An hour later, Chris and Martin were on their way back to the Tortuga. Jimmy was already there, tired and bored of watching the kids. Diana, playing with a dolly, was on the floor. Kyle was playing with his new set of hot wheels, rolling them down a makeshift ramp. Martin said quietly, "Children, we need to talk about something, important."

Little Diana was wide-eyed. She ran to Chris and tugged at his mechanical hand and said, "Where's Mommy? Where's Auntie Laura and Auntie Aviva?"

Martin sighed and said, holding on to Kyle's hand tightly, "Your mother... Diana, Kyle. Listen to me. Your mother... Well..."

Chris frowned briskly at Martin. He knew it was hard, but the kids were getting impatient. Chris said quietly, "Your mother will never be able to see you again."

Diana's little eyes filled with tears. Her cried were muttered, "Mommy died?! Did Daddy kill her?!"

Tension grew and the boys wished the girls would return... Something told Chris that Diana and Kyle saw more than just an agrument. He left the HQ, walked to his private bedroom and locked himself in it. He walked slowly to his bed, closed his eyes and tossed himself on the bundle of blankets. His own cries were muttered so no one could hear them.

Evening dusked on the Tortuga. Laura and Aviva came back and told their niece and nephew what had happened to Kayla. Once again, Diana claimed Daddy killed her Mommy and that it was Daddy's fault for Mommy not able to see her anymore.

Aviva noticed Chris was in the standoff crowd. Martin was quiet, Jimmy was not eating his pizza as usual. Chris was not among them. She asked, "Where's Chris?"

Martin shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, maybe his bedroom."

Aviva went to Chris' private bedroom and turned the knob. Finding it locked, she wished to chuckle, but had no power. She revealed a hiddle code in the wall, pointed a couple numbers and Chris' door was unlocked. This was not a time to run and hide from the world.

Chris was still crying some. He had the strength to put himself in his bed, in his clothes and shoes, and cry the night away. Aviva stepped into his bedroom and saw Chris on his side, quietly thinking things over. Aviva said quietly, "Are you alright?"

Chris' thoughts left to reality. He saw her in his bedroom. He recollected and said, "How did you get in here?"

Aviva couldn't chuckle. Tears filled the brim of her eyes. Chris refused an answer and patted his mattress for her to sit down. Aviva sat out forcefully and cried in her hands. Chris fought himself from the blankets and hugged her from behind. Aviva said, "I hope Elan didn't kill my sister!"

Chris rubbed her arms tightly and said, "Don't think that! Diana could be overreacting, too."

Aviva rested her hand on Chris' and looked at him in his eyes, "But Kayla had told me how Elan treated her. Oh, CK... Kayla was pregnant! She died pregnant!"

Chris' face turned from sympathy to shock. He tried to find the right words, "Maybe the pregnancy was bad."

Aviva shook her head, "We asked for death cause. She died of internal injuries... Oh, CK... She was badly hurt. I wasn't expecting my dear sister to die this early!"

Chris was silent. Then, he asked, "Does your family know?"

Aviva gasped out her cries and nodded, "Now Elan can take the children! I don't want him to take the precious kids! Kayla told Laura and I to not let Elan take the kids."

Chris planted a warm kiss on Aviva's cheek, "I'll make sure that this Elan won't do it."

Aviva tried to calm down, but her gasps and tears were making her cry more and more. Chris lay Aviva on his bed and covered her with a blanket. He said, "Stay here," He rubbed her face, trying to erase the tears from her cheeks, "Try to get some sleep."

"But -"

Chris cut her off, "No buts. Martin and I got the kids. You need to rest, Aviva."

Aviva closed her eyes with Chris still holding her. Minutes later, her gasps turned soft. She was finally asleep. Chris slowly stood up and leaned in and kissed her, "I'll make sure no one grabs those kids, even if it means, I ADOPT them."

The next morning, Laura was playing with Diana and Kyle with a set of chalk on the sidewalk. Martin was watching them from a distance until a yawn was heard behind him. Seeing Aviva, he said, "Good morning, Aviva..."

Aviva smiled tearfully. She sat next to her brother-in-law, who hugged her tightly. Martin kissed her on the cheek and said, "It's going to be alright. At least she's not suffering anymore."

Aviva breathed deeply and nodded. Then she said, "Have you seen Chris? He let me sleep in his room last night, but I didn't see him this morning."

Martin shook his head, "I haven't. I was just wondering about him. Usually Diana would be squealing over his hand by now."

Aviva giggled a little. Martin smiled and brushed his hand against her hair, "It's going to be alright. You got me, Laura, the kids, and even the gang."

Aviva lost her sudden smile, "What about Chris?"

Martin smiled, "That's what I meant by gang. Why?"

Aviva frowned, "Chris is your brother... He's kinda my brother... Right?"

Martin took a deep breath, "I have to admit, I hated how he just burst out to the kids that Kayla died. I was trying to find the right words... After all the strange fatherly motives he made yesterday, something snapped."

Aviva cried, "It's not about Chris I'm worried about! My niece and my nephew are in danger of my sister's husband! He's a dangerous man, Martin! And you are doing nothing to prevent the troubles! Aren't you?"

Martin stood up and said, "Shush, Aviva. We can't tell the kids yet. Laura told me Kayla's wish and I'm sorry this had to be ended like this -"

"Chris is my Daddy!" Cried a little voice.

Martin and Aviva glanced at running Diana. Their glances shot to each other and turned back to see Chris walking slowly, folder in arm, with Diana running around and dancing about him. Kyle, himself, was excited.

Martin's jaw was dropped, "What on earth did Diana just say?"

Aviva answered, "Chris is her dad?"

Chris walked up to the Tortuga with a soft smile on his face. Aviva said, "What did you do now?"

Chris took the folder and displayed two papers, "I legally adopted Diana and Kyle. According to several reports from the police department, Elan is a man that causes trouble. If I were these two, I wouldn't like it going home to a place where I witnessed my parents in agruments and fights and the terrible memory of my mother dying."

With that, he knelt down and whipped the children closer in a tight hug, "Besides, they already love me!"

Martin frowned and said to Aviva, "Take the kids to the HQ. I want to have a private talk with Chris."
