Tony and McGee were both sitting at their desks looking busy. Gibbs smiled to himself maybe the head slaps had begun to pay off. Both agents stood as Ziva and Gibbs entered, Tony informed them of the fact that Dimitri Remizov had been killed in an explosion 5 weeks ago at his second residence.
The circumstances surrounding the explosion and subsequent fire were thought to be suspicious but no concrete evidence had been found. There had been chatter of Israeli interference as Dimitri Remizov was known to be head of a human trafficking ring but had diplomatic immunity and with little evidence, he hadn't been caught.
This knowledge whilst helpful, had created more questions, did Eli know he had almost blown up his daughter? Perhaps that was his intention, with Eli anything was possible.
"We found out that Eliana was travelling with a fake British passport under the name 'Amelia Grace Harrison' her flight left Moscow at 1135 arrived in London at 1348 had a 3 hour connection time then arrived in DC at 1948. Dulles International has said they will send over all footage from September 7th." Stated McGee.
Gibbs went up to see Vance whilst Ziva, Tony and Tim carried on with the case.
"How was Eliana this afternoon?" Asked Tony
"She coped really well with all of the questions, I am going to drop off a book to Eliana later, she wants to learn English." Smiled Ziva, she also made a note to ask McGee about his sister Sarah.
"Do you think she would like a movie? When my dad used to travel abroad he would buy me a film from whichever country he had visited. I think I got Bambi from Israel." Said Tony. Ziva thought Eliana would enjoy a film so invited Tony to come with her to see Eliana after work.
Up in the director's office, a difficult decision was being made. Tim and Abby had worked out that Ofe, Gurion and Dahan had gone back to Tel Aviv; the rogue officers hadn't bothered to cover their tracks once at the airport, even catching a commercial flight to Israel. The only logical explanation Gibbs and Vance could come up with was that Eli had recalled them after having carried out orders.
Gibbs and Vance needed to decide whether to approach Eli about the supposedly rogue officers or not. Eventually, it was decided that Interpol's US director would call Eli and inform him that there was a possible security risk as the three officers had returned to Israel. Surveillance was also due to be increased in Israel by all agencies in the US as directed by Interpol. It was rare that Interpol gave the go-ahead for increased surveillance so all agencies were happy to oblige.
Director Samuels phoned Vance to let him know that Director David had been informed, Eli promised to launch a search for his three rouge agents. Eli had not been told about Eliana to ensure her safety, Eli was not just rousing suspicion with NCIS but also the FBI and Interpol.
Gibbs was frustrated to no end, the three Mossad agents would have already arrived in Israel by now and Director David regardless of what he said, knew where Ofe, Gurion and Dahan were. He was almost certain that Eli's next move would be to contact Ziva to try and manipulate or guilt-trip her into giving information about the case and possibly Eliana. Maybe Gibbs would have to reiterate the message that Ziva was off-limits.
Finally, the end of the day arrived and Gibbs let McGee, DiNozzo and David leave, Gibbs however, stayed behind, determined to solve the case. The MCRT headed home with Tony agreeing to pick Ziva up at 1830 and then drive to the hospital.
Ziva had virtually torn her apartment apart before finding the book she wanted, it explained the English alphabet and had the vocabulary for business, holidays and schooling in an English speaking country. A knock on the door interrupted Ziva trying to piece together her apartment again. Tony smiled at her then frowned at Ziva's apartment, it was a wreck.
"Hey, you ready or did you want to try and sort out your apartment?" Asked Tony.
Ziva wanted to get straight to the hospital before Eliana went to sleep and visiting hours ended, Tony had offered to drive, he wanted to arrive at the hospital as a visitor rather than a patient. Ziva smiled at the Bambi DVD on the passenger seat and picked it up before sitting down.
"Shalom Eliana." Greeted Ziva, she proceeded to introduce Tony and gave her the book and DVD, Eliana briefly gave a small smile and signed thankyou before opening the book and beginning to read it.
"Tony, do you want to give Eliana the DVD? Or does it hurt too much to part with a movie" Asked Ziva, her eyes glistening with mischief. Tony rolled his eyes and put the DVD down onto the table next to Eliana, she looked at the DVD and eyes widened.
"You like it?" Asked Tony, Ziva translated and Eliana nodded her head and signed thank you once again, her eyes never met Tony's, instead they were staring intensely at Tony's shoes. Tony looked down checking he had no dirt on them.
Ziva chuckled at Tony "They are fine Tony, Eliana just had an absence seizure and happened to be looking at your shoes when it started. I think Eliana really likes the DVD."
Tony smiled and put the DVD into the TV, the three of them sat together and watched Bambi, only disrupted when the nurses came in to check Eliana's vitals. Despite Tony not understanding a single word of the film, he happily sat through it, content with watching the animations and cinematic features. Partway through the film, Ziva looked over at Eliana and found that she was fast asleep, Ziva nudged Tony and he took the film out. Ziva and Tony whispered their goodbyes and headed out of the hospital back to Ziva's apartment.
"Did you want to get some take out?" Asked Tony.
Ziva pulled a face "I do not understand how you live off to take out and look so good." exclaimed Ziva. Tony chuckled to himself, Ziva had really put her foot in it.
"You think I'm good looking?" Asked Tony.
"No Tony, well you're not bad looking" At Tony's smug face, Ziva jumped to defend herself. "I meant that for the amount of take out you eat, it is a miracle you are not fatter!" Ziva was flustered, Tony was very very attractive, to her at least but she would be damned if he knew that.
"Tony, I have food at my apartment, I can cook some Moussaka." Tony nodded in agreement, he loved Ziva's cooking, especially her moussaka.
Whilst Ziva cooked, Tony looked at her abysmal movie collection, it amounted to 20 films at the most, only taking up one shelf. Tony picked the sound of music, he figured that listening to Ziva sing for 174 minutes was worth it if Ziva cheered up a bit. He could tell that the last week's events had taken their toll on Ziva, the bags under her eyes showed how exhausted she was.
Just as the ads began to play Ziva brought him a plate of hot moussaka, it smelled delicious. They settled down and put their empty plates on the table in front of them. The two were sitting close to each other, in a similar way to when Ziva had first returned from Somalia and needed the physical contact to help ground her.
Tony leant against the arm of the couch whilst Ziva curled into him, resting her head on his chest with his strong arm wrapped around her torso. Tony realised he was right about Ziva being exhausted when her snores began to fill the room, the film hadn't even finished yet. Content, Tony watched the film until it was finished and when he realised that Ziva wasn't going to wake up, he got comfy and shut his eyes too.
Ziva woke up at 0430, she opened her eyes before realising that she was lying on Tony on the sofa, Ziva turned on her ninja senses and managed to slide off of Tony without waking him. She rushed into her bedroom and put on her running gear then headed out of the door, hoping that Tony was gone when she returned.
Hey Sweetcheeks,
Woke up and headed home to shower, see you at work.
Tony
P.S we should do this again, maybe make it into a date?
Tony left the note on the kitchen island and left the apartment before he changed his mind, something felt so right when they were together and he felt that with Gibb's permission he should take the opportunity. Tony loved Ziva and he realised when she was peacefully sleeping on his chest that he wanted more than just friends.
