Her routine

Crosseyed-Cupcake asked for a oneshot of Emma and Snow having to share a room and a bed. Snow knows everything Emma needs (like a nightlight because she doesn't like the dark and her baby blanket). Emma gets really embarrassed because she's an adult and is ashamed to be so childish.

"Tell me again how long before we can go back home?" Emma grumbled.

"The fumigators said we have to leave it a week before the loft is fit for us to go back into." Snow said, fighting to remain patient. She had told Emma that what felt like a thousand times. There weren't many alternative accommodation options in town for the family to stay in outside of Granny's, and both Snow and Charming knew Neal wouldn't cope being cooped up in the small rooms the bed and breakfast had to offer for a week. So Charming thought camping in the woods might be the way to go for Neal. Emma refused to stay in a tent for a week with no access to indoor plumbing, so she was opting for Granny's. Snow didn't want to leave her by herself, so she offered to stay with her.

Emma couldn't believe she'd been stupid enough to agree to share a room with her mom. She agreed it cut down on costs, but it meant she would have to go without her usual night time routine. Or so she thought.

"The bed has a reading lamp above it. I don't mind you keeping that on all night like you do your lamp at home. Your blanket is in my rucksack, you forgot it on our way here. You can't sleep without it." Snow told her. Emma looked across at her mom, shocked. How had her mom known all that? Emma began to blush. Snow smiled.

"It's no big deal Em. Of course I know your little routine. I see you do it every night when I'm popping up and down to check on Neal. It doesn't bother me."

"It bothers me that you know though." Emma sighed. "I shouldn't need all this. I'm too old for it all. That's why I keep it so private. That's why I left the blanket at home." Snow smiled sweetly.

"You're never too old to need something to comfort you. It's ok to not like the dark. It's ok to need your blanket. Don't let anybody tell you it's not. Otherwise they'll have me to deal with." Snow joked. Emma gave a small smile in return. She stretched over and plucked her blanket from her mom's bag. She tucked it under the covers with her. Snow smiled, satisfied Emma would sleep through the night now.
