Hermione stood back with Cho and Ginny, Mistress's arms around them as they watched the tearful reunion between her sister Luna and her Mother, while Xeno was hugging both of them. The tears were plentiful, but she had never seen her sister looking so happy, and Hermione couldn't help but smile as well.

Master was still holding onto James and Lily, the most peaceful smile she had ever seen on his face. She was still having a hard time adjusting to all the shocks this morning, and she hadn't even been directly affected the way Master and the others were, so she could only imagine what they were feeling. All she knew was, as soon as she got the chance, she was going to hug the stuffing out of her parents and tell them how much she loved them.

Of course, immediately after hugging them, then she could introduce her Master and Mistress to Daddy, and her sisters to mum. Hopefully Master would give her permission to strip down and show off her collar and grooming to her mum, so they could have a good old fashioned gossip session. And if Daddy wanted mum to show herself to Master and the others, well, that would make it even better!

Maybe Master and Daddy would want her and mum to show off how much they loved each other? She would really enjoy pleasing Master that way, especially since he'd already told her that he was looking forward to seeing Parvati and Padma together, and maybe even Mistress and her mother. Although, since Lin already belonged to Master James, she probably would go back with them.

But that was something she could picture later, Master was calling them over to meet his parents.

Master took Mistress's hand and led her back to the beds where Master James and Lily was sitting. "Dad and mum? I know you've seen her before, even if it's been several years, but this is Cho Chang, my future Lady Potter."

Master James smiled at Mistress and chuckled, "Somehow Lily and I knew that the two of you would end up together, considering she was the first girl you got naked in your bed. Of course, you were both a lot younger then. I'm sure you enjoy it a lot more now."

Master grinned while Mistress just laughed, "Oh yeah, it was a lot more fun this time. But it did take us a while to get to an actual bed. The first time Harry had me stripping down, it was so his first slave, Luna, could use her mouth on me. It was the very first time she'd tasted another girl, and she did a wonderful job, but she's gotten even better since then. All of our girls are very good at pleasing both of us."

Hermione noticed that Master suddenly seemed distracted by something. He was listening to Mistress with a slight smile, before he frowned. He looked down at his hand, then over at Mistress's before looking back at Master James and Lily. Master shook his head and said, "Wait a second! I'm still wearing the Lord's Ring. You're still alive, how can the magic accept me as the head of the family?"

Madam Bones stepped forward, Hermione had actually forgotten she was with them, but the older woman said "That's something else you can blame on Dumbledore, Lord Potter. The Unspeakables are examining the wards on the building so they can understand what happened, but somehow the wards cut off your parents, and Mrs. Lovegood's connection to their family magic, that was why the Potter Family Magic accepted you as Lord Potter."

Master James said, "Once they got us out of there, we connected with the Family Magic again, but I have no problem recognizing you as the Head of the Family, you've already accomplished more, and brought more luster to the name than I ever could. And honestly, after all these years, we need to get used to the way the world changed, and, more important, get to know you and your ladies. Speaking of, are you going to introduce them?"

Master smiled and looked over toward Luna, who looked up suddenly and slipped out of her parents arms, walked over to stand next to Master and Mistress. He then gestured, and she and Ginny moved forward to join them.

After Master introduced them, and Hermione blushed at the way he praised her and the others, the ice was broken, and they spent a great deal of time just talking. Master's parents were mostly interested in hearing about their adventures, but they were shocked at finding out that Peter had been forced by Dumbledore to join the Death Eaters.

Luna's parents came over to join the conversation as well, Selene sitting between Luna and her husband, holding them both as they spoke.

It was while they were taking a break to eat breakfast that Master's mirror started to buzz, and he grinned, pulling it out of his pocket.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry

The Great Hall

Approximately the Same Time

Severus was actually surprised at how much he enjoyed breakfast this morning. He wasn't sure if the elves had actually improved their cooking, or if it was the loss of the Dark Mark that allowed him to take pleasure in something so mundane. It didn't really matter, other than as a curiosity, but he wasn't about to complain.

He was amused by the worried looks he received from some of the students when he laughed at a comment Filius made, which just made him laugh harder. They were so used to the 'Evil Dungeon Bat' that it would take time for them to get used to the change. He knew that he still hadn't completely adjusted to all the memories being returned, and would need to spend several hours working on his Occlumency to make sure everything was in place, but for now he was just going to enjoy the feeling of freedom.

He had been watching the students as he ate, waiting for one student in particular. Arthur and Molly were sitting at the end of the Gryffindor table, surrounded by the twins and Ron, and he could see that the boys were still in shock over whatever they had learned. It was probably something about Dumbledore, considering how close the family had been to the old bastard.

Harry had already left with Madame Bones and his ladies, he would talk to him later, and Draco had already been taken out of the school by Narcissa to deal with Lucius' death. That had been a shock, but apparently there was quite a bit that happened last night, and he was really curious to find out what it was.

Finally he saw the student he had been waiting for, as Neville Longbottom entered the hall, although he wasn't expecting to see him with his arm around the waist of Hannah Abbott. When did that happen? It didn't matter, he could apologize to the lad whether he was alone or not. Wiping his face with his napkin, Severus stood and walked around the staff table.

Longbottom must have felt his eyes on him, because he paused as he walked into the hall. The boy was watching him warily, which was understandable, considering their past interactions, but it would make things difficult. Deliberately relaxing his posture, he kept his face calm as he walked toward them.

When he was close enough, Severus said, "Mister Longbottom, I need to speak to you for a few moments. If you wish for Miss Abbott to join you, that will be acceptable. There's nothing to worry about, you aren't in any trouble, but there are things that you need to know. Follow me."

He walked past them, heading out of the Great Hall and opening the door into the room where the new students waited before their sorting. When the two students stepped into the room, he closed the door behind them and created three seats for them.

Sitting down, he gestured for the two of them to sit, and sighed, "Just so you are aware, I'm going to be having a very similar conversation with Harry when he gets back to the castle. I'm sorry for the way I've treated you since you arrived, but as I discovered last night, I was under a variety of memory charms and compulsion charms that forced me to behave the way I did. This is going to come as a shock to you, but Albus Dumbledore died sometime last night, which caused the compulsions to drop, as well as my memories to return."

He could easily see the disbelief on Longbottom's face, although the girl was watching him intently. She didn't have anything even resembling mental shields and was practically broadcasting her thoughts. Surprisingly, she was far more willing to accept the idea that Dumbledore wasn't as light as he tried to portray.

"Before you were born, Dumbledore heard a prophecy about a child that would be the downfall of Voldemort, and, from what I have been able to figure out, started maneuvering things to bring the prophecy about. I won't go into the details because they aren't important right now, but the child could have been one of two, either Harry Potter, or you." He had watched their reaction when he said Voldemort, and neither of them had reacted at all, another sign that the bastard was dead.

"The reason I say that the details of the prophecy aren't important, is because it was somehow fulfilled last night. Voldemort is dead, permanently this time." Rolling up the sleeves of his robes, he showed them the unmarked forearms, and smiled, "The mark disappeared completely during the night. I'm not sure if it was because I was never a willing follower, or because of the dark idiot's permanent death. But, did you notice that neither of you flinched when I said Voldemort? The magical fear he had managed to attach to his name is gone!"

Severus almost laughed at the look of shock, followed by happiness on their faces as they realized just what he was saying. After giving them a little time to adjust, he started telling them about the different compulsions that Dumbledore had put on him, not all of them, just the ones that had to do with how he treated Harry and Neville.

"Dumbledore was always certain that Voldemort wasn't dead after that Halloween night, and he wanted to 'hone' the two of you so you would be able to finish the job. Unfortunately, his idea seemed to be putting tests in front of Harry every year, while keeping the two of you beaten down so you wouldn't question what he was doing. I don't know what his overall plan was, I don't think anybody does, but I'm just glad that we won't have to find out. Do you have any questions?"

He was surprised that Longbottom actually spoke up, but the boy was in Gryffindor for a reason apparently. "Does this mean you'll be teaching us properly now? Because I'm really tired of having to put up with Draco and his goons tossing things in our cauldrons and having you ignore it, or worse being blamed for what they did!"

Severus grimaced, yet another of Dumbledore's ideas. Shaking his head he said, "That is going to change starting immediately, with Voldemort's death, I no longer need to coddle the Slytherin's to maintain my cover with the darker families. I'm also going to be offering additional training in ingredient preparation to the other houses, especially those in their OWL year. I've been unhappy with the OWL scores for several years, but Dumbledore refused to allow any changes." He froze as an idea hit him. Was that deliberate? Why the hell would he want there to be fewer qualified healers or potions masters?

Shaking his head, he would think about that later. "As I was saying, my method of teaching will change, but don't expect me to be any less strict. A careless accident in my classroom could kill everyone in the room if the wrong thing happened, and I value my own skin far too much to take that chance," he finished with a slight grin. The two of them grinned as well, and when neither of them had any other questions he released them to go to breakfast, knowing that the news would be rocketing through the school in minutes.

12 Grimmauld Place

7:00 am

The three of them were sitting at the kitchen table, half filled cups of coffee or tea in front of them, with another bar of Honeydukes Finest in front of Moony for emergency purposes. They had been talking for hours, going over Remus' memories, and as he started describing what he remembered. Sirius didn't think he'd ever been angrier at anyone, even the Rat, at what Dumbledore had done to all of them, because both he and Tonks remembered things that they'd been made to forget.

"Okay, first things first, we get Harry and Hermione and the other girls out of there, immediately. There is no way I'm going to leave my godson in the clutches of that bastard one minute longer. And if the old man tries to stop us, well, I've already got a Kiss on Sight order, so I might as well do something to deserve it!" Sirius looked at the others, daring them to object, but neither of them said anything.

He nodded and opened his mouth, but before he could say anything, Dobby popped into the kitchen, practically bouncing with excitement as he held out a letter. Recognizing Harry's scrawl, he opened it, only to find a second folded letter inside it. Looking at Harry's letter first, he scanned it quickly, and then again more slowly, not believing what he was seeing.

"Snuffles, I just spoke with Madam Bones, Wormtail turned himself in and confessed last night! And she's telling the truth, I was accepted as the Head of House Potter last night, and the ring was reading her as she was speaking, you'll be free! There's a lot more going on, but I'll talk to you later using your Christmas gift. I'm enclosing Madam Bones' letter with mine so you know it's not a trap."

Handing Harry's letter over to Remus, he opened the other letter. A wide smile crossed his face as he read the firm handwriting he remembered so well from when she was a Senior Auror. Amelia's letter said basically the same thing, with the addition of telling him that the Kiss on Sight order had been removed and the Dementors returned to Azkaban.

He couldn't believe it, he was going to be free! He started laughing, standing up from the table and dancing around the kitchen. It wasn't long before Remus and Tonks were laughing and dancing with him, making Dobby and Winky look at them like they were crazy.

Remembering what Harry had said about the Christmas present, he reached into his pocket and pulled out the mirror. "Prongslet!"

The mirror was dark for a second, until it cleared and he was looking at the smiling face of his godson. "Hey Padfoot! You got my letter I see, well, I hope you are sitting down, and if you have a calming draught, go ahead and take it, because you are not going to believe what's happened."

"Okay, I'll do that in a minute, but first, are you safe? I'm with Moony and Tonks, and all of us have had memories of things Dumbledore did return to us, we're getting ready to head up to the school and get you."

Harry laughed, "Oh boy! Are you behind the times. Dumbledore is dead, Peter killed him before turning himself in to Mad-Eye Moody. You weren't the only one that the old man messed with. But, before I tell you anything else, I need you, and the others to take the calming potion, the news is that shocking, I'm not kidding about this."

Turning to call for Winky, Sirius saw that there were three potions sitting on the table. After he was sure that it was the calming draught, the three of them drained the vials. Grimacing at the taste, he took a quick drink of coffee before picking up the mirror again.

"Okay, we've taken the potion, what's so shocking?"

Harry actually smirked at him, and he looked so much like Prongs in that moment it was almost painful. "Okay, I told you that Peter killed Dumbledore and turned himself in, well, it seems that earlier last night a bunch of compulsions and memory charms that Dumbledore used on him dropped all at once, at the same time that Voldemort was knocked unconscious and his snake killed. From what Madam Bones told me, he volunteered to be interrogated using Veritaserum and showed memories of Dumbledore forcing him to join the Death Eaters and give up the secret to the Dark Bastard. He never willingly betrayed my parents or anybody!"

The mirror dropped from nerveless fingers, Harry's voice coming from a distance as he stared at nothing. He heard gasps of shock and the sound of Moony swearing, but that wasn't important now, one of his brothers, somebody he had hated for years, was innocent... Tears welled up and flowed down his cheeks, but he didn't care, his brother hadn't betrayed them.

Eventually he noticed the sounds again, and he focused on Harry's voice, moving toward the voice as his head cleared. Blinking, he shook his head, "Damn! If it hit me that hard after taking the potion, I don't want to know what if would have been like without it."

Picking up the mirror again, he forced a smile, "Okay, got any more shocks for me? Because I really don't want to have a heart attack right now."

"Yeah, I've got a couple of more, one little and one huge, so brace yourself. The little shock first, Voldemort is dead, permanently this time. I don't have the details, frankly I don't care, but Mad-Eye Moody and several Unspeakables went to Riddle Manor and took care of him."

Sirius stared at the smiling face of his godson, searching for any sign that he was kidding. No, he was telling the truth, Voldemort really was dead, and that was the little shock? "Right! Excuse me for a minute, will you Harry?"

Putting the mirror down, he stood up and walked deliberately to the liquor cabinet and grabbed the bottle of fire-whiskey that Mooney had brought with him. Going back to the table, he opened the bottle and took a long pull, shooting the fire toward the window. "Okay, I think I'm as ready as I can be. What's the huge shock?"

Harry's smile dropped, and he said "I swear to you that this isn't a prank, I'm still having a hard time believing it myself, but... When Madam Bones investigated the building on Knockturn Alley where Dumbledore was killed, she found three prisoners held under some really nasty wards. Two of them have been held prisoner since Halloween, 1981..."

"No! No! You're kidding right? There's no way that Prongs and Lily have been alive all this time and we never knew!" Sirius was shaking his head in denial, there was no way this was happening, this was all too much, too much... He couldn't take this, he needed to get away, he couldn't think...

Dropping the mirror, he shoved the chair back, stumbling to his feet, only to collapse as the red light hit him.

Immediately after the last scene

"Sirius? Sirius! Are you there? What's going on?" Harry yelled, trying to get his godfather's attention. There was the sound of shouting and then the mirror rattled, before Remus' face appeared.

"Sorry Harry, it seems like there was one shock too many, and Sirius couldn't deal with it. But, what was he shouting about your parents?"

Harry gave a sigh of relief, before saying "That bastard Dumbledore, for reasons we don't know, kidnapped my parents the night before that Halloween, and replaced them somehow. We just found out this morning, and, I can sort of understand what Sirius is going through, my brain shut down too, but I had my loves to hang on to, and we're getting through it. Is Sirius going to be okay?"

Remus started to say something, but Amelia put her hand on Harry's shoulder, and said, "Lord Potter, if I give you my word that he won't be harmed, will you have your elf take a portkey to your godfather and his friends? It will bring them to the portkey center just outside the door and we can get him the medical help he needs while seeing your parents."

Harry looked back at the mirror, "Moony? Can you get him here? We can trust Madam Bones, and with Fudge and Umbridge sitting in the holding cells, nobody is going to interfere."

"Umbridge is what? No, never mind, you can tell me later. Yeah, we can be ready, give us about ten minutes, okay?" The mirror went black, and Harry looked at Amelia, who nodded and went to talk to the healer.

While they were waiting, Mister Lovegood stood up and said, "Can I speak to you for a moment privately, Lord Potter?"

Harry tensed, this wasn't going to be a fun conversation, considering that he had taken the man's daughter as his slave and has been shagging her seventeen ways from Sunday! Nodding, he stood, and the two of them walked over the corner of the room. He could feel Luna's concern through the bond, but she stayed where she was, wrapped in her mother's arms.

Luna's father looked at him for a long moment, not saying anything, before he chuckled. "Sorry, I'm not really sure how to start this conversation. It's not a subject that many people have to deal with." Looking directly at him, the older man said, "Thank you for what you did for my daughter. I know that you tried to find an alternative to the slavery bond, even offering to marry her, which made my Luna very happy."

He grinned wryly, "I could have done without all the details of the bonding, though. And, from what Madam Bones has told me, it was something you did that, at least indirectly, led to my Selene being found and rescued. I hope you never understand exactly what losing her did to Luna and I, but I'm not ashamed to admit I fell apart, trying to take care of Luna and myself, and I didn't do a very good job of it."

Harry wasn't really sure what to say, this conversation wasn't going anything like he expected. But then, it wasn't like he had a lot of experience talking to adults who weren't teachers. Finally he just said, "I'm sorry that Dumbledore made you suffer for so long, but I'm glad something I did helped you. And, I promise that I will always do my best to make Luna happy. I was already fond of her before this happened, and she's claimed a large part of my heart, the same as Cho, Hermione and Ginny."

Xeno nodded, "That's all I can ask for, I guess." He paused, "It's strange, I'm actually thinking a lot clearer now than I was this morning. I never really thought about how much Selene kept me grounded. It will be nice having people understand what I'm saying again."

With a smile, he turned away and walked back to join the others.

Madam Bones waved him over as he was heading back, and she handed him a wooden clipboard. "This is the portkey, they just have to be touching it and have one of them tap it with their wand to activate it. I'm going to be waiting at the arrival area with a healer, so we can get Sirius taken care of."

He nodded and used the mirror to call Remus back, explaining what he was told before calling Dobby to deliver the portkey.

Luna looked up at him and smiled as he sat down again, and he sent a feeling of love to her through the bond, making her face light up with happiness.

Turning to look at Ginny, who'd been mostly quiet since they arrived, he grinned, "Crazy way to start the day, isn't it? Hopefully things will start to calm down soon, once the word gets out about Dumbledore and Voldemort. I'd really like to have a normal year for once, how about you?"

Ginny smiled slightly, "I'm still trying to get my head around what happened this morning. I can't believe Professor Dumbledore was the one making mum do those things. I mean, I looked up to him all my life, but to find out he was the one who turned Percy against the family, and tried to use me to trap you? It's hard to take in. Even Tom, as evil as he turned out to be, wasn't as bad as what Dumbledore did."

Harry frowned, "I used to admire him too, Ginny, I think most of us did, which makes it hard to understand just why he did what he did. I wonder if we'll ever find out?"
