She woke up in the dirt. Her eyes fluttered open and she lifted her head to look around. She was in a small clearing surrounded by trees. She kept looking around and she was about to get up when she heard voices and footsteps coming towards her. She quickly lay back down and closed her eyes to pretend to be asleep.

"Is she really still asleep?" A voice asked. It sounded so familiar but she couldn't figure out where she had heard it before.

"It appears so." This voice was deep and rough. She focused on staying still and keeping her breathing steady. "How much longer do you think she'll be out for?"

"I don't know but probably not long. She will be up soon and when she is I want to be the first to know." She heard them both walking away and when they were out of earshot she slowly opened her eyes again. She looked back from where they left and when she didn't see anyone she quickly got up. Her hair was a mess and she was still wearing her big white dress that was now more brown. She was also wearing her heels still. She reached down and yanked hard on the heel until it broke off. She figured she would be faster without the stilettos but she also didn't want to cut her foot.

She looked around again before running off in the opposite direction. The dress was definitely uncomfortable and she knew if someone was chasing her she would never get away but for the time being she had a head start. The dress kept getting caught on everything so she ripped out the itchy stuff underneath that made it puffy so that the dress was a lot smaller. She smiled at the outcome and found a bush to hide the fabric in so they wouldn't know this was the way she had come.

She kept running until she was out of breath and couldn't run anymore. She wasn't sure how long she had been running nor how long she had been wherever she was. She was starting to get hungry and very thirsty but she knew that whoever had kidnapped her would find out she was awake soon and be after her so her first priority would be to find a place to hide. She was no stranger to dystopian movies and she had just finished The Hunger Games.

She found a tall tree and hiked up her skirt. She started to climb the branches. When she reached the top she sat down and waited. She didn't know what she was waiting for but it came only a few minutes later.

"You idiot, how could you let her go?" She looked down and saw a group of boys ranging in ages. All wearing hues of greens and browns.

"Hey, do not talk to me that way." A tall boy pulled back his hand with a very large bat at a smaller boy. He flinched away and so did Robin. The tall boy dropped his hand and continued walking. "She left something behind. She went this way." They continued walking.

She let out a breath she hadn't realized she was holding. She knew that she couldn't count on the boys only going that way so she stuck to the trees. She was able to stay out of sight for a long time, following far enough that they couldn't see her but close enough that she could see where they were. She kept climbing until she found a river. She smiled to herself. She looked around to make sure no one was around before she made her way down to the water. On the last branch her leg slipped and she fell to the ground with a thud. It wasn't far but it still hurt.

She got up and after making sure she had no broken bones she made her way down to the water. She dipped her hands in and was startled by how cold it was. She splashed water onto her face before bringing her hands to her lips. The cool water slipped down her throat and she closed her eyes in comfort. It was now that she realized how tired she was becoming. She knew she needed a place to rest and she didn't want to sleep in a tree especially because she didn't have rope to keep her from falling. She decided to go back up into the trees and follow the river until she found a cave or some place to sleep without being seen but close enough to drink water when she needed it.

Eventually she found a rather large tree that had a hole underneath the roots. She crawled under it and found that it was roomy. It was dark and kind of cold but it would be alright to sleep in for a while. She crawled into a ball and shut her eyes.

When she woke up she wasn't sure how long she had been asleep for. It had started raining outside so she just sat in the darkness for a while. The rain stopped suddenly and she stepped out from under the tree. It was bright and the sun was warm on her face. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She climbed back up into another tree and got ready for another day of climbing and hiding. This time she was going to find out where she was.

She heard footsteps and stopped moving.

"How much longer are we going to go looking for her? It's been days, Felix."

"We will stop when we find her." She recognized him as the boy with the large bat, apparently Felix. "Did you hear something?" Robin put her hand over her mouth. She saw a rock next to her and grabbed it. She tossed it at a far away bush and heard the group walk away.

She let herself breath and closed her eyes and she leaned back onto the tree trunk.

"That was a close one." Her eyes shot open. In front of her a boy with brown hair and in dark browns and greens. She opened her mouth to scream but he just pushed his finger to his lips and shook his head. She shut her mouth and looked at him confused. He gestured to the boys to show that if she screamed they would find her.

"Who are you?" She mouthed.

"I'm a friend who's going to get you out of here. Follow me." He climbed through the branches with ease and she followed him. They went on like this for a while until they came upon a clearing. There was a treehouse and cots and a fireplace in the middle. "Here we are." She looked back at him.

"Where are we?" She asked but before she could do anymore, he whistled loudly and when she looked at him confused he kicked her in the gut sending her off the tree and onto the ground with such force she blacked out. Again.

When she woke up, it was dark out. She opened her eyes and let them adjust. When they had she saw that she was surrounded by the boys who had been looking for her earlier. She jumped startled but she couldn't go anywhere.

"You are a hard girl to find." A voice came above the crowd. She looked around but she couldn't find where the voice was coming from.

"Who are you?!" The boy from earlier came into the circle.

"A friend." He was smirking at her. He knelt down and offered her his hand. She looked from his hand to his face and used her hands to push herself up from the ground by herself. He shrugged and got up so they were face to face. He was taller than her but that didn't intimidate her at all.

"Where am I?"

"You're in Neverland." She stared back at him blankly. Before she could stop it a loud laugh slipped out and she covered her mouth with her hand.

"Sorry." She looked back up at him. "What were you saying?"

"I was explaining to you that you are in Neverland."

"Right. And who would that make you."

"Peter Pan of course." Her eyebrows furrowed together and she stepped back.

"I knew it." He looked at her confused.

"You knew it?"

"Yes. I read your story every night for my sister, Abby."

"Oh, I've heard. You read it well." Robin ignored the comment and continued.

"I was always made fun of. I'm a 17 year old who still believes in Peter Pan. But I was right." She laughed and smiled brightly as she looked up at the sky. She looked back at Pan. "But you look different. You're older and have brown hair."

"Yes, I have heard your stories and how wildly inaccurate they are."

"Oh yeah. How so?" He stepped towards her.

"Well, the stories say that I save unhappy boys and bring them here. That much is true, but I am far from kind and warm." Robin's expression changed from excitement to a little shook and fear when she saw the sparkle in his eyes.

"Why am I here?" She asked.

"Well, for some reason or other my shadow brought you here. As you can tell, there are no girls here. And sense we can't have you leave with this knowledge…" He trailed off and she stepped backwards until her back hit a tree. He advanced on her quickly and pressed a knife to her throat. "It is such a pretty dress to be buried in." He looked back at her face and was caught off guard. She was smiling lightly at him. Not an ounce of fear in her eyes. "Are you not scared."

"No. I'm not. I don't know why I should be scared. I'm not afraid to die. I never have been. I would love it if you decided to let me live, to experience the wonders of this land that I have always believed in but never seen. However, I am aware that you aren't the same boy I read about and I don't like being scared. If I die, I don't want to spend my last seconds scared." He looked at her, studying her face until a smirk touched his lips and he put down the knife.

"You are a strange girl." He took a step back from her. "Maybe I can use you." He looked up and down. "But first you should get cleaned off. Felix will grab some clothes and show you to the lake where you can bathe." She looked around and the tall boy with the large bat nodded to her. She noticed that he had a rather long scar across his eye. She followed him out of the circle of boys. She turned back around to face Pan.

"Thank you."

She followed Felix through the forest for a long time. "So, how long have you been here?" Felix said nothing. "Cool. Well I've been here for two days. I think. Time has been a little confusing." They kept walking in silence for a while.

"We're here." He tossed a pile of clothes on the dirt and pointed to a lake.

"Thanks." He sat down on a rock and started to carve a stick. When she realized that his back was still facing the wall, she coughed uncomfortably. He seemed to get the message because he looked up at her.

"Don't falter yourself, I'm not watching." She sighed and figured that was the best she was going to get. It took some effort but she eventually got to her zipper. She let the dress fall into a pile on the floor. She decided to keep her under garments on while she washed off. She let her hair fall over her shoulders. She stepped into the water. Warmth washed over her. She expected it to be cold like the river but it must have been a spring.

She slipped her head under the water and she felt the knots undo themselves. She just sat in the water for a long time before she decided she was clean enough. She got out of the water and put the clothing on. It was a shirt and pants, both in dark greens and browns like all the others. Along was a pair of brown boots.

"Alright, I'm ready." Felix looked up and nodded. He stood from his rock and led her back through the forest. She still had a hair tie from when her hair was up so she put her still damp hair up into a long ponytail. "I'm Robin, by the way." Felix just stayed silent, but she took that as a good thing. They got back to the camp and she saw Felix grab something.

"Come here." He told her. She walked over sceptical. "I'm not gonna hurt you." He said. His voice sounded so rough it was weird to hear him say something comforting, but she stood in front of him. He reached up and put something on her cheek. She flinched a little when it burned the cut. She had forgotten about what her dad did to her. Felix stepped back and admired his handy work.

"Good to see you're all cleaned up." A voice came from behind her. She turned around to face Pan. "You know, you are one of the few and by far the oldest person to come here and actually believe me."

"When can I go home?" She asked simply. He smiled brightly and laughed a little, like it was a joke. She saw a twinkle in his eye.

"Go home? You can't go home." She looked at him, shocked.

"But-but… my family."

"Your family? You mean your awful father and mom who can't take care of you." She ignored the gnawing feeling in her gut wondering how he knew about her family.

"My brother, Jackson, can take care of himself but my sister, Abby, is only five. She needs me." He just stared at her, smirking.
