Quality time

Another one of my own. This wasn't on my list, but I figured this will probably be the last holiday where I'm writing OCF so I wanted to make something out of it :). Based loosely on Josh's insta post earlier today.

"GOOOOOOOAL!" Came the commentator's voice. The entire diner erupted in cheers as Mexican flags were waved in merriment. There were a few Germany supporters who groaned, but they were vastly outnumbered. Three Mexico supporters in attendance were Charming, Emma and Neal. One interest shared by father and daughter was football, so they were both excited for the first world cup they could spend together. Especially to spend Father's Day sharing their hobby not just with each other, but with Neal too. The two year old waved his Mexico flag happily, just joining in with how excited his dad and sister seemed to be.

When the match was over and all were in high spirits after Mexico's victory, Emma insisted on being the one to pay for everyone's lunch.

"I should really be treating you." Charming grumbled playfully.

"It's Father's Day. The clue's in the name. I get to spoil you. No arguments." Emma warned him. Charming sighed, but didn't put up more of a fuss. Resistance was futile with his daughter. "It's not just about it being Father's Day, you know." Emma added quietly. "I don't get a lot of opportunities to spend proper time with you and thank you for all you do for me and Neal. I think some spoiling is long overdue." Emma said with a shy smile. Charming reached across the booth and took her hand in his and gave it a light squeeze.

"Hey, you don't need to thank me. I'm just doing my job as your dad." Charming told her. "You're right about us spending time together though. We shouldn't just leave it till the special occasions. Maybe we could make it a regular thing? With just the two of us?" Charming offered. His heart skipped a beat at the way Emma's eyes lit up at that suggestions.

"Yeah, I think I'd like that a lot."
