Out of spite- part 2

Ana asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch3002 "Out of spite" where Charming is more upset than he lets on and Snow suggests Emma makes a grand gesture to make up for it.

Guest: I've done quite a lot of that kind of thing before.

"He's making such a big deal out of it." Emma grumbled. Snow didn't respond. She knew as well as Emma did that Charming wasn't making a mountain out of a molehill. He was making a mountain out of a mountain. He had every right to be hurt by Emma's sudden regression, especially when it was only to hurt him. Emma sighed. She knew what her mother's silence meant.

"I've fucked up, haven't I?" Emma asked quietly. Snow sighed. She looked over at her daughter.

"You've hurt him." Snow responded honestly. Emma shifted uncomfortably, as she always did when emotions were involved. "That doesn't mean this is irreparable. Saying sorry is a start, but I think he deserves more than that. Go all out. Show him how much he means to you. We both know you're a massive daddy's girl." Emma's mouth fell open in horror and her cheeks went pink.

I am not a-"

"Oh hush." Snow interrupted her denial, throwing a cushion at her. "You can fix this, Emma. You just need to think how." Emma rested our head against her arms on the table in front of her. It was thinking how that was the problem.

It took Emma a couple of weeks to sort out how she was going to make it up to her dad. A couple of weeks of frosty relations between them that was almost unbearable. Emma was just grateful it was all (hopefully) going to be over soon.

Charming came into the station with the same unsettling feeling he'd had since he and Emma had fallen out. He hated not being on speaking terms with her, but she'd gone too far this time. It had to be her that made the first move. When he looked up and saw his desk, he was more than a little taken aback. It was covered in pictures of him and Emma. Some in beautiful frames. Some in a photo album. Some just stuck on to his notice board. There was also a balloon tied to his drawer handle and a card propped up. Upon closer inspection, it was clear these both said happy Father's Day. Charming held the card in his hands, thinking.

"I know I'm a little early, but I thought now was the right time." Came a quiet voice from across the room. Charming looked round, to see Emma sitting nervously on her own desk. "I just wanted to show you how much you really mean to me. Every single picture I've ever taken of us, I keep it. They mean a lot to me. Sorry if I've got a little overboard…"

"Don't be." Charming said, voice choked up with emotion. He came over and pulled Emma into his arms. "It's perfect." Emma relaxed into her dad's hug.

"I'm sorry about what happened." She added, feeling that it needed to be said. Charming kissed her forehead.

"It's alright." He promised her. "Let's move on." Emma rested her head against her dad's shoulder, contented. She'd been so miserable since they fell out. She felt like she could finally put it behind her now.
