Fantastic 4 Reboot Concept

Current Cast of Characters

Richard Reeds (John Krasinski) is a quiet man, who shows brilliance without words. He is not awkward by any means, but he is always in his own head. During the trip into space, we will see a deep fear in his eyes as he watches the worst case scenario unfold. But he is the worlds smartest man, and he never fails to find a solution to a problem. He also can be a bully at times, casually insulting Victor Von Doom.

Johnny Storm (Zac Effron) is a storm of emotions. Spending his life under constant pressure from his mothers legacy as a cosmonaut, and abusive alcoholic father. (ex. space agency director) to become a pilot. With his own natural athletic talent, he became the worlds greatest pilot, and he knows it. Later when he becomes the Human Torch he also discovers that this power is killing him. The more he taps into his mutation, the more oxidized his cells become. He is strong, one of the strongest, but it will kill him and he will confront that at a later time. He is unable to give up using the power, it would go against his very nature. He is a tragic character.

Sue Storm (Emily Blunt) is in a much healthier mindset. She is the surrogate mother of the group and never took the pressure to perform personally. She is naturally caring and but also has extremely firm boundaries. She does not tolerate abuse or bullshit of any-kind. She is keenly aware of her self worth as a woman and a scientist. She is a psychologist.

Ben Grimm (John Cena) is the hardest working man you will ever meet. He thoughtlessly gave his time, his energy and even his body without a second though to any who are in need. After he is transformed into 'the Thing' he will confront the idea that maybe he has given to much. Paid too much. He gave all he could, and what happened to this kind working man was deeply unfair. Now he lives a shadow of his former life, a life now of eternal service, but without any reward. Inspired by firefighters who have been badly burned and scarred in the line of duty.

Doctor Doom (Jared Padalecki) is obsessed with conspiracy and the occult. He has very little power on his own, and is a deeply isolated individual, charged with his restoring his failing family estate, and caring for a dying mother. He is constantly looking for alternate answers to his problems. He is ridiculed and mocked by all his colleges in the scientific community and is nick named 'Doctor Doom'. He clings to his friendship with Beast, the only positive relationship he has.

Principle Beast (Jensen Ackles) is a (mutant) man who when faced with true adversity, did not give up. Unable to publicly be a scientist, he has released dozens of anonymous scientific papers (Bio-engineering focused) and spends allot of time tearing apart other scientific journals. He despises those who give into their base natures, as well as true frauds, and has a high level of personal integrity. He is able to see anybodies true potential. He is the quintessential angry principle who loves his students.

Our Story Begins

It is a clear, cloudless night. A full moon shines down upon a ruined castle. This is the ancestral home of Victor Von Doom. The camera pans across the the grounds and into the castle. Victor is painstakingly mixing a potion. He carefully adds measures and combines four ingredients, each one representing an element. He finishes, stands and braces himself. With look of intense concentration, a moment passes, nothing happens. And then a few tiny gold sparks drift from his hands into the mixture. It turns from gray to gold color.

Victor collapses into his chair exhausted. He looks out the window for a brief moment at the moon. Then he gathers up the potion and leaves his lab. He walks through he corridors of the Doom Estate, to the outside. He says a quiet hello to the old groundskeeper, working on the garden outside a small cabin. He enters this cabin and there is a woman in a rocking chair next to a fire place. She is humming softly and in a slightly disturbing way. It is clear she is unwell. He gently takes the mixture and helps her drink. We see flecks of gold drift across her eyes, and she pauses her song and for the first time in many weeks she looks up at her son, and is able to remember who he is. Victor strokes his mother hair with a tear in his eye, and the groundskeeper enters loudly behind him. Victor quickly hides his feelings, and him and the groundskeeper talk business about the state of the castle, the state of Victors mother, and the groundskeeper tells him it might be time to sell the estate and move on. Victor is quiet at this suggestion, and awkwardly avoids giving an answer. He makes an excuse and leaves back into the castle. This time he enters a very large office space. Computers and scientific equipment litter the room, a messy and disorganized place, and he sets down in front of his "spot" and begins to comb message boards for conspiracy news. A story catches his eye, and he reads it with growing fear. He gets up and strides among the decaying family library. In a quick time lapse, we see it takes him hours to find the right tomb. When he finally does open the book, he is exhausted. He lays the book on a table and sets the flickering lantern down. He finds a passage in the book and makes notes. Closing the book, he takes that note and goes to the top of the castle. Here we see an old astrolab built in the 1960s. It takes time for him to power up the lab. He inputs some single button commands and then a set of coordinates. A satellite on the roof calibrates painfully slow. From somewhere in the lab, the sound of an old printer cuts through the silence. Victor collects the sheets, and lays them down forming a larger picture. The camera pans back and doom is standing over the picture of a Comet; Destination Earth.

Next we see principle Beast. The mutant strides with confidence down the halls of Xaviers school for mutants, telling kids to get to class. He opens a supply closet and two mutants are making out. He loudly shouts detention before striding onward. He checks into a classroom where Storm is teaching, the kids are settling in and him and Storm greet each other warmly. The bell rings and he closes the door and heads down the stairs to the lower level. One of his older students, a graduate, is sorting through a stack of papers. He hands one to Beast to read and analyze as he walks into the greenhouse. In the greenhouse is another mutant, with the Life Shaping gift. He is working an advanced tree lattice, used for high volume carbon capture. Beast runs his hands along the leaves and compliments his students work. We see various tree hybrids in the background. He then digs into the article with a red pen, walking around the room and absolutely destroys the scientific paper in an epic rant. It is then that he receives a call from one "doctor doom" He slaps the bundle of papers into the first students chest, lets him know 'what to do with this pile', and strides out of the room for a moment of privacy. When Beast finally answers the phone we see that he is using an uncustomary gentle tone. Beast and Victor talk and Beast gently tells him to slow down and walk him through his discovery. Beast listens and then inspects the image of the comet on his desktop pc. Beasts brow furrows in concern. He says the possible implications of this are huge and the danger it might pose is very much worth looking into. He promises Victor that he will forward this research to his friends in NASA. He solemnly swears to Victor that 'one way or another' they will get to the bottom of this.

Cut forward to several years later. A cutting edge space ship sits on the launch pad, full sun bright in the sky, gleaming off the Chrome Stark Industries logo. The future Fantastic Four are hard at work getting ready for launch. We are taken through the process of the morning before a space launch. Spirits are so high. This is an opportunity to investigate an asteroid in person! An exciting new chapter for space exploration! A reporter chatters way in front of a camera crew, explaining how the agency plans to capture the asteroid using mobile booster drones. (like the ones used in Spiderman far from home). Peter Parker has given NASA some limited permissions to use Stark Tech. Spirits could not be higher on this day, and their is literally zero tension at the base. We are introduced to the history and exploits of Richard, Sue, Johnny, and Ben. Richard Reeds, a brilliant scientist at NASA has solved several crisis with the Mars Rover missions, as well as solved several coding issues with deep space probes. He has wrote some of the worlds most widely used apps, and he led the team that developed the US governments proprietary Anti-Virus software. In addition to his coding skills he is an expert at using scientific equipment, and understands how to write algorithms that can analyze almost any data from them. Sue Storm, has studied extensively on psychology and interpersonal dynamics. She wrote the book on conflict resolution between astronauts, and is a mediation consultant on dangerous high stress work environments. She is also infamous for talking down a hostage situation at a bank she was visiting when she was 17. Johnny Storm, the youngest of the team, has not had as much time to make a name for himself. However he was briefly, for six days, considered the fastest land speed driver, until his record was broken again by (insert annoying rival here, Hammer?). Using his connections as a Storm, he is able to work on what he loves most; Driving stupidly fast vehicles. Lastly, Ben Grimm, an expert in emergency rescue and response, fire science, controlled demolitions, as well as first aid treatment. During his storied career he has saved countless lives and during the alien attack on New York, lead rescue teams into harms way to save civilian lives. He would later develop cancer from the atmospheric toxins, only to be aided by Richard Reeds, who took personal interest in Ben Grimm and the other response crews fate and worked to get him the help he needed. He made a full recovery and has worked with Reed to this day.

The Four make their way into the ship, rising up the platform, smiling and waving to the TV cameras. Victor Von Doom is watching the news. He notices that a certain piece of equipment on the ship has been switched out from the original plan. He has a meltdown and calls Beast in a panic. Beast tries to tell him everything will be fine, but is finally convinced to call Richards and warn him. Beast gets off the phone with Victor and reluctantly calls Richards during his last minute prep. Richard gets a call on his private communicator. He is surprised Beast is calling him at this time, and even more surprised when hears the Beasts warning. Richard is quiet, and turns to study the ship he will soon depart in. He is deep in thought, when suddenly he blinks, quickly turns back and pointedly asks who gave this information to Beast. Beast is quiet a moment, then reluctantly tells him that Victor Von Doom is the one who noticed the last minute equipment switch. Trying to prove Victors credibility, he tells Richard that Victor Von Doom is in fact the one who alerted Beast to the comet's very assistance in the first place. Richard gives a small and mean laugh when he hears Victor's name. He turns to his family and sarcastically tells them that they might have to cancel the mission, because we might be on a fools quest. Shaking his head in disbelief he tells Beast that everything will be fine and hangs up on him. We see Richard is angry, and then in an emotional moment, turns to the cameras and pulls away a reporters microphone. He greets the audience with forced cheerfulness, and tells the news station that this mission will be the best launch NASA has ever had, and not even "the mad Doctor Doom" could foresee anything going wrong today. He tosses the mic back to the anchor and strides to the elevator, pushing Johnny a little more into the compartment and hits the button. On his computer back at home Victor sees the live stream, and knows Richards is mocking. He jumps up with an angry scream and pushes over a file cabinet, making a mess.

Meanwhile at the launch site, news stations continue to chatter away. The elevator finishes its rise and locks into place. Airlocks hiss and afterward there is a moment of pure quiet. The family settles down into their respective seats. The checklist begins. After a moment Sue asks Richards about the moment in front of the cameras. He tells them what he learned from Beast, that this comet was originally discovered by Doctor Doom. The entire family bursts out laughing, and soon Richards is laughing as well. As they go about their start up procedures, they start naming off their favorite Doctor Doom conspiracy theories such as living earth and hollow moon. Johnny then makes an observation that Doctor Doom did warn of an alien attack days before the alien attack on New York, and for a moment they are thoughtful. Then they are back to business and the countdown to launch begins! A broken clock is right twice a day Richards remarks and today their is no room for doubt. We see the rocket ignite, a flash of bright white, and slowly the Stark Rocket begins to rise up into the bright cloudless sky. The rocket soars across the sun on the other side we can see stars emerge. In this upper atmosphere the Stark Tech deploys, the rocket boosters shimmer and transform into stabilizers. (The ship can change form like Tony's latest suits.) Once clear of the atmosphere they settle in for the four hour flight, and begin prepping the equipment. The comet soon enters the viewpoint and the family shares a moment of wonder and awe at the brilliant hued celestial body.

The Stark Rocket enters into orbit around the comet and they begin detailed scans of the surface. Ben Grimm, who is operating the surveying equipment, says he keeps noticing irregularities. Richard takes a quick look and dismisses it. He says that it is within tolerance, and there must be allot of complex chemical compounds in the asteroid, which is unusual but not unexpected. Richard says that this is going to be a treasure trove of scientific data! Ben's brow furrows, and he says okay, but we see his doubt begin. Johnny begins a landing sequence, and complains the the ship is doing most of the work. Sue teases her brother, telling him that when has he ever complained about things being too easy! The ship touches down, and a suite of testing probes unfold from the ship. Richards and Johnny get to work cutting and drilling into the rock, working hard to collect the needed samples. Sue stops a moment place a hand on Richards arm and they smile at each other, the joy of discovery clear on their faces. Sue smiles to herself as she writes her action report of current events. We hear her talking back and forth with NASA ground crew and Ben Grimm is also in the background, talking into a TV camera. A drone captures footage of his work in real time, and we see Ben open a small air lock with a space rock, the first of many to be tested and analyzed. He smiles and holds the rock up to the camera and explains for all the viewers on earth what they will be doing with this rock and the various test they will be running over the coming days and weeks! He begins to label samples and sort the rocks and debris into various containers.

Johnny curses in frustration and we see him struggling at his station, calling out that the drill broke! The team gather around to see what happened. They work to clear the rocks and broken equipment and underneath they see a vein of silver-blue Vibranium . They suck in their breath. They quickly tell the NASA crews that they need to cut the feed and they will be right back. The recording ends. The four look at each other and Reeds quietly tells Ben to show him the survey data again. They circle around the holo-display table. This time they look closer. Reeds says that these numbers don't match up. He points at the table, and says that if these two spots are Vibranium, then is there is not enough material to account for all these masses on the surface. The density of the asteroid is clearly wrong Ben remarks. He points to a large mass in a nearby canyon. Ben begins to cough and Richard looks a little alarmed. Richard says that the omni-histamines should be stopping any allergic reaction to space dust and other foreign particles. Ben says he is fine his throat is just scratchy, probably just some old scar tissue and that they should focus on the job. Reeds agrees and calls for preparation to move the ship too another location. As the ship lifts off and moves the audience can see a chemical reaction is happening in the impression the landing equipment made. The connection to NASA is reestablished and the family is once again explaining to the TV what they are working on, explaining to the viewers that want to get a better view of certain features of the comet as well as collect samples from another promising location. The interviewers happily accept the answer that the family themselves are beginning to doubt. The ship enters the shadow of a canyon. Strange veins of crystal line the walls and at the bottom is a shallow pool that bubbles with heat and steam. The ship hovers at the bottom of the canyon. Reeds says that they will need to travel deeper into the canyon on foot. The family loads up equipment on a hover sleigh, and waits in the large airlock. The door shimmers and disappears and johnny hits the accelerator, shooting out the airlock and gliding across the bubbling lake.

As the four progress deeper into the canyon, Richard has a seismic detector, and as he takes measurements he guides johnny through the many paths that crisscross the comet. At one point gas erupts from the earth causing the four to turn back and find another route. Johnny saves the sleigh with his quick reflexes. Finally they emerge into a clearing of sorts. In the center rests a green crystal, in the shape of a coffin. Inside is a strange deep purple entity, with desiccated flesh that writhes and moves inside its prison. Ben Grimm takes the first look, looking over at Richards, and asks him what they hell he could be looking at. Richards is uncustomarily quiet. Johnny goes in to take a closer look, but Sue stops him and pulls Ben away as well. She looks scared. There are protocols for this, she whispers. Rules we are supposed to follow when we encounter an alien species. The four pull back from the alien object and begin setting up communications array. After a time they are able to contact NASA. Sue tells them a code word for alien encounter and moves the camera to show the crystal casket. A stunned silence falls over mission control, and then there is a flurry desperate action. The director speaks loudly and clearly above the noise in the background. He tells the four that they need to get back to the ship and he expects to be hearing from the president in a minute so they can gain access to the nuclear codes. There is now a slight ultra sonic sound emanating from the clearing. Ben tells the crew to look. Surrounding the crystal coffin there is a shimmer, and it is repelling dirt and soil away from it. Ben, on a whim tosses a rock on top and it skips off. Richards sees this and gets a device from the sleigh. He takes measurements and looks nervous. He concludes that this barrier is almost impenetrable. Johnny is surprised and asks if even a nuclear device wouldn't work? Richard shakes his head no. Sue fearfully says that the creature inside must somehow intuitively know its in danger. Ben rushes to grab the communicator, and he tells the director about the new developments. He explains to the director that nuclear detonation is a non-option. Richard chimes in to say not only would it not destroy the chrysalis but most of the contaminated soil would still make it to earth. We gotta come up with another solution says Johnny. The four will head back to the ship to further analyze the data and come up with a plan. The ship is summoned and soon a hole breaks though the cavern ceiling. Out of the darkness a harpoon with a cable attached buries itself into the ground. A pod travels down the cable and unfolds into a evacuation until.

Back on the ship, the four take off their space suits and Ben once again starts coughing. This time he cannot seem to catch his breath. Sue grabs a medical kit and passes Ben an inhaler. This seems to help and he slips on a oxygen mask as well. He says that he feels stiff, and when he sits down his joints crack and pop. We see Sue try to pick up a stethoscope. The audience sees her hand go through the object momentarily, but Sue does not notice and gropes around until she finally grasps it. She places the stethoscope on Ben's chest and frowns with confusion. She can hardly make out his heart beat, and when she places her hand on his chest it is so hard! His heart beat is so muffled. Concerned, Ben now struggles to take his shirt off but then it rips off like paper. Underneath the shirt his chest has patches of discolored skin. He yells for Richard in alarm. What the hell is happening to me Ben asks. We see Richard is worried. He tells johnny to activate quarantine protocol on the ship. Richard tries to take a blood sample but the needle breaks. He spins around and grabs a drone. He carefully sets it up, then plugs it into his laptop. Using remote control he begins to cut the sections of skin off, ever so carefully. When he is done, Ben looks better then before but not great. Sue is in the background looking at a sample of Ben's skin under a microscope. Johnny is talking to NASA and trying to answer questions as best as he can. The four will continue to work for many hours to come, and later we see them start to settle in for the night. Sue and Johnny quietly prepare food and eat, while Ben rests in his sleeping bag. Richards is in another room pouring over the data. He blinks slowly and looks out the window at earth. He then reaches for his desktop computer and puts on a head set. The screen says he is calling Beast.

Beast appears on-screen and greets Richard. Beast asked Richard how the mission is progressing, and Richard shakes his head and sighs. Richard walks Beast through the situation. Beast is at a loss. Richard tells him that he thinks that he needs to have Victor join them in this conversation. Beast agrees and starts setting up the call. We skip to a few minutes later and the two are joined by Victor. Richards looks intensely at Victor, and tells him that he owes Victor an apology. Victor looks uncomfortable. He looks down and says that it might be best if they just got to work on the issues at hand. Before Richards can respond Victor changes the subject and asks if they have found any 'Life Seeds' and goes on to describe the crystal coffins in detail. Richard is amazed and asks Victor how he could know about the existence of these 'Life Seeds', and Victor flashes an ancient tomb across the video call, and tells Richard that the von Doom library contains many books of magic and prophecy. Richard is thoughtful, and then begins to relay some of the hard data they found from the site. As a Bio-engineer, Beast gives some incredible insight into the nature of the Pan-Contagion, and suggests a few compounds that could be used to help Ben. Victor adds that there must also be a psychic component to the Pan-Contagion, that something more then biology is at play here. Unless this connection is disrupted, it may be almost impossible to effect the comet in a meaningful way. It may even be capable of moving under its own power. The three are quiet. Then Beast says that he will talk to the Professor and see what he has to say. Richards asks who the Professor is and Victor excitedly says that the Professor is the worlds most powerful psychic, and Beast looks surprised. Beast says that hes never told Victor any details about Charles Xavier, and Victor waves his hands as if to wave away Beast's surprise. I long ago theorized that mutants walk among us, and Xavier has been long been suspected to be at the center of many unusual events.

The call ends shortly after that. We see Richard check in on a sleeping crew. He sits down to type and his left hand elongates without his notice. Back on earth Victor pours though stacks of books. A lamp burns near. Victor finds a page with an illustration of a 'Seed of Life'. He stops reading and concentrates on the picture, we see him begin to murmur. The lantern flame flickers, burning blue, then green, then back to red, and there is a burst of color. It clears and Victor is holding his head in pain. Now we see Beast walking across campus to Professor X's office. Inside Professor X is grading papers. He holds up a paper for Beast to inspect. Every being has an intimate connection to their own written words, he explains, and that can allow us a window into their mind, Charles explains. Looking at that paper, he gently closes his eyes and for a moment the audience can hear what the student is doing at that very moment. Charles returns his attention to the present and asks Beast about the Comet. He knows Beast's concern over the comet already, and asks him if his friend Victor von Doom was right be alarmed. Beast nods gravely, and tells Charles that the situation was worse they predicted. The comet is teeming with alien life, and the astronauts on the mission are beginning to suffer catastrophic changes to their DNA. Charles leans back a look of sympathy on his face. It is time for the X-men to intervene Charles declares. Beast says that he will prepare the quintet, and professor shakes his head. No, Beast, he says, their will be no need to leave the mansion this time. He gives Beast a list of students names, and tells Beast to bring them to the Cerebro chamber.

Beast goes to collect the students, all of which have at least a minor talent for telekinesis or psychic manipulation. They gather nervously in a choir formation in a deep excavation chamber. This version of Cerebro is a room that has been built upon a natural underground chamber. Doctor Doom would say that this place is a convergence of lay lines, but for Charles, he simply knows that this place can amplify his power many times over. Charles glides in the room with a helmet on his head greets his students calmly. He informs them that today they will be practicing a new technique, that they will all be forming a Psychic Host. Charles will guide them through the integration process, and Beast will check vitals. When the integration is complete, Charles will show them the next steps. He closes his eyes and activates Cerebro with his mind. The doors shut and the room begins to slowly move. Charles begins to hum, and we see the students eyes flutter closed one by one. Only a young Jean Grey is unaffected, and he speaks to her mind directly. You will be my second on this, Charles says to her. I need you to keep the core minds focused, while I round up the stragglers. Jean nods, closes her eyes willingly and gets to work. Beast checks the temperature of several students. He opens a cooler and lays several ice pack on the foreheads and chest of a few students. He goes to check Jean Greys temp but pulls his hand away with a hiss. She is burning up but seems to be fine anyway.

Far away in Doctor Strange's mansion we see a cosmic detector alarm active. One of the great powers, the Phoenix force was here for a moment on earth, and another cosmic force (entropy) continues to circle earth.

Back on the spaceship, a sleeping Johnny is engulfed in flame. Alarms activate and the four scramble to put out the flame. Afterwards we see them sitting around a table wrapped in towels, wet and bleary eyed and trying to figure out what happened. Johnny is angry, and says what is happening right now is crazy and makes no sense. He goes to leave the room but immediately begins to smoke, bursts into flame again. After he is extinguished they decide to put him into a makeshift burn victim unit. Richards turns to Sue and tells her that their going to have to remove most of the oxygen in the unit and induce a coma in Johnny. Sue nods and with a tear in her eye reaches a gloved hand into the unit to brush her baby brothers head. Her hand moves right though him, and she is confused. Richards does not notice, and injects him, and scans his brain. Alpha waves decreasing. He makes some adjustment. Beta waves are becoming secondary theta waves. Now Theta waves have taken primary position. He turns to tell Sue that its working, only to find her missing! She calls Richards name in panic, staring down at her vanished body. Richard calls out, and she tries to tell him she is right in front of him, but he walks right through her. Suddenly we see an invisible wind, one only she can see and feel. It tugs on her slightly. She is alarmed and tries to follow Richard only to stumble through the floor a little. She cries out to Richard again, I'm falling through the floor. Richard spins back around, and shouts no! He scrambles to locate her. You have to make it to me he says, you have to make it into the air lock. I cant help you unless you make into the chamber! He is scrambling around flinging switches and plugging equipment in. We see his hand gets caught and it stretches and pulls. Richard doesn't notice because it doesn't hurt but when he tries to use his hand he cannot and cries out in shock when he sees what is happening to himself. His one remaining hand shakes with fear, but he finishes his task. Meanwhile Sue has crawled her way into the air lock and is hanging on to the wall for dear life. Her knees have sunk below the floor. Richards looks through a box scope and sees her outline. Her voice registers as waves of sound and light, shown to us on the monitor. Richards calls out for sue to hang on tight. He holds down the airlock manual override, pushing it down with the weight of his body. He realizes that he will have to hold it shut manually, but also activate the coding sequence on the terminate across the room. He reaches his misshapen and stretched hand slowly towards the keyboard. A look of fear and determination passes across his face as his arm stretches longer. We see his fingers grab the table and his hand crawls the last inches and then the slams the enter key. The lights come on, filling the airlock with solar radiation. Sue is able to pull herself up from the floor and she screams in pain. She is hurt but stable. Richard helps her too her sleeping back and zips her in. He kisses her in the moment, and brushes her hair. A coughing comes from behind him and Ben wheezily says that he knew Richards had a thing for Ms. Storm. Ben asks if she is gonna be okay, if any of us will be okay. Richards says that for once he doesn't know as he cradles his misshapen arm. Ben tells Richards to help him get the hell out of this sleeping bag, he cant sit around any longer. They help each other back to the main room, both looking worse for wear.

Suddenly a voice speaks into Richards head. Hello Dr. Richard Reeds. My name is Charles Xavier. Beast is a friend and college of mine and has explained to me the situation as best as he could in the time allowed, but I need to be able to see the situation as you do and know the things you know if I am going to be able to help save your lives. Will you allow me access to your mind Richard? Richards looks around and asks what he needs to do, but Charles response by saying you must do nothing at all my new friend. Richard closes his eyes and we see Charles enter his mind. Information begins to pour into Charles mind and for the first time in his life the amount of data from another mind is almost overwhelming. Charles struggles at first but they begin to sync. What am I looking at Charles asks Richard, what are the key crisis? As Richard walks Charles through the components, Charles begins assigning different parts of Richards brain to groups of mutants. We see a pair of a triplets handle the emotional overload, and suddenly Richards is calm and collected. His body returns to its normal form, and he puts his hands behind his back and stands at attention at the window. Calling up a holo-display he shows Charles the chrysalis. These are the controllers Charles says, he can feel their connection to the single cell creatures the comet teems with. He carefully probes the chrysalis and we see a tremor run through the comet. Quick, Charles directs Jean, you must burn away those links between the hosts. We see ghostly flames begin to burn away the protective fields of the chrysalis. Each time a chrysalis shield is overcome, Ben directs a drone to attach and pull it up and away from the comets surface. A collection of crystal coffins floats in space now and the telekinetic mutants then target each coffin as it rises, and working in concert they blast each one into deep space. Soon only the last and the largest chrysalis remains. This one is larger then the rest and resists the psychic flames. Its strange eyes open for the first time in centuries. We see its mad eyes roam, then lock onto a distant object. It has become aware of the psychics. Within moments it infiltrates into the mind meld and sends a blast of psychic energy through the link. The mind mend fails and students clutch their heads in pain. Only Charles is unaffected, and he stubbornly maintains control over Richard and continues his battle against the Queen. She begins to awaken fully, and her next blast sends Richard and Charles into unconscious. Jean Grey has somewhat recovered. Pushing herself up from the floor, she cries out and the scream turns into a high pitch bird cry. We now see she is sending her astral form up, higher and higher. For a moment she overlooks the whole earth, then turns to the ship in the distance and quickly closes the gap. Inside she finds Ben struggling to wake Richards up. She waves he hands to get his attention. We have to go too the queen in directly she says, and I need your help. I cant touch things in this form. Ben nods in shock but immediately starts suiting up.

When the two enter the clearing of the alien queen, they see it strewn with broken drones. One weakly tries to rise and attach itself to the crystal coffin and the queen blasts it away. Jean turns to Ben. Get the booster ready and when the moment comes I will tell you when to attach it. We see Jean slowly float forward and an ultra sonic noise rises up. We see the alien queen writhe inside the coffin her form undulating, shifting and folding. Jean calls up her powers we see her form waver and become more bird like. Her pupils change to eagle eyes. They dart around with incredible speed. Each time the queen lashes out Jean counters each strike. Slowly the temperature rises of the area rises and heat waves begin to counteract the terrible ultra-sound. A muffling of sound falls over the clearing. Jean is countering each strike, in rapid succession. Then slowly she lifts a hand. It has become a bird talon. The claw clenches and suddenly the clearing is back to normal. Quick she shouts, place the last drone! Ben lumbers forward. We see in the last few minutes his condition has worsened exponentially. We see bulges and rips in his suit and it is now leaking pressure and atmosphere! The drone case is in his hand. He aligns the case as best he can and suddenly a Stark Containment unit comes to life. It shimmers and grows and wraps around the crystal coffin, forming a prison container. We see it shudder under the power of the queen but it holds. Jean Grey, now more bird then woman, grasps the container with her clawed feet and pulls the queen into orbit. The comet shudders and cracks, and without the last controller the rock begins to crumble apart. With a final scream Jean Grey blast the unit into deep space sending it tumbling into the outer solar system.

We see Jean Grey awaken in a bathtub of ice and she is steaming. Beast is checking her temperature. Back on the Comet Ben is trapped. The comet is breaking apart and he is separated from the ship. He radios the ship. There is no response. Johnny is in the burn unit. Richards is unconscious, and Sue in her sleeping bag. Suddenly she awakens. She is trapped in restraints to keep her from phasing out of the ship. She cant move, but she calls out to Ben. He explains what happened. She once again struggles against her bindings, then decides against that and begins talking to the ships AI. She closes her eyes and talks the ship through the launch sequence. She must override several critical safely systems. The AI does not want to go pick up Ben, but she convinces the ship to go anyway. By the time the ship gets to Ben he has been covered in Rock and dust, and when then ship lifts him away, it is almost hard to recognize the difference between him and the debris.

Quietly the ship hangs in orbit above earth. In slow motion we see the four injured astronauts. We see the X-men, stumbling out of Cerebro. And in New York Dr. Strange finally notices the Cosmic alarm. His eyes go wide and he casts a spell of scrying. A window appears and we see the comet. It is breaking into pieces and streaming down onto earth. He murmurs a spell and suddenly he is in space, floating, over looking the disaster. He begins to guide the pieces, sending them into locations away from cities and populated areas, aiming the pieces to hit wilderness. He looks angry. We see him turn his attention to the chrome Stark rocket.

Dr. Doom stands on his castle grounds with a scroll fragment in his hand. The illustration he holds up matches the scene, as we watch pieces of the comet rain down in the distance. The trees burn and the animals scream in fear and agony. In the tundra forests, we see a herd of Caribou. The contagion dusts them, and they writhe on the ground, growing huge and monstrous. When they rise they are bigger then the trees and they stampede through them with ease. We see a lone elephant drinking in the African plains. The dust rains, and the elephant falls to its knees. Its gentle eyes turn black and fill with anger and pain and when we zoom out, the beast is now titan. Towering over even the tallest building it lumbers its way toward a nearby city. A flock of small corrupted animals buzzes around it, mice and birds that have been transformed as well. In America a mountain lion is changed, in China a Tiger. Sharks and Mutant Whales attack fishermen near japan, and in Australia a nest of spiders is affected. A snake in the amazon. A polar Bear in the arctic. More and more animals are effected.

The avengers assemble! Music plays and we see different members and teams open up their emergency communicators. Each one shows a holographic image of a different titan. Spider Man sees a mutant two headed, eight limbed stag. It is crushing houses in the suburbs and chasing cars. He swings into action. Deadpool is relaxing on the beach and he looks up and sees a flock of mutant sea gulls. Holy shit balls he says, the symbiots are here. He dons his costume and waves at the oncoming flock. He is immediately snatched up and the seagulls begin to fight over who will eat him. Bits of Deadpool fly everywhere. Falcon takes to the sky, and begins to do battle a mutant mountain lion, playing a game of cat and bird. Ant-man is seen in his giant form wrestling with a giant wolf, but another wolf bites into him. Suddenly the Wasp grows as well, kicks the second wolf off of him and the two giants stand back to back, circled by the pack. The winter solder travels deep in the woods, we see him loaded with survival gear. He overlooks a canyon, where a giant moose has become too big to escape and is now hitting his head against the walls. He begins to assemble a shoulder mounted rocket launcher. In Norway we see a nest of vipers are infected. They bind together into a hydra and each head can spit acid, melting trees and rock. It makes its way too the road, melting several cars in the process. Valkyrie watches the hydra from horseback on the top of a small hill, several new Valkyrie are with her.

Dr Strange portals his way into the Stark Rocket. Inside the Fantastic Four are in rough shape. Dr Strange puts up a containment bubble around each member, and floats them through into the Strange Mansion. In the Mansion he uses magic to make a medical wing, and places the four in beds. We see Dr. Strange hangs up his cloak, and puts on a set of scrubs. He begins taking temperatures, and running tests. He is wearing a medical mask. He sighs with frustration. He is getting no where. He opens a portal to the hospital were Doctor Christine Palmer works and goes in search of help.

Meanwhile, we see the destruction on earth continues. Some Titans have been defeated, but others are just being held at bay. In the jungles we see men with flamethrowers battling giant rats, and in Wakanda the elephant titan bashes its head into the shield wall. Great ropes trail behind the titan, cords that lead to lines of warriors, organized into a massive tug of war effort. Other Wakandans launch coordinated efforts to bring down the titan. One after another, each Wakanda tribe sets up a new attack, Vibranium trip wires, catapults with bolder sized bolas, and nets crackling with electricity. Finally the beast falls and is swarmed by the mob. As they work to secure the titan, it bellows out. From the end of its trunk blasts sonic waves blow warriors from its prone body as it struggles to rise once more.

Turning back to Dr Strange, He is now holding a clip board, running over notes with Dr. Palmer. They go through symptoms and Dr. Palmer starts listing different diagnosis. Dr. Strange counters her, but she reminds him that she understands the Pan-Contagion idea. It should be no different then an aggressive foreign bio infection, like we see with amoebas and other multi celled creatures that can enter the blood stream and reek havoc on the human body. Dr. Strange is thoughtful, and then he says that their must be an unknown magical element to this that he has overlooked. Dr. Palmer looks a little lost, she says she doesn't understand that part of his world. Dr. Strange looks into the distance and tells her that he always intended to show her his magic, but his work keeps him very busy. He turns back to her and exclaims that there is no time like the present, and she should accompany him to meet a powerful spirit of knowledge. She looks doubtful, but when he opens the portal she gets an excited look in her eyes. He puts an arm around her waist and steps through the portal. Inside is a misty realm of old wood. Gnarled and twisted roots pave the path in front of him. A fox slips from the brush, and sits on a stump. You have come here unannounced, my lord Strange, the fox says, and you have brought a naked mortal, stripped of all illusion. Suddenly Dr. Palmer is naked, and she shivers and covers herself. What the hell Strange! She yells. Dr. Strange turns back to the fox with a serious intent. Listen spirit, Strange says, I didn't come here to play games, I came here for knowledge. Undo your trick and give my friend back her clothes. The fox nods, gives a nervous smile and darts off. Dr. Strange turns back and suddenly Dr. Palmer is clothed in an ornate medieval dress. She turns to him and says, oh my love, what a wicked creature, let us tarry in yonder woods no longer! Dr. Strange is more confused then ever, but takes her hand and lets her lead him down the path. (a note to the reader, this realm is similar to the town of Westview in Wandavision, and most things that enter here will be transformed to match the realm, excluding a few select individuals like Dr. Strange.)

On the Doom Estate we see victor leading the groundskeeper, who is carrying his mother, through the rooms of the estate. We hear a wind outside, and the shutters rock and slam. Underneath a stairwell they crouch, listening intently. One of the windows bursts open and a flock of bat swarm into castle. Instead of growing to great size, these bats have been transformed into a unified mass. Bat and tendrils streak down the hallways, blindly searching for prey and causing destruction. We see the astolab is destroyed, and as quickly and quietly as he can Victor leads his family into the cellars and old dungeons. He struggles to open a rusted door that hasn't been touched in a century. The mass of bats is getting closer. We hear the chirps of echo-location, only they sound meaner and more vicious somehow. Victor and the groundskeeper work together, prying the door open. A second after the door is clear, the swarm is upon them. Victor cries out, summoning a weak shield made of light. The brightness of the spell drives back the bats long enough to get through the door and the groundskeeper pulls it shut. The sounds of the swarm are muted beyond the ancient door, and we hear the quiet drip of water in the underground. Victors mother moans and is starting to loose control again. Victor looks scared, he is unable to get her medicine. He pulls his cell phone from his pocket, and uses the dim light to push several crumbling crates and other detritus aside, and digs dirt out of an old window. A little sun light peaks through and Victor holds the phone up into the air and makes a call to Beast.

If you have made it this far I want to thank you for reading. This is my first piece of long-form creative writing. Hopefully its not too awful. I write this a paragraph or two at a time and hopefully I will finish it in the next couple weeks!
