Remnants of the last Dragonborn- Chapter 2, Farewells and surprise visits.

"So that's what happened, the Pages came, told me of my choices to die, by being swallowed by the world or travel to a world in which I'm originally from, alright out with it let's hear it who wants to go first?" Jaune asked his closest friends and allies gathered in his Manor. His children slept in the bedrooms they cherished. Clasping his hands together behind his back. As he wore a comfortable tunic to keep him warm.

Silence reigned over the home which was becoming very discomforting for everyone after hearing this dreaded news of his impending fate. It took a week to reach out to everyone he called family and took a further week for them to travel to Lakeview Manor.

"You've saved countless lives, saved Nirn from destruction from foreign threats and even internal ones caused by it's people," Begun Jarl Balgruuf of Whiterun. "However to hear that the divines do not aid you in this difficult time but foreigners from another realm, it's very disheartening old friend." Sighing long and hard at the injustice of it all.

The sound of a chair hitting the ground in haste as someone shot out of it. Looking to the origin of said sound was Aela the Huntress with a very angry expression on her face, taking one longing gaze at the Dragonborn she made her leave to calm herself, grabbing a glass bow she slammed the main door open before they closed.

"In this one's honest opinion, J'zargo thought you would be the one to do that Lady Serana." The mage Khajiit known as J'zargo spoke softly trying to lighten the mood only to get flung aside, smashing into the closest wall by a telekinesis spell courtesy of the lady vampire.

"Not now J'zargo," Seethed Serana said to the cat man. Look at her saviour she could easily be seen trying to withhold tears but failing miserably. "After all the shit we've been through together. After all you've done. After years of making Skyrim, Tamriel safer for us, your friends, your children!," Voice growing ever louder as she continued.

"You're being taken away from me because your damned ancestor was a sore loser!," No one in that moment decided to call her out on her slip up.

"Then the very people who got you to Skyrim in the first place, the originators of it all decide to come along and say 'Oh don't worry we'll fix everything by taking you away for 10 years, from everything you've achieved to a world that hates you, over paper!'... Why? Why did this have to happen to us Jaune?" Finally Serana broke down in his arms as he rubbed her back soothingly.

Serana loved Jaune more than anything he had given her freedom, vengeance, a family, friends everything she ever dreamed of having, after becoming a vampire she gave up on those simple things but then one day he came along and her life was never the same again.

"I don't know what to tell you Serana." He looked into her glowing pleading eyes. Before returning to the rest. "I don't know what to tell any of you that will ease your minds, all I ask is that we get through this, with the time I had before your arrival," Leaving the vampiric beauty in his arms he sent to a nearby shelf with a stack of envelopes. "Inside each of the individual envelopes is an account for each of you with enough gold to last the ten years."

Jaune handed the envelopes getting gratitude from each of them some more than others were stubborn in accepting the money, but they knew that they couldn't deny his kindness.

Taking a seat he smiled looking at all his new family, then the smile fell along with the mood which was beginning to recover. "The most important task I ask will be the greatest favour I could ask any of you. My children need someone to cherish them, protect, to be their light in the dark, I ask of you my friends who will take up this task, except Cicero." He said in humour and slight seriousness, getting a chuckle from the men and ladies. Honestly Jaune would never trust any person with the insane assassin even if he was getting slightly better.

"So my listener what is the task you seek for me, your humble follower to accomplish?" Giggling at the prospect of a task worthy of his talents.

"Cicero, as listener and current leader of the Dark brotherhood, I Jaune Arc Dragonborn give you and our loyal members the task of safe guarding my children from a distance, only when necessary will you get anywhere close to them, now I must of you to go, inform our brotherhood of my fate and theirs." Jaune spoke in a firm and authoritative tone to his advisor.

Maniacal laughter engulfed the manor. "YES, YES IT SHALL BE DONE, AHHAHAH!" This got a quick whack from the returning huntress knocking the jester onto his face on the floor.

"Aela, I'm glad your back we were just discussing what to-" Jaune was interrupted by his werewolf companion.

"I'll take the triplets Arc. I've always had a soft spot for them." True it was Aela loved the kids like a mother would always going above and beyond teaching them everything he couldn't about hunting. The camping trip they would take near Falkreath in the summer were always such a fond memory.

"I thank you Aela, truly it means the world to me I-" Once again Aela interrupted the dragonborn once again.

"Shut it Arc!" Her voice was cold in tone. "You listen well, your recklessness cost the life of your children's father. You, a father that any child only begs to be the daughter or son of, is leaving their side for 10 years due to the mistake you made fighting an opponent alone!" At this point her breathing became more feral as if on the verge of changing.

"Swear to me Aela the Huntress of the Companions, you shall return no matter what you must do to achieve it … SWEAR IT!" A tense silence of narrowed furious eyes gazing into calm blue was undone when Jaune started making his way towards her.

"By my title as Harbinger, Jaune Arc, Dragonborn, slayer of Alduin, slayer of Harkon and slayer of Miraak, pledge to return to thy family no matter what befalls others, Arc's honour and you know what they say-"

"An Arc never goes back on his word!" Stated in unison, which caused Jaune to blush and rub his neck in embarrassment. In a rare moment Aela embraced Jaune in a tight hug, in front of the others gaining flirty whistling from the Companion guests and a saucy meow courtesy of J'Zargo.

Unknown to them some members of the female persuasion appeared incredibly jealous, except Serana who already had her moment to be wrapped in his welcoming muscular arms and warmth.

"J'Zargo will take Grace, if the Dragonborn will permit the idea." Stepping forward, getting the Dragonborn to release his friend and look at the legendary mage.

"Oh, and what makes you think you're capable of looking after my daughter." Looking at the now angry Khajiit sputtering about all his greatness, not able to contain himself, Jaune laughed increasingly hard, almost stumbling over at his growing humor of the situation.

"I'm kidding J'zargo, I was hoping you would, Grace will surely appreciate it, but word to the wise I'm the father not you. Remember that." Clasping a hand onto the mage's shoulder and there it was the ever doting protective father Jaune Arc coming to make an appearance.

Which got the man-cat to shiver slightly but too prideful to think or say his thoughts about the overprotective father.

"Anyway we have roughly less than 3 months so we should create some safeguards and brainstorm what will happen but after this week I wish to spend what remaining time I have with the kids." He said with a toothy smile he would use to always get his way.

For over three days the followers and family of the Dragonborn discussed and proposed multiple plans for scenarios that might take place during his leave, and then after all was prepared the penultimate day came, the one he was dreading most, telling his children what was going on.

The sight of them breaking, devastating, the sounds they made, unbearable, it was all to much for the children and even himself to handle for over a month Jaune never left their side for a moment performing his regular parent duties, the last months he had with his children were all so happy and generous getting to see their smiles hear the laughter.

It was the only things getting him through it all.

However the day came much sooner than anyone would have hoped…

Lakeview Manor, Skyrim

4E 215

Knock, knock, knock, the sound of that knocking pushed dread into everyone's intestines as they all knew who was visiting today. Getting up everyone made their way to the main front doors, everyone was wearing their regular attires and armour. Yet Jaune wore his enchanted Daedric armour glowing a dark blue, with his grown back into a similar style of when he first came to Skyrim as his helmet rested underneath his arm.

For weapons Jaune decided on bringing Dawnbreaker resting on his waist due to the Grimm being of eternal darkness why not bring the sword that smites said darkness. A dozen ebony daggers for throwing and close quarters combat. Then for a ranged weapon he chose a Daedric bow enchanted with Paralysis and Soul stealing.

Inside a small satchel he had multiple Health, magicka and stamina potions ready if the occasion arises, a few lock picks, greater soul gems and gold which he planned to sell to get some quick lien.

Opening the door showed Aqua, Crimson and Dark Page ready for him.

Turning to all his frie- No family, he gave a final grand speech.

"14 years ago I was merely a young lad stranded in this foreign land with nothing but my clothes and a chest piece, I was heading to the chopping block for a crime I never committed that day I met my destiny, Alduin but now I realise he was not my destiny however all of you were. My children who made me the happiest father in the world, please use the Arc name with pride and remember what I taught you." Walking over he hugged his children for the last time until 10 years from now, they wept in his arms before they released him.

"To you my noble friends, my family, you have saved my ass more time than I can remember (Laughter from the gathered) we've bled, shed sweat and tears for this land and this family we have made together as a final plea from a brother to his sisters and brothers you won't go dying until I get back, aye!" That got a few to sniffle and bark out aye's in return.

Taking his right fist and shoving it forward getting the others to do the same.

"All hail Jaune Arc, our brother, our family and the Dragonborn of Legend, may he return to us swiftly and bring more tales for the bards to sing!" Bellowed Farkas.

"You know we have a gift for all you, but we're starting to get a bit impatient here, so let's hurry this up!" Dark rudely interrupted getting killing intent sent his way.

"Ugh, brother, do remember your manners. We are guests here and it is very important for all of them." Forcefully Aqua shoved Darks head down in apology. "Ignoring Darks rude remark, time is of the essence I'm afraid but we indeed do have a gift for you all, do you recognise this Jaune?" Outstretching his right hand to the sky a ball of water appeared hovering slightly above the palm which vanished leaving a scroll in his hand.

"By the Nine it has been far too long since I've seen one of those." Jaune reminisced about the one he lost during his first week of being in Skyrim.

"Well if you would all please gather together and smile in the centre we can get our gift ready for each of you."

As the gears turned inside Jaune's head at the statement he realised what he was planning. Telling everyone to get into position having his children in front of him with the ones holding the secret desire of affection for him close by and the other spread out together. As for the pets Arachne the biggest of the lot was placed behind everyone but due to the sheer size of her it wasn't an issue. For Princess the saber tooth laid at the feet of the children.

Once everyone got into a comfortable position a small click sound was heard coming from the tablet like object. After a few moments Aqua had a small stack of something called 'Photographs' which captured the image of the gathered crowd.

"Thank you Aqua, I know I will never forget anyone here but having this means more than you know." Gently holding the photo Jaune stored it inside his satchel.

"Think nothing of it Jaune, however we must be off." Opening another green portal hovering above the ground by a few inches the Pages walked through. Giving one final look to his family and goodbye followed after the Pages.

New Location: The World of Dimensional Gateways.

"Ughhh I think I'm gonna throw up," Jaune weezed out trying to calm his body from the odd reaction to the portal. Looking at the surrounding area Jaune noticed the absolute beauty of it all it appeared as though nature was this location's only resident.

"Welcome Jaune to the World of Dimensional Gateways, in the simplest terms point A - Nirn- was where you came from to get to point B - Remnant- you need to cross over here first to continue the journey, do you understand?" Jaune nodded along with a simple concept indeed.

"So do we have to find this portal to Remnant or something?" Throwing the question out there.

"No, no we simply just summon the portal to us. However what we are doing right now is merely to give you the rest of your gifts to make this quest of surviving in Remnant more applicable." Waving his hand Aqua summoned forth a sack with the simple of oblivion glowing purple on it. "This is an Oblivion bag I know you had one but left it to your friend Serana but we took the liberty of obtaining a new one for yourself filled with Ingredients, Spell tomes, Potions, Apparel and Weapons you have collected over the years." To prove his point Aqua withdrew Dragonbane from within.

"Wait did you, ROB MY HOME!?" Snatching the bag away inspecting it's contents.

"Why yes we did, but only items and such that you weren't planning to giveaway or items to dangerous to be left alone *Cough Ebony Blade of Mephala cough*Oh excuse me anyway, most if not all of your equipment gathered over the last 14 years should be inside that bag, alongside 10 million gold coins you gathered with precious gems included." Aqua finished.

"Now onto the next gift, the most important of all in my humble opinion, Information." Okay now this was more important to Jaune as the amount of times he's been on a journey with little to no information to get a job done really pissed him off. "We'll first inform you of a couple issues then you may ask any questions." Jaune simply stood in place allowing for the man to continue.

"Remnant a planet with a gruesome origin, has no access to magic aside from six individuals and a couple dusty old relics…" Showing the image of five female-like figures of water and a male figure stood before him alongside something similar to a crown, a staff, a sword and some kind of lamp. "Only working together with more than one of each could they hope to kill you in a fair fight. I just thought to foreshadow a bit so you won't react too violently." That got a befuddled look from Jaune only understanding the magic is only wielded by six people.

"Anyway only two of the six can perform magic of various attributes such as yourself. Whilst the remaining four only possess a primal control of the main elements, think of it as they only wield basic destruction spells nothing akin to runes or anything overly complicated."

'Easy enough to counter I suppose with a simple ward spell or enchanted armour, I suppose I should make necessary arrangements when I get a chance.'

"Now Jaune these individuals are dangerous not only due to the magic they wield but their connections to powerful or down right insane individuals, so you've been warned." Aqua warned.

"Okay we've spoken of dangers relating to your safety, now onto you in particular. Jaune you have free reign, use magic, hide it, summon a dragon, slay all the Grimm in the world, for all we care you can enslave the world but we know you won't." Taking a breath Aqua continued.

"Simply put you have nothing to hide if you want of course just know it will cause unnecessary discomfort. Moving on, Aura. The Aura you once possessed was locked when you came to Nirn the same happened to every incarnation of yourself when they were transported."

"So in conclusion I have to seek someone to awaken my Aura once more, right?" Jaune asked, gaining a nod from Aqua.

"Yes, we Pages have the potential to use Aura but we prefer the use of our individual magic so I apologise but I'm sure with your talents it will take no time at all. Now the last part is this, your time since you left has only been a week… really not going to react to that?" Aqua said, baffled at the lack of reaction.

Jaune simply shrugged nonchalantly.

"I've faced monstrosities that put the Grimm to shame you think a simple matter of time would faze me, plus I know next to nothing about realm travel this could just be the norm so I guessed." Clearing up the confusion.

"Well, ahem, this is slightly embarrassing but yes this is a regular side effect of crossing over, although the age regression will be a hassle I can imagine." He muttered the last part.

"I'm sorry what now?"

"Ah yes the age regression. Your overall body will regress to the age we initially had you transported, but before you ask, yes when you return your age should return to normal in Tamriel." Jaune's jaw slammed shut with an audible snap.

"Now it is your turn Dragonborn ask away to your hearts contents." Aqua said, finally done with the exposition.

"Do I need to worry about Daedric princes' influence over Remnant?" Having one of those assholes causing mayhem on Remnant as it is now would most definitely destroy Remnant.

"No. A being like a prince has no authority & enough to ever crossover, unless purposely summoned by the bridging point which is you." Pointing at the Dragonborn. Who gave a sigh of relief knowing he wouldn't need to worry about that in the future.

"Hmm? Honestly I could ask you any sort of question, the source of Grimm, why magic only exists in six people and ask how Doctor Oobleck moves so fast like seriously is the man on drugs or simple coffee by the Nine I want to know." Jaune said. "Although I'd prefer to rather ask this, we may have our grievances, you three…" He pointed at each of them. "Haunt my dreams. The ghost pains of being run through by each of you sends me to the bottle every time." He shivered at the memory, then stopped his eyes turning into slits. "I beg of you to protect my family as if they are your own, that includes my closest friends, that's all I ask."

"Nothing to fear, young dovahkiin, my gift to you was to protect your family so you wouldn't lose sleep over being worlds apart." Crimson spoke departing his gift of reassurance to the Dragonborn.

"Thank you." Jaune thanked his crimson killer.

"Well, well it's time Jauney let's have you start this journey, after you." Dark appeared as a similar portal from before was facing Jaune. Taking a deep breath he steps forth into a world he hasn't been to in over 14 years.

New location: Remnant, Continent of Anima

Currently 10:43…

Exiting the portal taking a gasp for air as the nauseous feeling left Jaune's gut.

"Ah Remnant home sweet home, right Jaune, Jaune? You alright there?" Dark asked in some capacity of concern after walking out of the portal.

Casting a low tier healing spell, Jaune stopped slouching over and was now feeling incredibly better.

"Damn portals" Jaune muttered under his breath. "So where exactly are we, definitely not close to Vale."

"Indeed Jaune," Came the voice of Aqua walking through the portal following closely behind Crimson. "Currently you are on the continent of Anima, it's a Wednesday, roughly almost being eleven in the morning and heavy gusts possible in the evening." He stated.

"So why Anima, I get the feeling this was more than intentional?" He threw the 1 million gold question out there.

"Correct Jauney this is actually part of my gift, gentlemen if you'd kindly follow me." Dark said to the three. After walking for a few minutes Jaune spoke up.

"This gift of Darks, should I be concerned? Not to judge the guy on the first impression he seems… unhinged I guess." Trying not to thoroughly upset the man.

"Dark is actually the most caring out of the Pages being the King of the Island of Flight, known for its nature to appear like the heavens have come to rescue even the simplest of souls." Crimson started with a fond smile for his brother's antics. "We Pages on rare occasions ever meet with other Kings of our kind not because we argue but rather we tend to keep to ourselves."

"Once Dark spoke of the gift in which he intended to give you, normally we would be skeptical of his unique variety of humility." Aqua said, continuing in place of his muscular brother. "However this gift would be perfect for a man of your morales and kind natured heart." Jaune at that statement didn't know to feel proud or slightly insulted but just decided to play it off.

"Here we are!" Dark called from ahead of the small group. Reaching the swordsman clad in black Jaune saw a heavily warded spectral dome covering what seemed to be a bandit encampment. "Jaune Arc welcome to thee Branwen bandit tribe, the most heartless, despicable, sons of bitches on Remnant!" Dark cheerfully stated.

"So your gift is taking me to a bandit camp. Why?" The dragonborn arching his eyebrow in curiosity only.

"This Jauney is your gift for over a week. I gathered every bandit in Remnant and jammed them all into that one camp. As you've already become aware of, that dome is an unbreakable prison spell casted to not allow anyone to enter or leave, except you." Dark pointed to Jaune.

"Still waiting for the why to come along." Jaune trailed off wanting Dark to continue.

"Oh well that's easy, Jauney you destroyed every bandit, criminal, organisation that posed a threat in Skyrim and more. So thinking through how you might be feeling emotionally after leaving I figured instead of heading straight for the bottom of glass to embrace the anger you feel and let it explode in a righteous cause for peace of mind for those that have suffered due to the bitches and bastard over there." Dark gestured to the encampment behind them.

"However I'm not doing this out of some sick pleasure of watching, but rather this is a gift to you simply cast a paralysis spell then find a scroll on one of the bandits and contact a Kingdom to arrest them… although you and I both know those who still suffer and have will not get what they are owed." Dark spoke as seriously as possible from his regular demeanor.

"You know what Dark, I accept this gesture of yours in honesty I feel it would be most wise to get some exercise in and rid some monsters from Remnant." Jaune momentarily stopped talking to put on his Daedric helmet, once on the eye sockets of the armour glowed a dark blue slightly too menacing for most people. "Sorry Dawnbreaker looks like I'll need to use a different dance partner." Returning the blade to the oblivion sack Jaune then drew forth-

"The Bloodskal blade, a fine greatsword to use if my input isn't annoying." Crimson spoke fascinated by the weapon.

"Think nothing of it," Came the changed demonic voice of Jaune Arc. Thanks to his incredible use of enchantments to use a fear effect on his mask to intimidate alongside a few other unique ones. "Weird but obvious question: do I have to walk all the way there?"

"Hah! No way, I'm a Page walking isn't my thing!" With a click of Dark's fingers they instantly appeared at the dome holding inside all of Remnants biggest scum all in one place a meal fit for the Dragonborn.

"Now Jaune this is where we part ways I'm afraid. We will be returning to Remnant 10 years from now, do not fear where to find us, we'll always find you." Aqua said. "Once again good day Jaune Arc." When he finished speaking a portal again showed up behind the blue themed Page as he walked inward.

Crimson simply gave a respective nod before following behind his brother.

"Here you are Jauney," A playing card of the 2 of hearts was tossed to the dragonborn who swiftly caught it. "That's for getting rid of the barrier once you've finished, I wholeheartedly recommend keeping a few alive, anyway we'll be seeing you Jaune! … Now I gotta find a certain Jaune for a little outing." Dark said, muttering the last part in which Jaune did not hear.

Looking away from the closing portal Jaune set his sights on the large wooden gate, with a quick swish of a horizontal slash, obliterating the gate with a red slash of energy. Startled screams were heard as a large dust cloud was created from the epic entrance.

Hefting the blade casually over his right shoulder, Jaune stepped forth, For the Dragonborn had Come!
