Two Saviours
RaisingStar asked for a oneshot of Emma and Alex both being Saviours. When the curse breaks, both Snowing and Cinderella and Thomas have to grieve their losses and try to get to know their daughters, but both girls only trust each other. Since the parents aren't getting through to their own daughters, they offer to switch and talk to the others' daughter. To make this work, I've lowered this girls' ages to 22 and there isn't any Henry.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Although I haven't been writing for season 7 since there hasn't been any core Charming family interaction, this ban will be lifted for the finale since Snowing and Emma will be back. All season 7 finale requests surrounding the OG Charming family will be accepted and written alongside any other requests. This will probably be your last chance to give a request, as (assuming I've reached at least 3000 by then) Our Charming Family will be taking it's final bow.
Snow and Charming didn't really know where to begin. If they were honest, their heads were elsewhere. They knew that across town, their friends were trying to have a very similar conversation with their own daughter at the station. They had to focus though. Here, in the laundrette where Alex worked. They made a deal with the other royal couple, the only other couple in the world who understood their pain, to try and get through to Alexandra for them. Just like they would do for Emma.
Since the curse broke a couple of weeks ago, it was obvious that both Emma and Alex were avoiding their families. They weren't interested in what their parents had to say. As far as they were concerned this changed nothing. When they were put through the wardrobe together, this world had incorrectly assumed they were twins. As a result, they were always placed together. They had no reason to believe they weren't twins given the circumstances until Alex needed blood a few years ago and they found out Emma wasn't a match. Nobody was too suspicious, after all, they were fraternal twins. Not all siblings have matching blood types. This did set off some weird alarm bells in the girls though, so they privately got a DNA test done. This proved their suspicions that they weren't in fact related at all. That set them on their journey of self-discovery that led them to Storybrooke, Maine. Here, with some convincing from the mayor's son and a fight with an actual dragon, they broke the curse and were reunited with their own biological families. Both Emma and Alex were struggling to come to terms with it all. It was hard enough accepting that they weren't really family, but that they were both princesses from another realm? Nah, that was too much. They preferred to stick with their reality and continue being each other's family, biological or not. Neither set of parents wanted to take that away, but they did want a chance to know their own daughter. Maybe convincing their daughter's sister. So that was how Snow and Charming found themselves sitting awkwardly with Alex that day.
"Look, I don't know why they sent you instead of coming here themselves." Alex said, frustrated. "But I already told them, just like Emma told you, we get it. Really, we do. But at the end of the day we grew up only having each other. That's all we need." Alex said, trying to close herself off from the situation. Snow and Charming could both see through the act. See through to the little girl who needed more than a sister: a little girl who needed parents.
"We understand that too." Charming began. "But don't you think your parents deserve a chance to at least get to know you a little? You said yourself you understand what happened. None of us had a choice in this." Snow could see her resolve crumbling a little, so knew she had one shot.
"Alex, nobody is trying to separate you and Emma. We wouldn't. We're so glad you've always had each other to rely on even when the people who should have been looking after you weren't there for you. Neither us, nor your parents, will do anything to affect the bond you two share. For what it's worth, had things gone the way they were meant to, we had always hoped you two would be close." Snow said with a smile. "We want a chance to have a fraction of that closeness with Emma, as your parents do with you. Please, give them a chance? They won't let you down."
"They're good people, Alex. None of you deserved this situation. All we can do now is make the best of what we've got. We can't do that if you and Emma aren't on board. We all want a chance to know our daughters. We're just asking you to give your parents the chance you all deserve to be a happy family." Alex looked out of the window, thinking. Maybe they were right. Maybe she should give them a chance. She trusted that nobody was going to try and separate her and Emma. They would never let themselves be torn apart anyway. What was the worst that could happen?
Away from Alex's sight, Charming squeezed Snow's hand. They were pretty sure they'd just convinced Alex to give her parents a shot. Hopefully, that meant Ella and Thomas had done the same with Emma.
