Emma in the middle- part 17

LyssLovesSnowing33 asked for a oneshot of a 17th instalment to the "Emma in the middle" series (last chapter being 2680) where…read and see.

Emma never understood why whenever her girls came back from visiting their grandparents, Zara always came back that little bit more hyper than her sisters. Slowly, Emma began to fit the pieces together. It was more than being a little bit more hyper. If they came back with toys, Zara's was always that little bit bigger. She always got clothes that were just a little bit more glittery. Whatever it was, it was never anything drastic. Never so much that the others would notice, not when they had their own goodies to enjoy, but Emma always noticed. She began to work it out, and decided it was time to discuss it with her parents.

When Snow and Charming heard that Emma wanted to have a chat with them when she picked up her girls, they were worried. Was she mad again? Was she going to try and stop them seeing the girls? All they could do was anxiously wait until Emma arrived.

Snow and Charming tried to act calmly when Emma came to the throne room alone, even though their hearts were pounding. Emma immediately saw their nerves.

'Relax guys." She told them. "It's nothing bad. I just didn't want the girls around when I talked to you about this." Emma explained. The parents' nerves were replaced with curiosity. Emma smiled.

"I know what you've been doing with Zara." Emma told them. Snow and Charming looked puzzled.

"What?" Charming asked. Emma rolled her eyes playfully.

"Come on guys. Don't act up. I know." Emma insisted. "You've been spoiling her just that tiny bit more than her sisters. All because she's in the middle." Emma said. She could see from her parents now bashful expression that she had caught them out. Emma walked over and pulled them both into a hug. Oh how much had changed over the years. She was so proud of them.

"Thanks guys." Emma said sincerely. She pulled back. "Maybe hold back now though? I don't want Zara becoming spoiled. She is just as loved as her sisters, and she's never doubted it. You don't need to do this anymore." Emma told them. Snow and Charming smiled.

"We just wanted to make sure we got things right. Maybe we overdid things a little." Snow admitted. "We'll stop, as long as all the girls are happy." Emma kissed both of her parents. Her girls were all happy. As was Emma and her own siblings and their parents. They were now truly one big happy family.
