Out of spite

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma calling her dad David and him being mad.

Guest: I've actually got a story where Emma has a big brother already. If memory serves me right, his name was Lucas?

Guest: That's another thing that's been covered in one way or another.

Sometimes working with your family was no easy task. Charming and Emma found this out all too frequently when they locked horns at the station. As with all colleagues, sometimes they disagreed on what path to take in any given situation. Unfortunately though, they weren't just colleagues. They were father and daughter. So sometimes, things got personal.

"You know as well as I do that we don't have enough staff to man the station all the time." Charming argued with Emma. "The dwarves are busy enough. We need more manpower. We need more help, and you know it." Emma closed her eyes and sighed. They'd been through this at least a hundred times.

"Look David, I keep telling you, regardless of how overstretched we are, the budget won't cover anyone else so we're just going to have to deal." Emma snapped. Charming raised his eyebrows.

"Look who?" He asked, not quite believing Emma would dare revert back to referring to him as David. Even Emma could see she'd overstepped a mark they'd long crossed. She cleared her throat.

"All I'm saying is you know we haven't got the money for more force. So just drop it."

"Whatever you're saying to me, I expect you to still be respectful, both as a colleague and as my daughter. We've gone past the first name basis stage. Don't go back there out of anger just to hurt me." Charming told Emma off before walking away so he didn't say his own things out of anger, because as the parent he had to show Emma the example.
