"Sit rep" Demanded Gibbs

"FBI executed a raid assisted by a SWAT team on behalf on Interpol." Tony began

"During the raid, none of the three wanted persons were found." Continued Ziva

"A young girl was found, likely to be a victim of Dahan, Gurion and Ofe, she is alive and in a stable condition at George Washington University Hospital." Finished McGee.

"Is that all you got?"

"Boss they're former Mossad, how do you expect us to find them?" Asked Tony, the answer was a head slap and nod towards Ziva.

"Gibbs, I am not sure whether Gurion, Dahan and Ofe are truly former Mossad. They are or perhaps were some of my fathers finest officers. I doubt that had they gone rouge he would have let them carry on alive!"

"Agent David, I suggest you be careful with your theories, tensions are high, I do not believe your father has truly moved on from Somali and the following events" Vance stated as he entered the squad room.

"Director, we need to look at all possibilities, Director David has a reputation for playing dirty." Countered Gibbs.

"Gibbs, I fought tooth and nail for this case knowing its importance and you, do not throw it all away. Tread carefully." And with that, the director was gone and Gibbs stormed down to Abby's lab.

When Gibb's arrived down in Abby's lab she was pacing around the room mumbling under her breath. Abby was having an internal debate, she did not like what the DNA had revealed. Gibbs cleared his throat interrupting Abby's pacing.

"Oh, Gibbs! I got the results back, but I got four matches." Abby fumbled slightly over the words, unsure of how to deliver the news.

"Abbs, let me see the results." Said a frustrated Gibbs. Abby turned the screen back on and angled it towards Gibbs. On the screen were four profiles, Jenny Shepard, Eli David, Ziva David and Ari Haswari. Gibbs took a sharp breath in and told Abby to keep this quiet before heading up to Vance's office.

"Yes Director Samuels, I will keep you in the loop, thank you." Vance finished as he put the phone down.

"Gibbs, to what do I owe this pleasure?" Asked Vance, his only response was the DNA results slammed on his desk. Vance looked at the results and was speechless but before he could come up with a response Gibbs had left the room.

Gibbs drove to a downtown address where Jen's lawyer lived, he knocked on the door and didn't have to wait long for a response.

"Agent Gibbs, how can I help you?" Asked Richard Mason. Gibbs explained the current predicament to the lawyer, who invited Gibbs inside whilst he tried to find the electronic copy of Jenny's will.

"Ah here it is!" exclaimed Richard. He handed it to Gibb's who immediately flipped it to page 6, he remembered Jen writing it and knew that page 6 outlined what should happen to her daughter Eliana, in the event that she was found and Jen died. He nodded as he read it, Gibbs didn't expect Jenny to have changed much of her will after she had written it.

Only now was the weight of him agreeing to become the legal guardian of Eliana in the event of Jenny's death beginning to dawn on him. Gibbs decided the best thing to do would be to head back to the hospital, he didn't fancy explaining this to the team and he didn't want to deal with the complex political situation the DNA results had revealed. Hell, even Gibbs never knew who the father was!

Gibbs wasn't surprised about Eli being the father. Jenny has given birth to the baby in Israel only returning to Washington when she realised that Lia was autistic and needed specialist treatment. Jenny didn't fully understand the Israeli health system hence the move back to the states. Unfortunately, Lia never got the treatment as it was when they arrived back at Washington Dulles International Airport that Lia vanished into thin air.

Once at the hospital, Gibbs yet again had to take a big breath in to prepare himself. He nodded at the nurse's station then flashed his badge to the FBI agents still guarding the door, NCIS was to take over protection detail that night.

He sat down in a chair next to Lia's bed and reached for her hand before Gibbs had her hand, Lia had grabbed his hand and was putting pressure onto his palm between his thumb and first finger. In her weakened state, the pain was enough to make him pull his hand back and hiss but not enough to cause a scream. Gibbs was instantly reminded of Ziva's ninja-like reflexes and noted that the action was commonplace in Mossad, he couldn't help but suspect Eli David had a role to play in this.

Instead of reaching for Lia's hand, he spoke to her instead.

"Eliana, I'm Gibbs, I was your mom's partner at work, but er, your mom she passed away and so now I'm your legal guardian, is that okay with you? I found this it was in your mom's belongings," Gibb's wasn't expecting a response but he thought it was only polite to explain this anyway, he handed her the bear that Jenny always referred to as "Flopsy".

Emma, a new nurse, came in and introduced herself to Gibbs and warned Eliana that she was about to take her vitals again. Gibbs thought that now DNA had been confirmed it might be time to fill her medical team in on a few details.

Gibbs explained to the nurse that Eliana was born and raised in Israel but after Jenny realised that Eliana's mutism was due to autism, she brought Lia back to the US but the little girl was kidnapped before they cleared customs.

Emma thanked Gibbs for this information, it could explain Eliana's apparent lack of understanding of the situation. It was possible after all that Eliana wanted to communicate but merely could not. It was also possible that she did not understand English, who knew where Eliana had been taken after she was kidnapped.

After spending an hour or so with Lia, Gibbs said goodbye and instead of heading back to the office went straight home. For some reason, the undefeatable Gibbs had been overcome with a cloud he couldn't shake. Gibbs knew there was a long night of bourbon drinking and boat making ahead of him.
