[This is the final chapter! I had a lot of fun writing this, and I have a couple other ideas that I might try writing. Hope you enjoy.]

Severide was already sat at the squad table when truck got back. He watched as they all got out of the rig, took off their turnout gear and made their way into the common room. He waited for a bit, before following them and sitting down at the table. Shay walked in and sat opposite him. She looked around the room before frowning slightly at Severide.

'So, where's trouble got to?'

Severide shook his head, and looked over at Mouch who shrugged back. Shay sighed at them and stood up.

'You did make sure he was in the truck before you left the scene, right!'

Otis snorted, and Cruz nodded.

'Yes, he was in the truck. He said something about paperwork and went towards the bunkroom. Oh, he also said to get lunch ready candidate, since we didn't eat before we left earlier.'

Mills was sat at the head of the table, and shook his head at the others.

'He did not say that; I was right here!'

Shay glanced at Herrmann, who looked slightly concerned and jolted his head in the direction of the bunkroom. Shay nodded, grabbed Severide and they both made their way out of the common room and towards Casey's office. The blinds were drawn, causing Shay to frown at Severide as she knocked on the door.

'Casey…'

There was no reply, so instead of knocking again, Shay tried the door and was surprised when it opened.

'Casey, we're coming in.'

Severide followed Shay in and they stood by the door for a second, looking at Casey who was sat on the edge of the bed staring into space. They were quiet for a minute, as they sat themselves down either side of him. Severide cleared his throat and looked at over at Casey.

'So… hell of a first call back.'

Casey nodded, still slightly unfocused. Shay placed a hand on his shoulder, and Casey snapped out of the trance like state he seemed to have been in. He looked over at Shay and then turned to face Severide, smiling slightly.

'Yeah, sorry. Guess it's just gonna take a while to get used to being back on the job properly.'

Shay snorted and Severide shook his head grinning.

'Well that was not exactly a normal call. Anyone would be freaking out after being held at gunpoint by a crazy guy in a warehouse that is on fire without a mask on. I think you handled it pretty well.'

Casey nodded, and sighed as he stood up. Shay gave him a quick hug before going to walk out of the door. She stopped just outside, and turned back around grinning as Herrmann walked up to the office.

'Casey, Otis and Cruz are driving me insane arguing with Mills, who is insisting that since you didn't tell him to he doesn't have to make lunch again.'

Shay shouted after Casey as he shook his head and walked out of his office.

'Get your men under control Casey!'

Casey turned around and grinned at her, making a face before walking into the kitchen. Severide looked at Shay, and they both tried to hold back their laughter as they heard Casey having a go at his team.

'For Gods sakes guys, you're not kids. Otis, Cruz, I think the toilets need a good clean.'

'But that's the candidates job!'

'Yeah well as you very kindly pointed out Mills should be making lunch right now, so you two knuckleheads can go clean the toilets.'

Severide walked into the kitchen to see Otis and Cruz grumbling as they walked towards the toilets, and Casey getting himself a coffee. He slapped him on the back on his way past, relieved that things finally seemed to be getting back to normal.
