Let's celebrate

beth1980 asked for a oneshot of the Charmings being the only ones in the diner at the end of season 6. Emma thanks Granny for her blanket, explaining how important it's been for her during her life. Snow mentions the time she found it during the curse.

They were finally done. No more villains. No more people threatening to separate them. No more disasters. This was the Charming family's happy ending. Where else could they celebrate that but Granny's? Once the Black Fairy was finally defeated for good, the family headed straight for Granny's for a celebratory dinner. The family's friends and allies politely declined their invitations to join them. They knew the family needed some space. Heck, each little family needed some space of their own.

Granny was more than happy to house the Charmings for such a special occasion. She was practically family herself, so of course Snow and Charming insisted she join them. Granny knew them all so well she was able to cook up everyone's favourites for a stupendous three course meal.

Emma was particularly glad Granny was there. She had something she'd been meaning to say to her for a while.

"You know, you're part of the reason I never felt completely alone as a child, Granny." Emma said.

"How's that?" Granny responded. Emma smiled, fidgeting nervously.

"You made my blanket." Emma told her quietly. Granny didn't know how to respond to that. She was too touched. Emma could see the emotion in her face and knew she'd done the right thing by telling her.

"That blanket sure is a special one." Snow added, breaking the silence. "Almost like it has some magic of its own. Back when you first moved in with Mary Margaret, I found your blanket. I pulled it out to have a closer look because there was just something pulling me to it. As soon as I had it in my hands, I had this really strange mix of emotions. I felt like this blanket was so familiar to me. The smell…it was intoxicating. It was both beautiful and heart-breaking. It reminded me both of something I loved, and something I missed." Snow's head tilted to the side as she looked at her daughter. "I guess we know why now." Charming kissed the side of Snow's head, knowing the blanket would have had to the same impact on him. Emma smiled across at her parents. Meanwhile, Henry wondered whether or not the blanket might have been strong enough to break the curse had the circumstances been right. It didn't really matter in the end. What mattered was that the curse had been broken and they were all together, and nobody could separate them again.
