Excuse me whilst I spazz out over reaching twenty chapters. It's a glorious moment for me *parties wildly* I actually honestly have no idea how long this story is gonna be, sorry about that.

But let's look at the stats

I love all you guys so much *sniffs*

But yeah Christmas. I actually did not really look forward to Christmas last year, same thing with my birthday, it just seemed like another ordinary day but then this year with all the support from my friends, I was actually quite happy for it. I got some awesome cosplay (Finland) and a bunch of studio ghibli DVDs. My brother got me Guardians of the Galaxy and my sister got me lollies. My bro and I spent a ton of money on gifts and she just got lazy and bought like three dollar lollies.

Also quickly, I am 16, congrats to those who guessed it. I must make it really obvious. *shrugs*

Throws thanks up in the air at

Phantom Wish: You did get it! Congrats! And dodge ball is always great. I used to be one of the last people left because no one went for me. And I know my teacher's address so maybe I'll go stalk her.
Sabrina bina: Correct! And let's hope everything goes ok for Maka
Dwmalove: Yup!
Everything will perish one day: Yup! And I think I'll always be a bit upset with my teacher for saying those things.
Sol's Darkness: Correct! Woo! And Prison Break is one of the best games!
Guest 1: The dodge ball scene was fun to write. Sorry the chapter was short, even I think it is. It just always cuts off and I'm like 'damn perfect ending but too short' And Maka will share...probably
Lost Echo: Of course I read your review, it really made my day. I get nervous and embarrassed too, I'm a real introvert despite what people think. And Merry Christmas to you too if you celebrate it!
Lillyrd: Ah yes the Maka chop *grins sneakily*
Mjus: Liz and Patty get a lot of hand me downs from people at the hospital because a lot of people know they're currently orphans in a sense. I kind of explain here why Maka is bad at sport (it's mostly because she just thinks she is) and yup, I am 16 *smiles sheepishly* And I love dad jokes, I make them all the time (despite being neither male nor a dad) Also spider update, our shack has a ton of daddy long legs who like to party in the cupboards and bathroom!
HiCrazyCow: So when I got your review I was at my best friend's house and I flipped because gosh it was an amazing review. I was smiling like crazy and your feedback made me really happy. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and thanks for talking about it *blushes* You really made me feel amazing with that review!
Guest 2: Close, very close. My birthday's late in the year so yeah, I've only just turned 16. And wow, thank you so much for your praise *blushes*

And a massive thanks to all who favourite and follow, do both or even just lurk around and read. Because that does mean a lot to me.

Disclaimer: I don't even own anything Soul Eater related. My stuff is all Hetalia and D Gray Man and Bleach. Kinda funny since this is my major fanfiction.

Maka shifted uncomfortably as she watched Sid call a roll even though it was obvious everyone was there. Finally he put the clipboard down and fixed everyone with an intense gaze. Maka couldn't help but take a step back, slightly intimidated.

"Now," Sid began in a deadly serious voice. "Are you ready to play PRISON BREAK?!"

Everyone apart from Maka cheered, even Crona though they did it half heartedly. Even the twins Thunder and Fire waved their arms in silent approval. Kim looked especially happy, a glint in her eyes suggesting she was going to take this very seriously.

"Now for those of you who haven't played before, these are the rules." Sid said, shouting to slightly to get everyone to quiet down. Maka just sighed. It was pretty obvious that she was the only person who hadn't played so basically they were wasting time for her sake. Sid cleared his throat.

"There will be two teams, chosen by Kim and the other team captain. You will then go off onto each side of the court, the centre line covered in balls being the divider. You will line up at the end and on the count of three, I will blow my whistle and the game will begin. You can run and grab the balls. Now the aim of the game is to get an entire team in jail. To get a member of the opposite team in jail, you either need to hit them below the waist will a ball or catch the ball they throw. Catching the ball will also free a member of your team from the jail. When you get hit or your ball gets caught, you have to go stand behind the block on the other team's side. To free yourself, someone on your team needs to catch a ball as I said or..." Here he paused, looking at Maka who was following the rules quite easily. "Or the people on your team need to throw balls over so you can catch them. Is that clear, anyone confused?"

There was a chorus of people muttering yes or nodding their heads or making a small humming sound.

"Okay Kim is one team captain, who's the other?" Sid asked as Kim, now dressed in running shorts and a tank top made her way up to the front of the group to stand next to Sid. Once there, she scanned the teens staring back at her.

"Ox," She decided and the grumbling teen when to stand on the other side of Sid.

"Kim, you choose first." Sid told her and Kim beamed.

"Jacqueline," she said without hesitation and with a small grin, the shy girl moved to stand behind Kim.

"Soul," Ox said sulkily, obviously upset that he couldn't be with Kim. Maka noticed a look of pain flash over Harvar's face but ignored it because Kim suddenly called her name out. She moved to stand awkwardly with her and Kim smiled kindly, Jacqueline mimicking her.

Maka was honestly very surprised. She always got picked last for sports and ended up just hanging around at the back of the game, leading her to believe she was bad at sports. She'd never really properly played any kind of physical game but maybe...maybe she would be ok and not let Kim down.

"BlackStar," Ox called, it was steadily becoming a girls against boys games, especially when Kim called for Tami to be on her team.

"How about we just make it girls verses boys." Kim suggested sweetly when Ox chose Kilik. Sid thought about it for a moment before agreeing.

"Though Crona, is it a bother if I ask you to be on the boy's side?" Sid asked, looking at the pink haired person.

"O-okay," Crona stuttered, moving to stand with the boys along with all the other boys who hadn't been picked yet. The girls moved to stand with Kim, along with Fire who was obviously not going to be separated from his siter.

"Right, boys and Crona on the left side, girls and Fire on the right. Remember, false start before I blow my whistle and you can't run to grab the balls with everyone else." Sid instructed, swinging his whistle around his fingers. Everyone hurried to follow out his order, Maka finding herself with Tsubaki and Liz on either side of her. Liz looked ready to play, her game face on (well it looked like a game face) whilst Tsubaki shivered beside her, obviously nervous.

Sid raised the whistle to his lips, hesitating to add suspense. Quite a few people moved as if to run but stopped, catching themselves just in time. Sid took a great breath in as if to blow but still, no sound was released. Maka found herself among the people who almost moved, the atmosphere contagious. Suddenly the teen was really excited. Her heart was beating faster as she worked herself up.

The whistle blew sharply and the hall erupted into noise. People on both sides lunged forward, some hanging back. Maka started running but stopped when she saw that some of the boys already had balls and were aiming at the girls. She skipped out of the way as Ox threw one and watched with dismay as Tsubaki was hit. The shy girl slunk over to stand behind the block. Maka looked around for a ball, determined to try and help the girl.

Before Maka could however, a green ball flew over the boy's heads and into Tsubaki's waiting arms. The depressed teen turned to see who had thrown it and saw Kim giving a mock little bow. Obviously the ball had been her doing. Tsubaki was soon back over with them, hanging around at the back of the hall.

The next person to get out was Crona, hit by a ball thrown by Patty who performed a weird cartwheel in celebration whilst Crona slowly made their way over to the makeshift prison.

Maka gave a little gasp as a ball flew right past her head, making a loud thunk when it hit the front of the block.

"Too high BlackStar!" Sid yelled. "Get to jail."

"Aw man," BlackStar whined but he didn't complain, making his way over to stands by the quiet Crona and wave his hands around for a ball to be thrown.

As the game went on, Maka found herself enjoying every minute of it. She threw a few balls but moistly, she dodged them or tried to catch them or ran after stray ones to hand to Kim, Patty and Thunder (or was it Fire) the star throwers of the team.

She'd even got Luke out which made her feel good, especially when Kim congratulated her. The boy had been giving them a bit of trouble.

Eventually however, the boys won the first game. Kim was the last to get out and she went down fighting, hitting Soul at the same time that Kilik's ball hit her. Everyone cheered for her and none of the boys gloated over their win apart from Ox. Even then, he feel quiet after about a minute.

They pushed the blocks away after that and played all onto everyone where all Sid did was release a bunch of balls into the hall and you just tried to hit everyone. No alliances, no nothing. Just free for all. Kim won that game and was lifted onto Soul and BlackStar's shoulders, cheering and waving to everyone below.

Kim looked positively giddy, her eyes shining as they played game after game of different types of dodge ball. But as the session progressed, Maka noticed that Jacqueline got sadder and sadder. The two were obviously very close and now Kim was leaving and Jacqueline was staying. Despite it being very sad for the two girls, it made Maka think about something.

When she left (if she left) she would have to say goodbye to everyone. Well, unless they left first. Either way, they were going to part ways and like Liz had said, they probably wouldn't even keep in touch. But did Maka want to keep in touch with them? Her little group was nice and they seemed to sort of understand her but at the same time, they weren't exactly the people you would make friends with in the...outside world.

"Okay lunch time. We're having butter chicken, Kim's favourite." Sid called after the end of another game of prison break, this time with mixed teams. "Come on guys, let's move out. And yes, you can change if you did." Everyone trooped out the gym, scooping up abandoned shoes on the way.

"What's after lunch again?" Maka asked Tsubaki as they wandered along leisurely.

"The big group session w-where we talk about Kim and H-Harvar will show his video. He's made one for every person who's left whilst h-he's been here. He spends ages making them with old footage. He'll p-probably take some footage of you s-soon if that's okay with you." Tsubaki stuttered.

"I guess," Maka said hesitantly. Would Harvar still be here when she left? How long had the guy even been there?

They arrived in the dining hall in waves, everyone walking at different paces or changing so that they came in later. Eventually though, they were all gathered, Kim yet again in her salmon/peach coloured dress with her hair slicked back. She took her place at the head of the gathering of tables and soon, everyone was munching away at the curry or at least, picking at it which was what Tami, Crona and Liz were doing.

"Okay," the doors to the hall suddenly slammed open and Marie marched in, grinning widely. Behind her was Azusa, sighing in exasperation. "If you all eat up, we can have a longer group session. After all, this is a special day."

Everyone began to eat quicker when she said that though Maka noticed that the same three people before kept picking at it. Maka turned back to the curry and took another bite, enjoying the flavours. Everything at home was always so bland, so ordinary.

"Hurry up Maka," BlackStar pestered her, his curry long gone. "You're the only one left." Maka looked around, noticing that Tami had pushed her curry away, Crona had eaten half before doing the same and Liz's plate was empty. She sighed and forced the last few spoonfuls down, knowing she'd probably regret it later. Apparently curry could give you stomach aches.

Marie seemed pleased they'd finishing, gathering them up with a wave of her hand and leading them to the group therapy room like the pied piper. Kim was at the front of the group and everyone scurried after her, much like the bride at a wedding or a celebrity in public. Maka was glad she wasn't behind Kim, she'd probably step on the back of her dress and tear it...or trip Kim over.

They arrived, fanning out and sitting in the chairs, Kim next to Marie with Jacqueline on her other side. Maka ended up next to Liz with Soul on her other side. The teen shifted, wondering what they were actually going to do in this giant special group session.

"Okay we're going to start with all of us sharing our favourite memory of Kim." Marie said, nodding at everyone. "Now Maka, I know you're new so don't feel pressured to join in. But it'd be nice if you could find something." Maka nodded, giving a weak smile to reassure the therapist.

It was Crona who had to start, seated on the other side of Marie. They trembled and stuttered for a bit.

"I l-liked it when you b-brushed my hair one day and p-put it up in tiny ponytails." They spluttered, blushing bright red. When Maka looked to Kim, she noticed a faint blush on the girl's cheeks too, though, not as obvious.

"Excellent Crona," Marie seemed pleased and they moved onto Kilik.

"You were awesome when we teamed up in tennis!" He said exuberantly. "And smashed Liz and Ox." Everyone who had been there laughed (so everyone except Maka) and began to recount the event. Marie settled them down though, reminding them that they had a lot to get through.

Thunder and Fire spoke through Kilik, saying that the best memory was on the field trip when Kim carried them both on her shoulders in the pool during shoulder wars. Ox spoke of Kim today, in her beautiful dress, ranting on and on until Harvar elbowed him in annoyance. Said boy muttered something about dodge ball day, something Maka knew nothing about. Then again, she knew next to nothing about these memories, she had come into so recently that nothing that exciting had happened. It was a tad annoying and she felt quite a bit left out but it was also stupid. It wasn't like they'd purposely stopped her from doing things, she just hadn't been in the hospital at that point.

Whilst Maka had been thinking about the memories, Luke and Tami had both gone, Tami talking about some mock fashion show and Luke speaking fondly of an excursion to the zoo. Tsubaki was next.

"My favourite m-memory is when we played w-whole floor hide and seek and you hung a-around in the elevator and we c-couldn't find you." Tsubaki said shyly whilst Kim grinned, obviously proud of herself for that.

"I liked making the toilet paper roll giraffe with you!" Patty sang. "And then knocking it over."

"I liked it when you won the fashion show." Liz obviously agreed with Tami. "And then binged on the chocolate." Kim scowled, laughing a little despite herself.

"Uh, my favourite memory I guess is in dodge ball today when you did that neat flip and got Harvar out." Maka decided, already having thought about what to say. Kim gave her a smug grin.

"Favourite memory is when you convinced us all to play musical chairs because you thought it'd be fun." Soul gave a small grin. Obviously Kim had been right and playing the game had been fun.

"I liked it when we played tag in the garden and you tackled everyone you caught to the ground because it looked cooler." Kid winced as he said that. He'd probably been one of the people to get tackled.

"Definitely when we stacked all the furniture up to make a tower and we were all scared to climb to the top but you did." BlackStar burst out the moment Kid had finished, very excited to say his memory. Maka couldn't help but smile. The teens in this place had such fun times. Even though they were in here because they had problems (or what the people around them considered problems) they still made the best of things and got along so well.

Maybe Liz was wrong, maybe some people would keep in touch with Kim. Everyone seemed so close.

"That's enough BlackStar," Marie chided, stopping his ramblings. He shrugged sheepishly.

And now, it was finally Jacqueline's turn.

"Kim," She began, smiling sadly. "My favourite memory of you is when I met you. You seemed so aggressive and prickly at first and I was a tiny bit scared of you. But when you shouted and I panicked, you apologised right away and spoke quieter. Thank you." She looked at Kim, her eyes shining with tears.

"Thank you so much Kim for being there for me."

The movie was shown next, the song playing one Maka didn't recognize but found herself liking.

At the end of the day, some you win, some you don't

There was Kim throwing a ball, Kim flicking food at someone, Kim performing a perfect cartwheel before laughing when Ox failed.

So I'm glad that I'm here with some friends that I know

Kim at the top of a stack of furniture, Kim spinning on a red carpet surrounded by the other kids. Kim brushing Jacqueline's hair. Kim pushing Kid of a chair to win a game, Kim apologising afterwards.

Always there with a smile, saying you're not alone, singing la la la la que sera

Kim tackling Soul outside, Kim giving Liz and Patty some of her clothes, Kim sitting with Thunder and Fire, playing charades.

Kim smiling, grinning, pouting, growling, squealing, laughing.

Singing la la la la que sera

*cries* This was meant to be out on Christmas but I got caught up then we had to go up our shack at the Murray River with no internet or a phone signal. It upset me because my cousins were there and total jerks to me, abusive bastards. But I went on the tube, jumped off the jetty and wrote this chapter which made me a bit happier. The shack was actually the first place I eve hurt myself so I was determined not to let my cousins drive me to it this year.

Hope you all had an awesome Christmas and if you don't celebrate it, an awesome day!

The song, by the way, is Que Sera by the Justice Crew, winners of Australia's Got Talent one year. Go Australia! *cries because Australia is terrible right now before flying away jamming to Little Talks* Seeya till next time!
