Not what they wanted- part 2

Fangirl448 asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2957 "Not what they wanted" where Snowing talk to Emma.

The next day, Emma woke up safe and warm in her own bed, quite unaware of how she had gotten there. The last thing she remembered was Red finding her behind Granny's. She got upset and broke down. She couldn't even remember Red taking her home, or her parents sitting with her until she fell asleep. She did know, though, that they'd be right downstairs. Emma bit her lip, not really wanting to get out of bed, but she knew that she couldn't pretend to be asleep forever. She had to face them eventually. So, after about half an hour of stalling, Emma slowly made her way downstairs. Both her parents were in the kitchen. Her mom was cooking something that smelled delicious whilst her dad did some washing up. They both turned when they heard Emma come in.

"Hey princess." Her dad said gently. He finished off drying a pan and sat down at the island. He gestured to the stool opposite him. "Come sit down. Your mom's made pancakes for breakfast. We thought something sweet might be nice while we talk." Emma nodded and shuffled over to the stool. Snow plated her up a couple of pancakes before getting her own and Charming's servings ready. Emma silently cut up her breakfast, feeling too sick to eat. Was this where they told her she was too much trouble and would have to go back? She'd really blown it big time.

"So…" Charming began. "What happened yesterday, Em?" He asked her. Emma shrugged, unsure of what to say. "Emma." Charming said, a bit more firmly. Emma looked up at her father. "Baby, what's going on? Aren't you happy?" Emma nodded.

"That makes it even worse." She said quietly.

"What does, sweetie?" Snow asked her. Emma sniffed.

"Knowing that, at some point, you'll put me back in the system. Everyone does. You'll get fed up of me causing trouble, costing you money or you might have another baby and I'll be the one to go." Emma admitted, beginning to cry again. Snow and Charming both abandoned their breakfasts. Snow sat on the stool beside Emma and pulled her over onto her lap. Charming stood behind them, rubbing soothing circles on Emma's back. Although Emma was crying, she wasn't anywhere nearly as hysterical as she had been the previous evening.

"Baby, we're never sending you away again." Snow promised her, pressing her lips against the top of Emma's head. "No matter how much trouble you get into, no matter how much money we choose to spend on you, no matter if we have one hundred more babies. You're here for good." Snow assured her. Emma continued to silently sniffle, clinging to her mom's top.

"Your mom's right baby girl. We were both so scared when we found out you weren't in bed. We didn't know where you were and we just wanted you home. Please don't ever run away again. It's ok to be scared, but talk to us. Or someone else if you're not comfortable enough to tell us. Just don't hold it all in like that. Something dangerous could have happened and we might not have gotten you home as quickly." Snow and Charming dreaded to think what might have happened if Red hadn't found her so quickly. Emma nodded against her mom.

"Ok." She answered timidly. It would take a lot longer for Emma to feel properly safe in her home, and realise that her parents would keep their word, but at least she was on the right track now.
