The flipside

oollies2004 asked for a oneshot of Snowing being able to see Emma's future memories before the curse hits. For this Charming was still badly wounded sending Emma through, but not unconscious.

Guest: Sorry, but that kind of thing has been done repeatedly.

Every step Snow took was sheer agony. She clutched at her abdomen, gritting her teeth and forcing herself to keep moving at speed. She didn't care that she shouldn't even be out of bed right now, she had to know her baby made it through. That her husband was ok.

Using the wall to support her, Snow stumbled her way down the hall through to Emma's nursery. She did her best to ignore the chaos roundabout her. The not so distant sounds of screams from enemies and allies alike as the battle raged on. It didn't matter to Snow now who was winning. In her mind, they had already lost. They had lost their baby girl, the curse was coming no matter what. What did it matter who won at this point?

Snow made her way into Emma's nursery. She immediately saw Charming lying in the middle of the room, his blood slowly surrounding him.

"Charming!" She cried out. She made her way to him, falling to her knees at his side. Charming reached out feebly with a shaking hand and clasped Snow's hand.

"She made it, Snow. She got through." Was the first thing Charming told his wife. She had to know Emma was safe, no matter what. Snow managed to give a small smile. That felt of little comfort just now. She might have made it through, but who could really tell if she was safe? Their baby girl was alone in the unknown. All they could do was hope. Then there was her husband, who was most definitely not safe. "She'll find us, Snow. I know it. Whatever Regina does to us, Emma will break this curse…"

"That I doubt very much." Came a cold voice from behind them. Snow did her best to shield Charming's wounded body. Not that she had much chance against her former stepmother right now either. Regina just smirked.

"Why would I get my hands dirty fighting you when I have already won?" She asked them.

"You haven't won. Emma got through the wardrobe. She will break your curse." Charming snarled. Regina wasn't worried by this in the slightest. She began to circle the couple.

"Oh your daughter made it through alright. The problem is, what Hell have you sent your own child to?" She asked cryptically. Snow and Charming felt like they'd been plunged into ice cold water.

"Where is our baby?" Snow demanded. They thought sending her through made her safe, allowed her to not be cursed. Meant she could come back for them. Regina laughed a humourless laugh.

"Oh I don't know exactly where the little brat is, but I do know she won't be happy. At least not for long." She explained.

"What does that mean?" Charming barked. Why wasn't their baby going to be happy? Regina made a vial appear out of nowhere.

"I had the Dark One give me an extra along with the curse. Something to rub a little salt into the wound." Regina explained. She opened the vial and it flowed over both Snow and Charming.

Suddenly, their eyes clouded over. Strange images began to flood their brains. Images they just knew were of Emma.

A little girl screaming as she was placed in the back of a strange carriage, crying for her parents.

A child sitting in a room filled with other children eating, but she had no food.

A teenager, cowering in a cupboard whilst a man yelled, demanding she show herself.

The same teenager trying to hold it together as she was sentenced to time in prison.

A young woman, alone.

Snow and Charming came back to their senses. Emma. What had they cursed her to? Before they could properly regret their choices, the curse enveloped them all. The last thing they heard was Regina's victory laugh.
