[So I'm sorry I haven't updated this story for a little while. I've been really busy with my uni work. Also sorry this chapter is so short. I'm working on the next chapter which will be a big one!]

Casey walked into the living room and flumped down onto the couch. It had been a month since he had injured himself but he was still finding it hard to move around without getting breathless. He glanced over to the kitchen, and saw Shay bending forward to look into the fridge. After having spent the first few weeks after his injury living with Shay and Severide he realised that he had enjoyed the time he was spending with them, and so when they had approached him asking whether he wanted to move in to their place he had happily agreed. Shay turned around and smiled at Casey, before yelling in the direction of Severide's room.

'Kelly, did you eat my yogurt?'

Casey chuckled, as Shay slammed to fridge door closed and walked over to the coffee machine. Severide slowly made his way out of his room, doing up his squad jacket as he walked over to Shay. He glanced at Casey and grinned before answering.

'What makes you so sure it was me. It could have been Casey.'

Casey raised his eyebrows at Shay, who snorted as she poured herself a cup of coffee.

'Okay then. Are you telling me that if I go into your room there won't be an empty strawberry yogurt container in your trash? And I know it wasn't Casey, since he doesn't like the Strawberry yogurts that I buy.'

Severide grinned at Shay, who rolled her eyes as she went back into her room to grab her jacket. They were both on shift today, and had to leave soon if they wanted to be on time. Severide looked over at Casey, who had flicked on the TV and was scrolling through the channels.

'You got your doctor's appointment today right?'

Casey nodded slowly, still focussing on the TV in front of him. Severide paused for a minute. Something wasn't quite right.

'How's that going then? The doc give you any information on when you could get back to work?'

Casey sighed, staring at the ground a couple of seconds before answering.

'I dunno. I feel like I'm not making any progress. And the docs won't give me an answer whenever I ask when I'll be cleared for duty.'

Severide smiled sympathetically, resting his hand on his friend's shoulder and squeezing reassuringly.

'Ah, you just gotta be patient. It's gonna take time. You'll be back before you know it. Your truck guys miss you, although I don't think they are looking forward to the drills you'll no doubt put them through when you get back!'

Casey gave Severide a small smile and nodded. Shay walked back into the room, carrying her bag and jacket in one hand. She walked over to Casey and gave him a brief hug, before heading towards the door.

'Good luck at your doctor's appointment today Casey. We'll see you tomorrow. Try to stay out of trouble!'

Casey laughed as he watched his two friends walk out of the door, Severide elbowing Shay as she bought up the stolen yogurt once more, explaining how he had better replace it.
