He didn't know how long he'd been here. Maybe years, perhaps. Growling, he weakly opened his eyes to see the filthy, lifeless cell before him.
The mutated beast slowly rose up on all fours, pacing around the room without any meaning to do so. Perhaps he thought that the days would pass by faster.
What did he look like before all of this went down? He couldn't remember. All he knew was that he was a hedgehog. Flaring his nostrils, he turned around as the steel gate to the dirty room opened. A human in a white coat entered with a clipboard in one hand, and a small tub in the other. Hastily opening a hatch in the side of the containment chamber the man slid the container inside, hastily withdrawing his hand and narrowly dodging a glob of corrosive venom sent his way.
"Cut the shit and start eating." He spat at the monster, getting out a pen and scribbling something down on his clipboard.
The mobian didn't reply, shuffling towards the plastic tub and lifting the lid off with his muzzle. He looked at the meat, feeling dread build up in his stomach. He was given this meat once a week and he could never tell what it was, yet a bad feeling always emerged. The monster wasn't very hungry at the moment anyways.
Seemingly out of nowhere, he tried to remember anyone he knew before being put in this hell. One was... a dog? No. A fox. He was red, right?
He subconsciously shook his head. He was yellow. What was his name? Tails. Yeah. The creature was ashamed. How could he forget his brother? Smart, kind, loyal... the fox never left his side when he needed him.
The names came back to him. Knuckles, Amy, Shadow...
Eggman.
He snarled loudly upon even thinking about that tyrant's name. He had yet to figure out if he was the one behind this.
His ears perked up as the his cell door opened. The scientist that entered was different from the last, wearing a hazmat suit and armed with a tranquilizer gun.
Mistake.
The beast grinned before springing into action. This was his chance to escape. The man clearly didn't expect this kind of resistance, yelling in fear as the mobian snatched the gun out of his hand and broke it with a loud crunch. All it took was one punch and the human was out cold. He didn't waste any time, bursting out of his cell just as the alarms sounded.
A primal, violent urge rose from his chest. He chose to ignore it, running down the halls and avoiding people rather than kill anyone who tried to catch him. Huffing, he slid under a closing gate, barely making it and bolting for the exit. He ripped the door off of it's hinges, revealing the streets of Station Square.
'What?' He thought. Then... was it G.U.N that abducted him that night? No time to think. The beast continued to run, never to look back as hundreds of soldiers burst out of the building as the alarms blared. They were too late.
"The boss isn't going to like this."
Tails gave a quiet sigh as he sat at his desk, both palms on his head in slight frustration. One year since his brother disappeared that night, and for three of those months he searched around the globe. He even stormed Eggman's base with his friends and found nothing. He hadn't turned up on any media, either.
The loud whirring of machinery caught his attention, and the kitsune looked out of the window. Helicopters, hundreds of them. What was going on?
There was a loud crash downstairs, which made the fox jump in surprise. He swallowed slightly, running downstairs and prepared to fight if it was one of Eggman's robots.
What he saw shook him to his core.
A huge, black wolf-like creature was on the ground, slowly rising up. It scanned the room with tired emerald eyes, his huge clawed hands tensing and ready for battle if necessary. His dragon-like tail touched the floor. Looking down to the creature's feet, Tails saw the faded sneakers that were barely holding on. The red fabric was torn in some places, the white strap in the middle grey from so much dirt. What really shocked the fox was the rusty buckle that rested on the cloth.
"This is the place, right?" The monster said to himself, still not noticing the fox who now was hidden from view. Just saying those five words felt like his throat was being caught on fire.
When he opened his mouth, there were blisters everywhere. It was rather grotesque. Rows of jagged, shark like teeth stuck out of his gums like knives.
To put it bluntly, Tails was absolutely terrified. But, those eyes... they didn't have any hostility in them even if he seemed to be anxious.
It reminded him of someone, and he decided to gather up all of his courage. The fox stepped out into the light.
"Sonic... is that you?"
A long moment passed as the monster looked at him, a small smile tugging at his lips.
"It's me, little bro."
ok so
I made this originally forever ago but I remade it and sent it to the Sonic Amino
I'll post it here I guess, I'd love some criticism cuz this is still kinda shitty in my opinion.
