No right:

[Background info: This is based on the pilot episode of Chicago Fire. Andy Darden has died. Casey and Severide have been fighting over his death, with Severide heavily blaming Casey (and Casey blaming himself but not letting it show). My story picks up near the end of the episode, and starts with the call to the structure fire.]

'…. Battalion 25, Truck 81, Squad 3, Engine 51, Ambulance 61, structure fire…..'

Squad 3 ran towards their rig, gearing up as quickly as they could. As they jumped into the rig and Tony started the engine up, Herrmann's voice came over the radio. Truck 81 had already arrived on scene, having been closer to the fire going straight from watching Boden's 'Battle of the Badges' boxing match,

'Wow, this is bad, bad, bad…'

Severide and Tony glanced at each other as Squad pulled out of the firehouse, with their lights on and sirens blaring.

* Truck 81 arrived on scene, and everyone jumped out and stared at the fire in front of them. Herrmann was the first to speak as everyone rushed around getting their oxygen tanks on and masks ready as they prepared to enter the building.

'Wow, this is bad, bad, bad…'

Casey started giving out orders,

'Herrmann, Otis, Vargas… you're with me. Mouch, raise the ariel. Cruz and Mills, you vent the roof. Let's go!'

Everyone ran off to complete the task their Lieutenant had given them, as Casey, Herrmann, Otis, and Vargas put their masks on and entered the building.

'Herrmann stick with me, we'll search the fourth floor. Otis, Vargas… start on the ground floor, and work your way up.'

* Chief Boden got out of his truck and started to put his turnout coat on over his boxing gear, having driven straight from his boxing match.

'Battalion 25, on scene.'

Boden surveyed the scene as he finished doing up his coat. He could see Mouch at the base of Truck 81 and so walked over to get an update on the situation.

'Hey Chief. Casey, Herrmann, Vargas, and Otis have just finished their primary search and are heading down from four. Cruz and Mills have just vented the roof and are coming down now.'

Chief Boden looked at the building and noticed the smoke coming from the top of the building was changing colour.

'Na, they gotta go up, the smoke is turning black.'

Boden spoke into his radio to let Casey know.

'Casey, you gotta go up, smoke's turning black.'

* Casey and Herrmann were headed down from the fourth floor when Chief Boden's call came over the radio.

'Casey, you gotta go up, smoke's turning black'.

Casey glanced over at Herrmann and they began to move towards the staircase that led up to the roof, where Otis and Vargas were waiting for them.

'Up, go up, we've gotta go up.'

Suddenly there was a groaning noise and the floor directly under Casey and Herrmann's feet began to shake and suddenly gave way beneath them. Otis and Vargas watched in horror as their Lieutenant and Herrmann fell out of sight. It was a couple of seconds until they heard the thumps of two bodies hitting the floor. Otis looked into the hole that had been made in the floor, and through the smoke he could just make out the still forms of Casey and Herrmann. Herrmann seemed to have landed on his front but Casey was on his back and his mask had fallen off in the fall.

'CASEY! HERRMANN!'

A few more seconds later and the shrill sound of two pass alarms going off could be heard over the roaring of the flames.

'MAYDAY! MAYDAY! FIREFIGHTERS DOWN!'
