Trusting them

Jade Star asked for a oneshot of Elsa and Emma managing to transfer their ribbons to Snowing before the curse of shattered sight.

How exactly could you prepare for hearing your family say the most wretched things possible? Emma wasn't sure she could prepare. She'd spent so long building a relationship with them. She knew how unstable her own emotional wellbeing could be. She knew that hearing her parents say such things, however untrue, would set their relationship back miles. Elsa, too, knew the impact it would have on her new friend. Emma was like how she had been once. She and Emma had discussed a plan of action, but had avoided sharing it with the rest of the group, knowing they would think it too risky. It might make them more vulnerable to attack from Ingrid, but it was a chance they were both willing to take. Besides, Snow and Charming had both defeated so many villains, surely Ingrid would be no real match for them? So before they all gathered at the station to make sure everyone was safe for the arrival of the curse, Emma had worked out how to transfer the ribbons from one person to another. So at the last possible minute, they both slipped off their ribbons and transferred them to Emma's parents.

"Emma, what are you doing?!" Charming asked, alarmed. He tried to yank the ribbon off, but it wouldn't budge.

"Neal needs his parents, if we can't stop Ingrid." Emma explained.

"But we have every faith that you will." Elsa added.

"I trust you." Emma said, squeezing both their hands. "You will defeat Ingrid. You'll break this curse and then…maybe we have a chance at being a normal family." Emma added timidly. Snow and Charming's hearts skipped a beat at that. Emma was prepared to give things a proper go in Storybrooke. Something they weren't sure she ever really would. Today, they weren't going to let her down. Today, the Snow Queen was going down.
