A difficult choice- part 4

GrantL1991 asked for a oneshot of a fourth instalment following on from Ch2633 "A difficult choice- part 3" where Emma is happy and bonding well with her parents, sharing interactions with both of them.

Emma had concocted so many scenarios as to who her parents could be. Some good, some not so good. Were they forbidden lovers, worried about the consequences? Or were they stupid teenagers with bad sex ed classes. Were they being forced to flee the country and didn't want to put a baby through the trauma? Or were they just some couple who didn't want a baby. Emma just didn't know. One scenario she certainly hadn't imagined was her parents being royalty from another realm. No, that was just a bit much for her.

To begin with, Emma had been quite withdrawn. She wanted a chance to find her feet. She was still getting used to a land without any modern technology, as well as one where her parents were now the same age as her. Given that time and space though, Emma was eventually ready to form relationships with both her mom and dad. She found she had things in common with both of them.

She loved literature liked her mother. Snow had been very amused to find out her name was well known in Emma's world, although the story differed from her actual plight. In return, Snow was able to share many new tales with Emma from the land of her birth. Something Snow greatly cherished doing. It was one small activity she could reclaim doing with her daughter after missing several years' worth of bonding activities.

Emma also enjoyed the new physical challenges this world presented. Emma was no stranger to a fight growing up. Sometimes violence was the only way to keep yourself safe the way she grew up. As she got older and became a bail bondsperson, she became accustomed to tackling strangers and even handling a gun. A sword, however, was a new skill to learn. One Charming was more than happy to help his daughter master. They spent many hours together, with Charming showing Emma the ropes. He was so proud of how quickly she was picking it up. She would be able to join his knights in no time. Not that Charming would allow her to join any real battles, not if he could help it.

This whole situation was still foreign to all of them really. Literature and sword fighting could only repair so much of the damage. It was, however, a good start. It meant there was hope for all of them.
