him at all times, even if she knew that this was ridiculous. "So, I'll get the popcorn and you get the movie set up?"
"Sounds like a plan," she nodded and stole another kiss before walking over to his room, making him smile as he started walking back to the kitchen with Appa and Momo at his side. Fortunately, it didn't take very long to make the popcorn, and before he knew it, he was back on his bed with Katara cuddling up to him with the bowl of popcorn between them and the movie playing.
He loved being able to spend time with her like this. Not only because he enjoyed spending time with her, but because his duties were not really relaxing, so being able to spend time with his amazing girlfriend seemed to help quite a bit.
As the movie went on, Aang couldn't help but think about their relationship and where it was going. He liked Katara a great deal, and recently had allowed himself to admit that he loved her. And though he very much wanted to tell her how he felt, he also was a bit hesitant. Not only because he was worried as to how she would react to his confession, but because he didn't want to take that next step in their relationship until there were no secrets between them.
And as of that moment, there were only two secrets that he was keeping from her. One that he had been told to keep a secret and the other that he kept secret because he wasn't sure how she would react, knowing that he loved her already. But, he knew that no matter what, he wanted to be direct and upfront with her. He wanted to always be honest with her, and though he had not lied to her this far into their relationship, he didn't want to ever start.
Looking down at her beautiful features that were currently snuggled against his chest, he found himself in awe that a girl like her would want to be with a guy like him and, knowing that he wouldn't be able to keep it a secret anyway, decided that it was time to tell her.
Grabbing the remote and pausing it, he was not so surprised to see Katara look up at him, her head never leaving the comfortable position on his chest as her face took on a look of confusion. "Aang? What's wrong?"
"Nothing's wrong," he assured her, feeling his nerves start to get to him as he wondered how he would go about this. "I just… have been thinking lately."
Katara couldn't help but gulp a little. That didn't sound good. Was he going to break up with her? She didn't know if she could stand it if he did that. But why would he, though? Just an hour ago, they seemed to be just fine. As much as she wanted to be reassured by this, she could see that he had an apprehensive look on his face, making her worry only grow as she wondered if it really was coming to this.
Forcing herself to put her fear aside, she put on a fake smile and replied. "Oh? What have you been thinking about?" Hoping desperately that he wasn't about to break up with her.
Sighing a little, he took a deep breath and forced it out. "I've just been thinking… I don't want any secrets to be between us," he began, making her confused look only grow as she nodded slowly, not sure where he was going with this. "But there's something I haven't told you." He chuckled nervously as he rubbed his neck sheepishly. "Two things, actually."
Although she felt relieved that he didn't seem to be wanting to break up with her, she also couldn't help but be a little nervous as to what he hadn't told her. "Okay… You can tell me anything, Aang," she decided to reply, hoping that she was being reassuring and hoping that she wasn't showing the nervousness that she felt as she prepared herself for whatever he was going to tell her.
Taking a deep breath, he forced himself to calm down and looked down at her, feeling more ready to tell her than before, even if he still felt nervous about how she was going to react to his secrets. "Which one do you want to hear first? The big one or the really big one?"
Raising a brow at him, she thought about it for a few moments and reluctantly moved her face from his chest to sit back against the board behind them, feeling that the more she looked up at him like that, the more her neck began to hurt. After a few more moments of thought, she finally decided. "The really big one."
"Okay," he nodded and thought about the best way to tell her this, knowing that she probably wasn't going to believe him at first. "Well, you know when I'm gone all day during the week?" She nodded slowly, not understanding where he was going with this. "I do do charity work, but I only do it for half of the day. The rest of the day, I'm in training."
"Training?" Katara couldn't help but ask curiously, watching as Aang nodded slowly. "What, are you getting ready for an airbender competition or something?"
"No, I wish it was that simple," he told her regrettably, truly wishing that he hadn't been given the responsibilities that he had been given, but he knew that he couldn't give it to someone else. "I train with… the other elements… because I'm the Avatar."
Katara's eyes widened upon hearing this, making Aang sigh as he knew that this was going to happen. After a few moments of silence, Katara replied. "You… you're the Avatar?" she couldn't help but ask doubtfully, making Aang chuckle. It wasn't the first time someone had been doubtful about his title.
"Yeah, I am," he nodded in affirmation, making Katara raise a skeptical brow at him. As much as she wanted to believe that he wasn't lying, she still couldn't help but be skeptical, no matter how much she wanted to believe him.
"Prove it," she told him simply as she crossed her arms over her chest, not willing to accept it until she saw the proof for herself. Knowing that she likely would say this, Aang nodded and bent a small tornado in one hand and reached out to the nearby plant that he had gotten recently, amazing Katara as he summoned the water out of it and brought it over to him as he turned back to look at her with both elements in his hands.
Laughing a little as he saw her jaw drop, he became nervous as she didn't respond for several moments, wishing that he could read her mind at the moment. "You…" she finally managed to get out through her dropped jaw. "You, and the water, and the-"
"Yeah, I know," he sighed as he returned the water to the plant and let the air tornado go.
After a few moments of feeling the shock go through her, she couldn't help but think of a question that she figured would be fair. "Why didn't you tell me that you were the Avatar?"
Aang sighed again as he looked down at his lap, a look of guilt crossing onto his face. "Part of it was because I'm not supposed to tell anyone, but the other reason… It's because I never wanted to be the Avatar," he admitted quietly, making Katara's eyes widen as she waited for him to explain. "The people who train me to use the other elements told me that it would be dangerous if I told anyone about it."
"No, I get that," Katara waved it off carelessly. "But why wouldn't you want to be the Avatar?"
"It's a lot of a responsibility," he confessed as he thought about it. "I found out that I could bend other elements when I was fifteen, and when I did, my whole life changed. They moved me from my school, and I've pretty much been on my own ever since."
Although Katara felt bad for him, especially seeing how being the Avatar had affected his life, she also couldn't help but wonder. "I'm sorry, Aang. But, if I can ask, if you're the Avatar, why are you a landlord?"
"The White Lotus Society, the people who have been training me, thought that it would be good if I had a cover to use while I'm training," he explained as he thought it over. "They got me this building, and someone to take care of it, so I just collect the rent checks and train. Like I said, I do go help charities during my free time, but half of the time I'm gone is when I'm training."
Katara took all of this information in as Aang looked at her, feeling sorry that he had to put all of this on her. "Katara, I'm so sorry that I put all of this on you. I know that it's a lot to deal with, and if you don't want to deal with it, it's fi-" He became rather surprised as Katara cut him off with a kiss. Not that he minded this, of course, but after everything he had just told her, he had thought that she would at least want some space. But, as his eyes closed and he kissed her back, he became disappointed as she pulled away and gave him a smile.
"Aang, it's okay. I definitely was… surprised to hear about you being the Avatar," she admitted. "But it's okay. I like you a lot, Aang. And I'm okay with you being the Avatar."
"Really?" he couldn't help but ask in surprise, searching her eyes to see if she was messing with him or not.
"Of course," she couldn't help but laugh as she gave him another kiss. "You mean a lot to me, Aang. And though I never expected you to be the Avatar of all people, it doesn't make me like you any less." Aang couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief from hearing this, making her laugh again as she smiled endearingly at him when a question came to mind. "So, what's your other secret?"
Feeling himself start to panic a little, he looked into her eyes and, seeing that she had accepted that the Avatar, felt that she would probably accept this too, even if she didn't feel the same yet.
"Well, the last thing you don't know about me," he began as he looked deeply into her eyes, gathering all the courage he had as he felt himself get lost in her oceans for eyes. "It's that I… I love you, Katara."
Katara's eyes widened from hearing this, her heart racing as she wondered if she had just imagined this. After a few moments of pure silence, she couldn't help but stutter out. "Y-you do?!"
Not sure what to make of the look of utter surprise on her face, he nodded slowly, becoming surprised as she once again launched herself at him, her hands going onto each side of his face as her lips smashed into his. Despite his surprise, he didn't waste a second, pulling her closer as they kissed roughly. Aang felt happy that she seemed happy about this and Katara felt relieved that he had told her it first.
After a minute or so of kissing, the two ran out of air and reluctantly pulled apart, staring into each other's eyes as they breathed heavily. "I love you too, Aang," Katara told him with a smile, her forehead never leaving his as she stared into his eyes.
"Really?" he couldn't help but ask with a bright smile, feeling her nod against his forehead as he kissed her again, pulling her even closer as their kisses sped up. With their bodies rubbing against each other and their kissing turning them on, Katara reluctantly broke from the kiss and looked at him.
"I want you, Aang," she breathed, making him look at her in confusion, despite the fact that he was just as aroused as her at the moment.
"What about the movie? We still haven't finished it," he objected, despite the fact that making love sounded rather good to him right now.
"We saw most of it. That's good enough for me," she told him simply before sinking her lips into his again, both of them laughing as Aang moved the bowl of popcorn out of the way and moved so that he was on top of her, both of them feeling happy that they loved each other and knew how the other felt as they prepared to officially make love.
A young lady walked into the room, kneeling down in front of the makeshift throne where a man sat, knowing that doing anything else would get her in trouble. Not that she was particularly afraid of him, but she knew that he would accomplish great things, and certainly wasn't about to get on his bad side now.
"Father, you called for me?" she asked after a few moments of silence.
"Yes. I have a mission for you, my daughter," the man informed her as he stroked his pointy beard, the old relic of a crown on his head making the light shine down on the girl from the fire that surrounded him. "You know that we will soon take over the world." The girl nodded. "But in order to do that, we must make sure that all loose ends are tied. Have you heard of the Avatar?"
The girl huffed a little at hearing this. "Yes, I have," she finally replied as she looked at the ground in anger. "I had been hoping to be the Avatar, but it apparently was an airbender."
"I agree. You being the Avatar would have been ideal, but unfortunately, that is not the case. However, if we are going to succeed in our plans, we must make sure that he cannot stop us."
"He?" the girl asked in surprise, watching as Ozai nodded. "You know the identity of the Avatar."
"I do," he told her with a smile as he flipped a gold coin in his hand. "It's amazing how people are willing to sell out their own for some coin." Shaking this off, he got back to the point. "At any rate, the Avatar is a man by the name of Aang White. As of now, his identity has not been revealed to the world, and it never will."
He leaned forward in his makeshift throne and put his hands together. "You, my daughter, are going to hunt him down and take something precious of his so that he will cooperate."
"With all due respect, Father, why don't I just end him?" the girl argued as carefully as possible, knowing that saying the wrong thing would get her in trouble.
"Because the Avatar unfortunately has already been trained in all of the elements," the man informed her regretfully. "If you try to face him, you will fail." Feeling like this wasn't true, but knowing that it would do her no good to argue, she remained silent. "Instead, we will take something precious from him. Something that will force him to cooperate with us."
"What did you have in mind?" the girl asked as she kept her head down.
"As it turns out, the Avatar has a girlfriend," the man told her with an evil smile. "Capture her and bring her to me. Once we have her, the Avatar will have to do whatever we say."
Rising to her feet, the girl bowed to him, though she still didn't look very happy that he didn't appear to have faith in her abilities to take on the Avatar. "As you wish, Father," she bowed once more before turning around and walking away, hearing her father's voice behind her.
"Do not fail me, Azula." A twisted smile crept onto her face at this, knowing that she would not let her father down as her brother already had. With the determination to prove herself, she continued walking out, thinking of ways to capture the Avatar's girlfriend.
