Destroying all hope- part 3

A guest asked for a oneshot of a sequel to Ch2978 "Destroying all hope" where Emma tries her hardest to convince her parents to leave, but they refuse.

It turned out, even magical time-stopping islands have seasons. Not so much spring, summer, autumn and winter, more unbearably hot and humid and unbearably hot and pouring down with rain. As you can imagine, torrential rain is not easy to deal with when living in the most protective of housing, never mind a makeshift treehouse with no electricity.

The rain just kept coming and coming for days. The family still had to go out to both hunt and source firewood. As most of the wood was soaked through, this was no easy task. Nor was finding food to eat. All they weren't short of was drinking water.

The hungrier Emma got, the more pain and anguish she felt for her parents. For she knew they must be equally as hungry. What frustrated her the most was knowing that they needn't be so hungry. They could be safe, warm and fed with the rest of their family in Storybrooke. The only thing keeping them in Neverland was her. As Emma futilely tried to start a fire with damp wood, her patience snapped.

"This is stupid!" She yelled, shoving the wood against the wall of their tiny new home.

"It's alright. I cooked extra yesterday when we eventually got it going in case this happened." Charming told her, laying a comforting hand on Emma's back. Emma pulled away ferociously.

"No, not the damn fire, this!" Emma shouted. Snow and Charming stared at her silently, not sure what she meant.

"Please, you can still go home. Go! Neal needs you. I don't. I'll be fine here on my own. What exactly can Pan do to me once he's trapped me here alone for all eternity? Please, I'm begging you, go!" Emma cried out before bursting into tears. Snow and Charming understood. They knew Emma felt (unnecessarily) guilty over the whole situation. She was exhausted and she was starving, they all were. Charming pulled Emma over to him and just let her cry it out. Snow joined them, taking hold of Emma's hand.

"We're not going anywhere, not without you." Charming promised his daughter. "We haven't give up faith that one day we'll find a way to get you off this island. Yes, we miss Neal and Henry, but we know they're being raised in safe hands until we find out way back to them." Charming added. Emma sniffled against his shoulder, still feeling hopeless herself.

"Emma, at some point you have to stop punishing yourself. None of this is your fault. We chose to stay with you, and we don't regret that one bit. We're not leaving you, Emma. We made that mistake once and we promised we would never lose you again." Snow pointed out.

"How can I forgive myself? No matter what you say, I'm the reason you're still here. I'm the reason Neal is growing up just like I did." Emma whimpered. Charming shook his head.

"No Emma. Not like you did. We got to choose who will raise Neal until we find a way to get you home. He'll not be moving around every few months. He'll always be with people who love him, and will tell him how much his parents and his big sister love him too. This isn't permanent, Emma. You need to remember that." But Emma didn't respond, for it felt pretty permanent to her.
