The Fifty Eighth Annual Hunger Games

Introduction

While Dirk Tautson's Victory had been underwhelming to say the least, the Fifty Seventh Games had been considered a pretty great success, with an exciting cast of tributes and an original, intriguing arena. Creon Baxter was joyous that one of his Games had finally been viewed as a success, and he was excited to remain as the Head Gamemaker and continue having control over the Games and their design. This time, he opted to release no clips of the arena as he preferred, building an air of mystery now that he had the notoriety to not have to appease the public's every wish. President Coriolanus Snow was alright with this, as Creon had offered him no serious problems yet, and he was fine with the Head Gamemaker having some free reign over the Games now that the Districts had been sufficiently beaten back into submission. Dirk's fluke Victory and his drab, maddened personality did little to inflame the Districts, and Snow was pleased that things were calm and under control for another year. Caesar Flickerman and Claudius Templesmith returned as the host of the Hunger Games as always, and they spent much of their pre-Games shows guessing what the arena could be from the rumors floating around the Capitol. While mystery pervaded the nation over where the next Games would be, the tributes were soon selected. The Careers were a very strong group this year. The girl from 1 deviated from the common bottle blonde stereotype of the District; she was of Latina descent and was stunningly gorgeous, and she was also gifted with a rapier. Her District partner was more like the usual District 1 tributes, handsome with golden blonde hair and blue eyes. However, he was an accomplished archer, something that few men from his District usually were. From District 2, the strongest pair was provided. The girl was the star of the show before the Games. She scored the second 11 since Creon had taken over the Games, something that showed her true prowess. She was not particularly pretty, with deep dark skin and an extremely muscular figure, but she made up for it with her vicious swordsplay and rudely boisterous, humorous personality. She was the Capitol favorite before the Games by far. Her District partner was nothing to sniff at either; he was extremely short for a District 2 male, at only 5 foot 6, but he was extremely muscular and had a sharp jawline that made many Capitolites swoon. He was also extremely skilled with throwing knives. Lastly were the 4s; both slots had been claimed by volunteers this year, as the District was reenergized after Coralie had nearly won her Games. The girl from 4 was mixed race, and she was much flirtier and prettier than the usual District 4 tributes, playing up more of a District 1 angle than a District 4 angle, and she preferred a spear. Her District partner was the weakest of the pack; he had dark, shaggy hair and did not speak very much, keeping to himself. However, he was apt with a mace and would be able to keep up with his allies. While the Careers had been a strong group this year, the Outliers were more disappointing, with only two tributes scoring over 6. The frontrunner to be a come-from-behind Victor was Tilla from 9, scoring a 7; she was very shy and preferred to not share much about herself before the Games, but she was incredibly slim and agile, and had expansive knowledge of survival skills. The other tribute to score a 7 was the male from 11, Zavi, who was extremely muscular from years of working in the fields in his District. He had a fiery personality, and did his best to intimidate the other tributes before the Games began. The rest of the tributes scored between a 6 and a 2, none of them being very memorable, and there were no volunteers besides the Careers. Here are the tributes:

District 1: Chardonnay Perez, 18 (10) 6-1 and Coronet Hafrey, 18 (9) 8-1

District 2: Kyla Burks, 18 (11) 3-1 and Cassius Doyle, 17 (10) 6-1

District 3: Lindsey Higgins, 17 (5) 35-1 and Ryland Skiff, 15 (4) 48-1

District 4: Salinea Nebebe, 18 (9) 8-1 and Wallis Montoya, 18 (9) 9-1

District 5: Kitt Prichard, 15 (6) 23-1 and Beam Gannett, 16 (6) 21-1

District 6: Toyota Grenadine, 18 (6) 29-1 and Thomas Dilworth, 15 (5) 33-1

District 7: Maggie Kanter, 14 (5) 36-1 and Ishan Carver, 13 (4) 43-1

District 8: Cotton Massey, 13 (4) 46-1 and Kiran Weavil, 15 (4) 47-1

District 9: Tilla Montes, 16 (7) 16-1 and Erie Ratcliffe, 14 (5) 36-1

District 10: Emori Heller, 14 (4) 45-1 and Corrall Mendoza, 16 (5) 31-1

District 11: Posey Richards, 17 (3) 52-1 and Zavi Memoli, 18 (7) 18-1

District 12: Margaret Llewyn, 18 (6) 24-1 and Boxwood Gradell, 16 (6) 28-1

HGBA Odds: 25% on Kyla, 16% on Cassius, 15% on Chardonnay, 13% on Coronet, 11% on Salinea, 9% on Wallis, 3% on Tilla, 2% on Zavi, 1% or less on Lindsey, Ryland, Kitt, Beam, Toyota, Thomas, Maggie, Ishan, Cotton, Kiran, Erie, Evi, Corrall, Posey, Margaret, and Boxwood.

The Games

The first thing the tributes would notice when they rose up on their pedestals was the oppressive heat. It was immediately apparent that they were going to be competing in a desert arena this year. They were all dressed in tan cargo pants and jackets, with wide brimmed tan hats on their heads to help protect them from the harsh sunlight of the desert. The Cornucopia was made of silver steel and sat in the middle of the arena, the sunlight creating a glare against its shiny surface that nearly blinded many of the tributes. It sat on an orange rocky expanse of ground covered in a shifting sheet of sand blown by the light breeze in the arena. For miles around the Cornucopia, the ground was just like this; mostly flat, rocky land covered in sand with little else around except some cacti, scraggly bushes, and a few desert critters such as lizards and jackrabbits sparsely spread around. The color orange was overwhelming in this arena, all the rock and sand in the arena this color. Past the miles-long expanse of flat desert, rocky crags rose up around the edges of the arena, providing shade and hundreds of nooks and crannies for the tributes to hide in. However, these places were very far from the center of the arena, and there were also mountain lion mutts that prowled their slopes. There were no major water sources in this arena, meaning the only water was available at either the Cornucopia or in hidden places the tributes would have to discover themselves. Meanwhile, in the Cornucopia, there was plenty of food and weaponry, but water reigned supreme among the mound of supplies. There were hundreds of water bottles, jugs, canteens, anything that could hold water, and it drew the eyes of many of the tributes that already felt parched due to the oppressive heat. Due to the painful dry heat of the arena, many tributes would rush into the fray for water and other supplies. This fact, along with the strong skills of the Career pack, would lead to 12 tributes dying in the opening minutes of the Games.

5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

When the gong rang, only three tributes ran immediately from the fray: the little 13 year olds from 7 and 8 refused to risk their lives in the carnage like many other weaker tributes before them. However, everyone was surprised when the strongest Outlier of the year, Tilla from 9, took off the moment the gong rang into the desert as well, not risking her life in the Bloodbath. It was a shocking move, and many people were curious as to why she had decided to do this instead of entering the Bloodbath, especially in such an inhospitable arena. However, Tilla fled immediately from the Bloodbath like two other weaker tributes as the other 21 tributes rushed to the Cornucopia in hopes of pillaging supplies or claiming kills.

None of the Outliers were faster than most of the Careers this year, and they were able to snatch up weapons before most of the Outliers arrived at the Cornucopia. Chardonnay grabbed a rapier waiting for her on the side of the Horn, while Coronet ran into the back of the structure for his bow. Kyla grabbed her broadsword, Cassius found a belt of throwing knives, Salinea got a brace of spears, and Wallis was able to find a mace in the Horn as well. All armed with their weapons of choice, the Careers quickly spread out and began hunting down as many tributes as possible, eager to show off their impressive skills and thin the herd in an arena that was already designed to cater to stronger, more popular tributes. They each had decided to work in pairs, splitting the Cornucopia field into three parts to attack. Kyla and Wallis were in charge of clearing the area directly around the Horn, while Salinea and Chardonnay were in charge of the middle of the field, and Cassius and Coronet were to go after the stragglers on the outer ring.

Chardonnay had been the fastest of the six Careers, and once she had snatched up her rapier, she had quickly leaped towards one of the tributes that had been next to her during the countdown. The lanky girl from 11 screamed as she tried to dodge Chardonnay's thin, deadly blade, dropping the gallon jug of water in her hands on the sandy ground with a thunk. However, she was not able to move fast enough, and Chardonnay stabbed her blade straight through the girl's sternum, killing her swiftly and marking the first death of the Games.

Posey Richards, District 11 Female; 24th, Killed by Chardonnay, Bloodbath

As Posey fell, Kyla was whooping with glee as she raced out of the mouth of the Horn with her broadsword in hand. She cut down the first tribute she saw in front of her, who was rifling through a crate full of packs stuffed with water bottles and food rations. Her sword sliced deep into the boy from 8's neck, almost decapitating him and killing him so quickly that he didn't even have time to scream, slumped dead over the crate where he had been searching for supplies.

Kiran Weavil, District 8 Male; 23rd, Killed by Kyla, Bloodbath

Once Salinea had snatched up her brace of spears, she quickly ran to her area of the field where Chardonnay was pulling her rapier out of Posey's corpse. She spotted a younger tribute sprinting away from the Bloodbath, having abandoned the run halfway through after seeing Posey murdered. Unwilling to let the girl slip away, Salinea threw one of her spears at her, and the weapon sliced deep into the nape of the girl's neck. The sobbing girl from 7 fell to the ground with a thud, twitching as she died from the grievous wound.

Maggie Kanter, District 7 Female; 22nd, Killed by Salinea, Bloodbath

Meanwhile, Wallis had found his mace, and he took over attacking the tributes clustered near the Cornucopia desperately scooping up supplies. He slammed his mace right into the skull of a screaming girl who futilely tried to throw the water bottles in her hands at him in a weak attempt at self defense. The water bottles burst on the ground at Wallis's feet as his mace burst the girl from 3's skull open like a rotted melon.

Lindsey Higgins, District 3 Female; 21st, Killed by Wallis, Bloodbath

Kyla was ravenous for more kills, swiftly pouncing towards another tribute after murdering the boy from 8. She spotted the boy from 6 fighting with the boy from 9 over one of the biggest gallon jugs of water near the mouth of the Horn, and she wasted no time speeding towards them. She kicked the boy from 6 off of the boy from 9; the 9 kid started crawling away as Kyla kicked the 6 boy in the ribs before using her broadsword to behead him with one clean motion of her blade.

Thomas Dilworth, District 6 Male; 20th, Killed by Kyla, Bloodbath

In the middle of the Cornucopia field, Chardonnay and Salinea set their eyes on the same victim at the same time: the fiery boy from 11, Zavi, who was trying to flee with his ally, the boy from 10, Corrall. Eager for more kills, the duo attacked Zavi together, not wanting the stronger boy to overwhelm them. Zavi growled angrily as Chardonnay's rapier sliced through his left calf and one of Salinea's spears buried itself in his right shoulder. He fell to the ground, and Chardonnay did the honors to slicing open his throat while Salinea ran off to chase down Zavi's erstwhile ally who had escaped while they were killing him.

Zavi Memoli, District 11 Male; 19th, Killed by Chardonnay, Bloodbath

Meanwhile, Coronet had finally grabbed his bow and his quiver of arrows, and he sped out of the Horn with Cassius at his side, the two determined to pick off tributes trying to flee from the Bloodbath. Cassius spotted a boy cowering by his pedestal, too terrified to move and having wet his pants in fear. Cassius grinned as he sprinted across the field and threw two knives in quick succession into the boy's skull, killing him as the short, stocky boy from 2 laughed gleefully.

Ryland Skiff, District 3 Male; 18th, Killed by Cassius, Bloodbath

Back near the mouth of the Horn, Wallis was attacking another tribute, this time a girl who had been searching for the weapon she'd learned how to use in training within the walls of the Cornucopia. The 6 girl was able to find the machete she had been looking for in a crate at the back of the structure, but by the time she stood up Wallis was already in front of her. She tried to block his attacks with her machete, but his mace was stronger, and he had much better training than her. He was able to disarm her in moments before bashing open her chest with the mace, her guts spattering across the curved walls of the Horn as Wallis grinned greedily.

Toyota Grenadine, District 6 Female; 17th, Killed by Wallis, Bloodbath

Nearby, Kyla was able to catch up to the boy from 9 that had been trying to escape her after she'd broken up his fight with Thomas from 6 and had killed the other boy. However, the boy from 9 was young and much slower than Kyla, and she was able to catch him swiftly, shoving him to the ground before carving several deep gashes into his chest with the strokes of her broadsword, making sure to kill him painfully.

Erie Ratcliffe, District 9 Male; 16th, Killed by Kyla, Bloodbath

Out on the edge of the Cornucopia field, the pair from Twelve was doing their best to escape the chaos. The boy was running very fast, but the girl could not keep up, as she had twisted her ankle during the opening run for supplies. Her District partner tried to stop to help her, but suddenly he felt an arrow slam into his chest, courtesy of Coronet, who wanted to make sure the boy who was almost out of range did not make it away. His District partner began to scream in terror, hobbling as fast as she could with her injured ankle, as Boxwood collapsed to the ground dead.

Boxwood Gradell, District 12 Male; 15th, Killed by Coronet, Bloodbath

As Coronet and Cassius chased the wounded girl from 12, nearer to the interior of the field, Salinea had finally caught up to the boy from 10 who had run away while she and Chardonnay murdered his ally, Zavi from 11. He had zigzagged through most of the Cornucopia field to avoid her, but he eventually tripped over a rock and went sprawling. Salinea caught up to him and jabbed her spear into his back a half dozen times until he fell still, winking at the cameras as she pulled her blood-soaked spear from his gory back.

Corrall Mendoza, District 10 Male; 14th, Killed by Salinea, Bloodbath

Most of the tributes were either dead or escaped at this point, and the wounded girl from 12 was the only one left in sight on the Cornucopia field. Cassius and Coronet both knew they could easily kill her, and they let her run for amount five minutes, pursuing her and terrorizing her to make the final kill of the Bloodbath stretch out. However, she stopped running when she got too tired and tried to face them, flinging rocks from the ground at them. Both were able to dodge these, however, and Coronet let Cassius have the kill as he did not have the same taste for torture that they both knew would please the Capitol. Thus, the 2 boy tackled the screaming girl from 12 and used his throwing knives to carve open her face and neck until she bled out about ten minutes later, ensuring that the final kill of the Bloodbath had been a violent one.

Margaret Llewyn, District 12 Female; 13th, Killed by Cassius, Bloodbath

Regrouping at the Cornucopia after the girl from 12 had been murdered, the Careers were gleeful to discover that they had murdered half of the remaining tributes, meaning that only six Outliers were left in the Games. Feeling victorious and as if they'd done enough damage for the day, the alliance agreed to rest at the Cornucopia and go hunting in the morning. However, as night began to fall in the arena, the Careers realized it might be smarter to go hunting in the night. The temperatures dropped drastically, from over 100 F to around 40-50 degrees F by the time it was fully dark out. The artificial moon and stars in the sky were extremely bright, providing enough moonlight to see your surroundings. Thus, the Careers probably agreed their best plan of action would be to hunt during the night and conserve energy during the day. Thus, the Careers gathered up their supplies after sweeping the Cornucopia field for anyway survivors. Coronet and Cassius agreed to stay back and guard the Horn together while the other four hunted together in the flat desert around the Horn. Hunting all night, the pack was unable to find anything except cacti and a few jackrabbits, and they returned as dawn was occuring in the arena with no new kills to their names.

The six remaining Outliers had mostly spread out to the fringes of the arena during their escape. Kitt and Beam from District 5 had both been planning to go solo, but after being placed near each other during the countdown and both escaping the Bloodbath in the same direction, they had agreed to work together in such a harsh environment. They had fled west, and they kept walking even after night dropped on the arena, wanting to find some shelter before the sizzling heat of day returned. In the twilight hours of the morning, they were able to reach the rocky crags that ringed the arena, and they began to climb. They eventually found a pretty large cave nestled in between two of the peaks, disguised by a pile of orange boulders outside of it. Here, they examined their supplies. Both had grabbed gallon jugs of water, and Beam had grabbed a pack full of trap-making supplies while Kitt had picked up a small satchel full of jerky and crackers. Feeling like they were well set up, Kitt and Beam slept well that night. Little Ishan from 7 had run straight away from the Bloodbath, sprinting east the moment the gong rang. Named after his District's first Victor but having no relation to her, Ishan had followed her advice of not even entering the Bloodbath. He was extremely overwhelmed and terrified, however, and he quickly became tired. After running about two miles from the Bloodbath, he collapsed on the sandy ground and curled up in a ball, sobbing. He eventually conjured the strength to drag himself to a nearby pile of rocks, sleeping behind it. Cotton from 8, the same age as Ishan, had also fled from the Bloodbath immediately, but she had a sounder head on her shoulders. She kept going as far as she could after fleeing north, expecting there would be something else to the arena besides sand and cacti. She reached the northern mountains in the middle of the night, and she was able to climb them pretty dexterously for a tribute from an urban District. She did not find any expansive caves like the pair from 5, but she did squeeze herself into a small crevice barely bigger than her, hoping she would blend in well here for the night. Tilla from 9, the Outlier favorite to win, had also left the Bloodbath immediately, mystifying many of her fans in the Capitol as she had sprinted northwest. Tilla quickly proved to be adept at surviving in the desert, however. She found a grove of cacti that was tightly packed together, and she managed to slip her slim body through them and hide in a space she hollowed out in the grove. She knew which cacti had water inside of them, cracking them open with rocks in order to drink her fill, and she also began to construct a rock knife to the best of her ability. This impressed her sponsors greatly, and they sent her a real dagger instead for her ingenuity as well as gloves so she could handle the cacti easier. Emori from 10 was the only other tribute besides the 5s that had run into the Bloodbath and made it out alive. She had grabbed several water bottles stuffed into a pack as well as a spear. She was very short and malnourished, and it was difficult for her to carry all of her supplies, but she would not abandon anything. These supplies slowed her down, and she ended up camping out halfway between the Cornucopia and the mountains in the southern sector of the arena. She was able to find a portion of the desert where the ground raised and fell a bit, and she ended up snuggling into a shallow depression in the ground to sleep for the night.

The next morning, the sun beat down harshly on the arena the moment it was fully over the horizon. The Careers all stayed inside the Horn; while the metal heated up hot, it provided shade, and they had plenty of water to drink to keep them from being tired out by the sun. Kitt, Beam, and Cotton also did not have to worry about the sun, as their hiding places in the small mountains ringing the arena providing ample cool shade for them to bask in. Tilla also managed to stay relatively cool, as the grove of cacti she was residing in provided enough shade for her to huddle in, although it was still hot. The liquid from the cacti also kept her well hydrated enough to stay outside. Emori and Ishan were the only ones without ample cover; Emori drained half of her water bottles as she kept trekking through the desert to keep herself from passing out, and she eventually found the mountains as well, hiding herself in a small cave at the base of one of the mountains that provided her plenty of cool, shady areas to rest. However, Ishan was the only one who struggled immensely, as he had no water and could find nowhere to hide from the sun. He became very dehydrated and dizzy by nightfall, his brain already disoriented and losing its grip on reality by the time the second day came to a close. He had enough intelligence left to not hide in the open, however, and he returned to his pile of boulders from the night prior, sleeping behind them.

That night, little else happened as well. The Careers left Salinea to guard the Horn, and the other five prowled out into the southern sector of the arena at night, sweeping through the empty stretches of flat desert. It took much of the night to hunt through the vast flat part of the desert, and it was nearing dawn when they came into sight of the various crags and peaks ringing the edges of the arena. Realizing this was probably where a majority of the tributes would be hiding, the Careers agreed they would come and explore the small mountain range in more depth the following night, as they did not want to get caught in the day this far from the Cornucopia. Thus, they returned to the Horn without any kills, a bit uncomfortable with their lack of action but otherwise no worse for wear. Beam, Kitt, and Tilla did not do much at night, as they were comfortable with their spots in the arena. Ishan slept through most of the night, too exhausted from his delirious, dehydrated day in the deser to do much else or search for water. Cotton left her small crevice for the first time since the first night, crawling around and catching a few bugs to get to kill her grumbling stomach. She was also becoming very thirsty, and worried about what would happen to her if she went without water much longer. Emori explored the crevices around her own, not having known the Careers were closing in on her, and luckily they did not spot her crawling across the rocks at night, and she did not spot them either. She ended up finding a bigger cave a bit higher up on the slopes, and she settled there for the night.

The morning of the third day was even hotter than the previous two, with the sun beating down violently on the tributes. The Careers stayed huddled in the Cornucopia together, drinking up tons of their water to stay well hydrated and being sent meals with low salt from their eager sponsors to allow them to retain as much of the water as possible. Meanwhile, those in the caves as well as Tilla in her cactus grove were able to stay relatively cool and hydrated, although Tilla was bothered by how hot she felt, and Cotton was beginning to feel a little dizzy from her lack of water. However, the tribute who suffered most was Ishan. Out in the open sun, his light brown skin was cracked and severely sunburned, and his mouth was so dry it felt like it was full of sand. Ishan lost all cognition on the third day of the Games as dehydration wracked his poor, thin body. By the time it was one or two in the afternoon, Ishan was so weak from dehydration that all he could do was lay on the ground and twitch. Ishania desperately tried to gather enough money to send the tribute named after her a bottle of water, but the prices of water had been set astronomically high in this arena on purpose. Thus, as the afternoon continued to roast the arena, Ishan continued to lose his grip on life until dehydration finally claimed him around three in the afternoon.

Ishan Carver, District 7 Male; 12th, Killed by dehydration, Day 3

Surprised to hear a cannon during the day, the Careers agreed that it was most likely a natural death due to the severe conditions of the desert arena around them. A few hours later, the sun set over the arena, and temperatures returned to the chilly levels they were at night in the arena. The Careers were eager to go exploring the mountain ranges they had deduced probably surrounded the whole desert, suiting up as the sun began to set and departing the moment that the sun disappeared behind the horizon. Coronet was left behind to guard the Horn, as his bows and arrows would be less useful while climbing the crags they were planning to hunt on. Kyla led the efforts, as she was the leader of the pack do to having the highest score, and she urged the group to move fast as she wanted to explore as much of the southern mountain range as possible while it was still nighttime. No one was extremely bothered by this idea except Chardonnay, who was a little upset that she was not the leader of the pack as she had hoped. She preferred to keep hunting in the open expanses of the desert to pick off weakling tributes hiding there, convinced there would be plenty of mutts and traps waiting in the mountains surrounding the edges of the arena. However, she had been outvoted by the rest of the pack minus Salinea, who was her closest ally and tended to agree with her on everything. Thus, the five minus Coronet sped south swiftly, eager to explore the mountains for tributes.

They reached the southern mountains by nightfall, and they began to explore them thoroughly, fanning out so that they could cover a wide berth of ground as they searched every nook and cranny in the mountains. At about three in the morning of Day 4, Emori woke up to the sounds of Cassius climbing near her cavern, pushing over boulders to see if anyone was hiding beneath them. Terrified, the slim 10 girl gripped her spear tight in her hands and prepared to defend herself as Cassius continued climbing until he was at the mouth of her cave. Bored and tired, Cassius lazily swung his flashlight into Emori's cave and immediately illuminated the terrified girl quivering feet from his face. Shocked by his discovery, Cassius was slow to grab the throwing knives belted to his waist, giving Emori time to strike.

The girl awkwardly jabbed her spear forward, aiming to slam it into Cassius's chest. However, her aim went wide, and the spearhead buried itself in Cassius's left thigh. Cassius shouted in agony at the wound, and his allies quickly rushed towards him upon hearing the sounds of his pain. Cassius stumbled backwards, ripping Emori's spear from his thigh and tossing it down the mountainside, the thin metal pole snapping against the rocks below. Emori began to scream shrilly then as Cassius swiftly drew out a pair of glittering throwing knives from his belt, growling as blood dripped from the cut in his thigh. Wallis and Kyla had been closest to Cassius, and they arrived just in time to watch as Cassius stabbed his throwing knives into the girl from 10's chest several times as she sobbed helplessly before falling slack beneath him.

Emori Heller, District 10 Female; 11th, Killed by Cassius, Day 4

After Emori's cannon fired, Cassius stood raggedly, limping out of the cavern. Chardonnay and Salinea also arrived to the cave where the 10 girl had been killed moments earlier, and Salinea took out the medkit in her pack to wrap Cassius's wound with. He gritted his teeth as she applied the antiseptic, but once he was bandaged up, he felt relatively alright, as Emori's spearhead had not punctured very deeply into his leg. He was still able to walk, albeit a little slower than the others, as they picked their way down the mountain and traversed back across the desert. They barely made it back to the Cornucopia before the sun rose over the arena again, the sun yet again hotter than ever before. Coronet was shocked to see Cassius injured, as he was fond of the guy and had in fact developed a small crush on him. He tended to the injured Cassius in the Cornucopia all day while the others organized supplies for the twentieth time so far. There was little tension in the pack so far, which was surprising given the fact that they made up over half of the remaining tributes. There were simmering tensions between Chardonnay and Kyla, as both were strong personalities and did not get along. However, everyone in the pack wanted it to remain together and be one of the first packs to make it to the end together in a long time, so they buried their egos and coexisted in hopes they could kill off most of the Outliers in the coming days.

Meanwhile, the four remaining Outliers were becoming nervous; while they did not know who had died the fourth night, they could only assume it was another Outlier. Tilla had not done much during the night, as she stayed in her cactus grove as always; while her personality and ingenuity kept her pretty popular, the Capitol was growing bored of her hiding. Meanwhile, Cotton had ventured out in hopes of finding water among the cliffs around her crevice, but she was unable to find any water sources and was quickly become dehydrated. Getting worried that she would not last much longer without water, she took to sucking on a pebble as she had been told this would sate thirst in training. She hoped she could survive another day and find water the next night. The 5s, Kitt and Beam, had been the most active the night prior. They had begun building traps with the supplies Beam had scavenged from the Bloodbath around their cavern, building trip wires to trigger falling rocks as well as nets to ensnare people in hopes of making their expansive cavern a defensible fortress against the Careers. The Capitolites were quickly becoming excited by Kitt and Beam despite neither standing out much before the Games, as they had decent scores of 6s and had great banter, and at the moment seemed to be the most organized opposition left to the Career pack.

Throughout the day, nothing of much interest happened, as nearly everyone remained in their hiding places as the day progressed. However, as the sun began to set, Cotton wriggled her way out of her crevice and desperately began searching around her hiding spot for water, starting to become delirious and dizzy from the lack of hydration she had received thus far in the Games. As night began to fully set, Cotton walked into a cave near the crevice she'd been hiding, hoping to find some water source inside of it. Instead of water, she was faced with a venomous rattlesnake that had taken up habitation inside the cavern. Cotton spotted it when it was too late; she screamed and tried to run away, but the viper was already in mid leap. It snapped its fangs around her ankle, sinking its poison into her veins, before slithering away into the darkness. Cotton collapsed in the rattlesnake's cave with a whimper, watching with tears in her eyes as her ankle quickly swelled up an ugly shade of purple from the venom coursing through her already weakning body. By the time the fifth day broke in the arena, Cotton was barely alive, her dehydrated body succumbing quickly to the rattlesnake venom. By noon, Cotton's cannon fired, her weakened body and lack of supplies leaving her helpless against the power of the rattlesnake's venom.

Cotton Massey, District 8 Female; 10th, Killed by rattlesnake, Day 5

The night Cotton had been bitten by the rattlesnake, Tilla had remained in her cactus grove, Beam and Kitt had perfected their traps, and the Careers had hunted throughout the rest of the southern mountains, turning up empty handed. The fifth Day after Cotton's cannon was absolutely still; none of the tributes moved from their hiding places. Beam and Kitt were becoming a little worried, as they were getting low on water, but they also knew that with so few tributes left in the Games, they probably would be dead or in the finale in a matter of days. Meanwhile, the Careers still had plenty of water, and Tilla's cactus grove still supplied her with plenty of fluid to keep her healthy. They just stayed as still as possible to conserve energy, providing little interest for the Capitol that was becoming anxious with the lack of conflict so far.

That night, the Careers went to hunt in the eastern mountains, leaving Cassius to guard the Horn due to the fact that his torn thigh was still healing after his run-in with the 10 girl two days prior. While the Careers were incredibly popular in the Capitol due to their prowess and entertaining personalities, the Capitol was also getting bored of how easily the pack was getting through this Games. While Creon Baxter was pretty sure that the Careers would come out on top this year, as he had known an arena such as this would give them a decided advantage, he wanted things to be murkier and did not want all six Careers to make it to the end of the Games together as the most valued type of conflict was Outlier versus Career by the audience. Thus, as the Careers began to explore the eastern mountains, Creon had his underlings gather the few mountain lion mutts prowling the mountain ranges of the arena and send them towards where the Careers were hunting to liven things up.

Kyla was the first one to notice them, as she was leading the pack on their hunt and was the farthest up the crags. She spotted one of the beasts slinking through the shadows, its unnaturally bright yellow eyes and sleek silver fur gleaming ominously in the moonlight. She shouted to her allies that there were some big-cat mutts abound, and the Careers were quickly on alert, all falling back towards one another so they could defend each other together against the mountain lion mutts that were circling them on all sides. There were six of the big-cats in total; the Gamemakers had been keeping them on reserve so far, not wanting to kill off too many Outliers after such a big Bloodbath, but now the creatures were fully unleashed and bloodthirsty, all pouncing towards the Career alliance at the same time.

Many of the Careers did admirably while fighting off the beasts; Kyla was able to behead two of them within the first minute of fighting, while Wallis bashed in the brains of a third and Chardonnay stabbed her rapier through the four's neck so many times in a row that it dropped to the ground at her feet. Coronet struggled to fight in such close range with his bow, dragging out a long, serrated dagger he kept with him as well in order to fend off the mutts, avoiding any serious injuries as he did his best to wound them. Salinea was able to kill one of the mutts with her spears as well, sliding it right through its skull, but the sixth one leaped at her while she was polishing off the sixth one. Chardonnay did her best to leap to Salinea's rescue, stabbing the thing through the neck with her rapier until it died, but the damage had already been done. Salinea was on the ground screaming, her entire right arm up to the neck torn clean off by the mutt's sharp talons and fangs. The blood pumped like a fountain out of the gaping wound, and Chardonnay let a few tears drop for her favorite ally in the pack while the others watched, knowing there was nothing they could do to help a girl with such a mortal wound in the arena. Within five minutes, Salinea had bled out completely, her cannon shattering the silence of the desert arena ominously.

Salinea Nebebe, District 4 Female; 9th, Killed by mountain lion mutts, Day 6

That left the Top 8: Chardonnay Perez of District 1, Coronet Hafney of District 1, Kyla Burks of District 2, Cassius Doyle of District 2, Wallis Montoya of District 4, Kitt Prichard of District 5, Beam Gannett of District 5, and Tilla Montes of District 9.

After Salinea's death, the remaining Careers retreated back to the Cornucopia to tend to their minor injuries, taking the attack as a sign that there was nothing for them to discover in the eastern part of the arena besides the mountain lion mutts. Cassius was shocked to discover Salinea had been killed, but he was also thankful that the rest of his alliance was still safe and that they'd all made it to the Final 8 in one piece. They all settled in the Cornucopia as the sun began to rise over the arena, agreeing that they would go explore the western sector of the arena the following night.

While the Careers had been facing off against the mountain lions, Beam and Kitt had finished surrounding their cavern with a bevy of traps, from ones that caused falling rocks to ones that wrapped tributes in nets to ones that made them trip onto sharpened rocks embedded in the ground. Feeling hopefuly that their booby traps would allow them to be protected against the Careers and potentially make it hope, Beam and Kitt spent all night bantering and smiling, and they had swiftly become many in the Capitol's favorites. They were sent an extra bottle of water by sponsors, which cost an astronomical amount for the sixth day of these Games, as well as spears to defend themselves with if their traps were not enough. Meanwhile, Tilla had swiftly fallen out of favor with the Capitol. She received no gifts despite her still great survival skills, and she realized that the audience must be becoming bored with her. That night, she left her cactus grove for the first time in the entire Games and killed a couple of lizards with her dagger, and then cooking them in the searing daylight of the following morning. However, she was still viewed as a disappointment by many in the Capitol and had the lowest odds and popularity out of the all the remaining tributes.

That night, the Careers went out to the eastern mountains to hunt. All five of them ended up going together, leaving the Cornucopia unguarded; after a week of no one attempting to steal supplies and with only three Outliers left in the arena, they agreed it was pointless to have someone keep guard. They also wanted to have as many people to fight together if they encountered an arena trap such as the mountain lion mutts from the day prior. Thus, all five Careers walked eastward together towards what would later be known as one of the major highlights of these Games.

It took the pack a couple of hours to explore the lower reaches of the mountains in the eastern sector of the arena before they neared the area where Beam and Kitt were hiding. Kitt was on guard, and she spotted Cassius, who was almost completely healed and the closest to them, about a thousand feet down the slope. She quickly darted back inside the cavern before he could see her, waking up Beam and telling him that the Careers were nearing their hiding spot. They both armed themselves with their spears and waited at the very back of their cave nervously, hoping that their traps could kill enough of the Careers for them to have a chance at surviving the night.

The Careers were all spread out about five hundred to a thousand feet apart as they hunted up the craggy slopes of the eastern rim of the arena, and Cassius was the closest to Beam and Kitt's hideout. As he made his way up the slope, he spotted a weird pile of boulders that seemed out of place. Thinking it had been assembled by a tribute to hide behind, Cassius swiftly pulled himself up the rocks towards this pile of boulders. To the contrary, it was not a hideout, but one of the traps the 5s had set over the previous nights. As Cassius neared the pile of boulders looming above him, his foot snagged on the silvery tripwire hidden beneath the thin layer of sand coating the outcrop on which Cassius stood. The 2 boy looked down in confusion, and then he began to yell in terror as he saw the boulders above him all lurch forward and come tumbling towards him. He was dead in moments as at least a ton of hard orange rock crushed him underneath its weight as planned, the 5s' traps taking out one of the Careers violently.

Cassius Doyle, District 2 Male; 8th, Killed by Beam and Kitt, Day 7

The other Careers heard the deafening sound of the mound of boulders falling and then Cassius's cannon, and they all immediately sped towards the sound, worried about the fact that only one cannon had fired and that a loud noise had spread throughout the arena. They grouped up near where Cassius had begun his climb before he had spotted the boulder trap and had gone towards it. Coronet was the one to spot the fallen boulders, and when he climbed up there he saw blood leaking from under the pile. Coronet wiped some tears from his eyes, knowing that his closest ally Cassius had been killed, before returning to where Kyla, Chardonnay, and Wallis were still standing lower down the slope. He reported it seemed as if Cassius had been killed by a rockslide, and the Careers agreed this was probable, as they did not suspect that the 5s would have been able to build such an elaborate trap and did not even know for certain that there were tributes in this area. They fanned out again, closer however, combing the area around where Cassius had been killed more thoroughly in case there were Outliers hiding nearby.

As they climbed up the slope, Coronet moved the fastest, wanting to take his mind off of Cassius's death by hunting more avidly than he had the entire Games. Meanwhile, Kyla, Wallis, and Chardonnay all moved a bit slower, inspecting the area around them more carefully. As they climbed, suddenly Coronet felt pressure around his ankles, having walked across another tripwire set by the 5s. The 1 boy stumbled to the ground, and he instantly began to scream as he fell on top of several rocks that had been shaved into sharp points capable of puncturing the skin. Two of them buried themselves in his stomach, another in his chest, and one in his forehead. These wounds, all combined together, ruptured several important structures and let loose much of Coronet's blood. He wailed loudly before passing out, the blood leaking from his body quickly killing him and making his cannon fire.

Coronet Hafney, District 1 Male; 7th, Killed by Beam and Kitt, Day 7

Upon hearing Coronet's screams and another cannon, all three remaining Careers knew they were dealing with a series of traps or an attacking tribute and not an accidental arena event. They all moved even slower, creeping along and checking everywhere they looked. However, Chardonnay missed one of the tripwires, and soon a net made of rope wrapped itself around her, forcing her to be immobile and pinning the blade of her rapier to her thigh. Chardonnay shouted for help, and Wallis quickly picked his way across the rocks to help her, unwilling to let another ally die tonight. Meanwhile, as Wallis ran to Chardonnay's aid, Kyla noticed a tripwire gleaming silver in the moonlight, and also saw another set of sharpened rock spires like the ones that had killed Coronet. She carefully picked her way around them, and looking up the slope she saw the wide mouth of Beam and Kitt's cavern. She grinned ravenously at the sight, knowing her quarrel would be hiding there, and she sprinted up the slope madly.

While Kyla rushed towards Beam and Kitt's hiding place, Wallis arrived at Chardonnay's side and found her wrapped up in the net. He carefully picked his way around her, not wanting to trigger anymore traps that could hurt her, and then crouched next to her. His mace would be no use in cutting the 1 girl free from the ropes binding her, but he picked up a sharp shard of rock and set to work sawing away at her restraints to free her. Chardonnay did her best to stretch the net as much as possible in order to make his job easier.

While Wallis was working on freeing Chardonnay, Kyla reached the mouth of the cave, roaring in fury. Instead of waiting for backup from Chardonnay and Wallis, she rushed headfirst into the cavern where Beam and Kitt were hiding, enraged by the loss of two of her allies as she was upset that her leadership was faltering. Kitt and Beam were shocked by the way Kyla rushed them suddenly, and they both attacked her together, jabbing forward with their spears desperately. Kyla backed up once she saw two silvery spears flashing in the darkness, not frightened but knowing it would be an easier fight for her in the moonlight. Beam and Kitt eagerly followed her out of the cavern, thinking they were pushing her back, but once she could see both 5s in the moonlight, she barked with laughter and attacked them with the entirety of her strength.

The next twenty-two minutes were full of pure, unadulterated carnage and savagery. Kyla easily disarmed both Kitt and Beam in moments, cutting straight through the flimsy steel spears they have been given by sponsors and then cutting off the hands that held onto the snapped poles. Both Beam and Kitt screamed at the stumps that remained of their right hands, doing their best to turn and flee from Kyla, but the 2 girl was just beginning her fun. She kicked both of them in the back, sending them sprawling to the ground, and then picked up the spearheads from their broken spears. She stabbed them into each of their remaining hands, pinning them to the ground. Both desperately kicked their legs at her, but she circled around them until she was out of reach of their wildly kicking legs. She then proceeded to begin cutting shallow slices across their backs, their arms, their legs, their heads, any open expanse of skin she could find. Both 5s sobbed in pain as this happened, knowing there was no way to escape. Beam's body gave up first, as he was taller and stronger, and Kyla spent more time cutting him open, judging him as the one who had been more likely to be the trap mastermind. As Beam's cannon fired, Kitt gave up fighting completely, and after a few more slashes across her back from Kyla's sword, she was gone as well.

Beam Gannett, District 5 Male; 6th, Killed by Kyla, Day 7

Kitt Prichard, District 5 Female; 5th, Killed by Kyla, Day 7

As Kyla was torturing the pair from 5, Wallis was able to finally cut through enough of the net holding Chardonnay that she was able to rip through the rest of it. They quickly picked themselves up and raced towards the cavern where they had heard Kyla murdering the pair from 5, arriving just in time to see both Beam and Kitt die and hear their cannons boom ominously in the arena. Kyla stood and faced them, slathered in blood with a pleasant grin on her facing, informing them that she'd taken care of the tributes that had murdered Cassius and Coronet. Chardonnay and Wallis were both immediately wary of Kyla, seeing how savagely she had murdered the pair from 5. However, they hid their fear and congratulated her, and the trio picked their way back down the slope, careful to avoid the remaining traps, before hiking back to the Cornucopia to rest after their eventful night.

After returning to the Cornucopia, Wallis took the first guard shift as the sun began to rise over the arena, and Kyla was fast asleep after washing the blood from her face and arms. Chardonnay crawled over to Wallis, and they whispered about how Kyla was an incredible fighter and they were terrified of her. They agreed that they needed to work together to take her out if either of them wanted to win the Games, and they agreed to try to kill her while she slept. Thus, Wallis with his mace and Chardonnay with her rapier slowly approached where Kyla was sleeping in the back of the Horn, snoring softly, sure to make as little sound as possible in order to not wake her so they could dispatch of her easily.

However, Kyla was feigning sleep, having seen how terrified the two had been of her after discovering how she had maimed the pair from 5. A small smile worked its way onto her face as Wallis loomed over her, his mace raised. She opened her eyes the moment he was about to bring it down and started chuckling darkly, and Wallis's jaw dropped as she swiftly dodged the blow of his mace and swept up her broadsword. Within moments, the sword was buried deep in the 4 boy's gut. Chardonnay fled in terror, not willing to face Kyla while she was still full of the murderous adrenaline she had gotten from the 5s. Kyla cackled as she drew her sword from Wallis and pushed him to the ground. She ran to the mouth of the Horn and taunted Chardonnay as she fled with nothing but her spear and a gallon jug of water into the desert. Once the 1 girl was out of sight, Kyla turned back to where Wallis was bleeding out on the floor of the Cornucopia. He was trying to sit up and grab his mace, but Kyla kicked it away from him before stabbing him several more times in the chest and stomach until he fell still, his cannon shattering the early morning silence.

Wallis Montoya, District 4 Male; 4th, Killed by Kyla, Day 7

Kyla dragged his body out of the Horn for the hovercraft to retrieve before sitting down inside triumphantly and wiping his blood from her broadsword's blade. While Kyla relaxed in the Cornucopia's shade, Chardonnay found herself running desperately through the searing heat of the desert in midday. Quickly overwhelmed by the heat, as she had stayed inside the cool shade of the Cornucopia for most of the Games, she drained most of her jug by nightfall. She knew she should go hide in one of the caves for shelter on the fringes of the arena, but she also knew there were only three tributes left and that the Gamemakers might push them together for the finale soon. Tilla also expected something similar after hearing cannon after cannon the night before, removing herself to the edge of her cactus grove and sharpening her dagger as well as her stone knives in preparation for her final face-off. However, no Feast announcement or arena event came. Creon Baxter wanted to wait them out another day, and see if he could get more conflict out of these three and potentially get a classic 1 on 1 showdown in the sweltering desert, something he hadn't achieved yet in his tenure as Head Gamemaker.

That night, Chardonnay was relieved to finally be out of the glaring sun, settling herself behind a pile of boulders she discovered to sleep much of the night, as she was exhausted from the encounter with the 5s, Wallis's murder, and stumbling through the desert all day. Meanwhile, Tilla set about perfecting her stone tools and sharpening the blade of her dagger before drinking as much cactus water as she could manage, wanting to be as well hydrated as possible for the upcoming finale. Kyla slept most of the day in the Cornucopia, knowing neither of the remaining girls would approach her in the heat of the day, and at night she suited up with her broadsword and an array of knives as backups as well as a pack full of food and water. Then she hiked north, the only part of the arena she had yet to explore, intent on hunting down Chardonnay and Tilla and ending these Games herself without Gamemaker intervention.

As the sun began to rise over the arena, Kyla had yet to discover anyone, but she kept hunting, unwilling to turn back despite the heat of the day, wanting to end these Games once and for all. At around ten in the morning, with the sun completely risen in the sky, Tilla's cactus grove came into Kyla's line of vision, and the 2 girl grinned, instantly knowing this could be the place where the cunning girl from 9 had been hiding out of the entire Games. She quickly prowled towards the sea of cacti, her broadsword unsheathed and ready for action. Meanwhile, Tilla was crouched between the cacti, having spotted Kyla. The 2 girl was still partially spattered with blood from her various encounters with other tributes, and Tilla was terrified. However, she kept quiet and still, and as Kyla started to near her, Tilla burst from between the cacti in hopes of surprising the murderous 2 girl and taking her out of the Games.

Kyla instantly spotted Tilla sprinting towards her with a dagger in hand, and Kyla twirled out of the way before dancing back towards Tilla, barking with laughter yet again as the 9 girl stumbled to the ground. Tilla tried to pick herself up, but Kyla was already looming above her, and Kyla gave her a sharp kick in the ribs. Tilla screamed out, and she hurled one of her rock knives at Kyla, the blunt object slamming into Kyla's right shoulder. Antagonized by this action, Kyla kicked Tilla in the face, breaking her nose and knocking out several of her teeth, before kicking her in the chest and ribs so many times that Tilla could do nothing but moan as her bones shattered under Kyla's rough kicking. Once Tilla was broken down from Kyla's assaults, the 2 girl set down her sword and took the barely-conscious 9 girl's head in her hands. Kyla grinned ravenously as she snapped Tilla's neck with her bare hands to finish off her brutal death, her cannon resounding through the arena as the 2 girl dropped Tilla's body back onto the ground unceremoniously.

Tilla Montes, District 9 Female; 3rd, Killed by Kyla, Day 8

With Tilla dead, it was now only the two strongest Careers of the year left in the Games. However, the entire Capitol seemed to be rooting for Kyla now, enamored with her no-bullshit, rough-and-tumble exterior and her absolute butchery of the tributes standing in her way. Chardonnay knew she was the underdog, but she steeled herself and set out towards the Cornucopia after hearing the cannon she could only assume was Tilla's. Kyla also marched back towards the Cornucopia after murdering Tilla, knowing Chardonnay would do the same like a honorable Career, and that there they could have their final showdown for who would become the next Victor of the Hunger Games.

Chardonnay made it back to the Horn before Kyla, and she quickly took the advantageous position near the mouth of the Horn, replenishing herself by grabbing a spear as well as her rapier and filling up on food and water before Kyla arrived. The 2 girl was tired from killing Tilla, but Chardonnay had also been out in the desert since Wallis's death, and they were pretty even on levels of stamina left as Kyla began to close in on Chardonnay with a wicked grin on her face. Chardonnay would not let the 2 girl frighten her however, grinning back seductively and winking at Kyla before throwing her spear at her suddenly. Kyla was expecting the move however, crouching to the ground as the spear sailed over her head and clattered to the sandy ground behind her. Chardonnay frowned at this, picking up another spear swiftly before turning back to Kyla. The 2 girl had sprinted forward while she had been doing that, and was now feet from her face.

Chardonnay did her best to jab at Kyla with her spear, but the 2 girl expertly disarmed her after a couple of moments of sparring, sending the spear flying backwards into the back of the steel-walled Horn. Chardonnay gritted her teeth and quickly engaged Kyla with her rapier, which she was much more skilled with, and Kyla returned her energy with ferocity, the two female Careers grunting and shouting as their blades sung through the air and clashed across each other. Kyla got the first couple of hits, the tip of her sword slicing across Chardonnay's shoulders and knees. The 1 girl was able to get her rapier to cut a delicate line along Kyla's left side from her hip to her breast, and blood began to pour out of the cut. Enraged at the injury, Kyla slipped into berserk mode, and Chardonnay's smugness at injuring her quickly slipped away as Kyla's attacks become more fervent and violent, forcing Chardonnay backwards into the Horn. The 1 girl did her best to deflect Kyla's blows, but she had become like a monster with her sword, and she was able to disarm Chardonnay within fifteen seconds. The 1 girl scrambled for another weapon, but Kyla's sword was already flying through the air, the entire blade burying itself in her chest. Kyla drew the blade out with a pained but haughty grin as Chardonnay staggered backwards and feel to the ground. Kyla dropped her sword and gripped the gash on her side with a huff as Chardonnay bled out on the floor of the Horn, the blood leaking out of her fast enough that she was dead within a minute as she laid there moaning and Kyla did her best to hold the blood in with her hands.

Chardonnay Perez, District 1 Female; 2nd, Killed by Kyla, Day 8

"Kyla Burks of District 2, you are the Victor of the Fifty Eighth Hunger Games!" Caesar and Claudius shouted into the arena as the trumpets trilled their victorious tune. Despite the blood pouring in sheets down her side, Kyla began roaring in Victory, lifting her bloody fists to the air and pumping them victoriously as she strode out of the Cornucopia and awaited the hovercraft to retrieve her with a ravenous smile on her face.

Aftermath

District 2 was pleased to welcome yet another Victor into their ranks, yet again proving that they were by far the most powerful District when it came to the Hunger Games. Kyla was a shining example of 2's ferocity and mastery of weaponry; she had made a stunning eight kills in her Games, the most since Brutus Asesino's record of twelve kills almost a decade and a half earlier. She was wildly popular in the Capitol, becoming infamous for her rude yet entertaining personality and stubborn, crazy antics. They also loved her due to her bloodthirstiness and passion for the Games. She was respected by her fellow Career Victors, although she was considered by many to be one of the Careers that acted as if they'd never left the arena, and many considered her to be a bit vicious, but they still got along with her. She was widely reviled by the Outlier Victors like most violent Career Victors, but Kyla was fine with this as she had a similar antipathy to the Outlier Victors who she saw as weak and unmotivated for not starting training programs in their Districts. Kyla seemed to be affected little by her Games; while she partied often, it seemed to be more for enjoyment and the adrenaline rush than to erase any demons she had from her Games. There were rumors that she often tortured prisoners and political opponents for Snow as she was a favorite Victor of his, but I have been unable to prove or disprove these claims during my research. Kyla was often prostituted but she is on record saying she loved spending time with Capitolites, and it was just another fun activity for her, something that most Victors did not believe, showing that Kyla truly seemed to love the lifestyle of a Victor that many others detested. She would spend much of her long, vivacious life involved with the Games, as she was a fierce Mentor whose girls and boys were almost always spectacular, as she refused to Mentor unless she believed a tribute could win. While she was too wild to become the Headmistress of the Academy, she later became a Commander of troops in the Nut and was also involved heavily with the military. Overall, Kyla was a prime example of a vicious Career who enjoyed the fruits of their labor that the Games had provided.

Kyla would live to the age of 88, dying from old age around the 128th Hunger Games. She would stay single and have no children throughout her life, as the Games, the Peacekeepers, and partying were her only true loves in life.

The payouts on her Victory were poor, as 25% of the bets were placed on her.

Her Victory Tour was pretty strong; she was hated in the Outlying Districts like most Career Victors, but she was highly respected in the Capitol and Career Districts for the prowess she displayed during the Games. She was able to give strong, patriotic speeches as she was a strong public speaker and provided much energy and excitement during the Tour.

A/N: Hey y'all! I hope this is a good Christmas present or just a good holiday present if you don't celebrate the holiday like me :) I'm really back into writing fanfiction again, and I'm happy I was able to get out two chapters this month! I hope you guys enjoyed this one, I had a lot of fun writing a Games where the Careers absolutely dominate because there hasn't been one like that in a while, and it was also really fun to have a very villainous, murderous Victor as well. I hope you guys liked Kyla she is definitely one of my favorite non-canon characters from the years leading up to the 74th/75th. I also tried to make this chapter a little shorter so they're not behemoths but it wasn't much smaller lol. I shall keep trying to reign in my insanely long chapters!

But yeah that's it! Next chapter we have another canon Victor so I hope you guys are excited to see who it will be! Happy holidays and hopefully I'll see you all again soon!

Until Next Time,
