"You can't be serious" Deus sighed.

"I can too be serious!" Murmur retorted. "At any rate, you're avoiding the subject at hand."

Deus shook his head. "No, absolutely not! We are not reviving the Future Diaries. You saw what happened last time-"

"Oh, c'mon, you're still hung up over that?" Murmur crossed her arms. "Look, yeah, maybe an alternate version of me got way carried away, and maybe it disrupted the space time continuum and overall created several different dimensions all ruled by familiars until the end of time but-"

Deus held up his hand. "No 'buts' about it. I only entertained that idea out of necessity the first time and look what happened!" He swept his hand for effect, nearly knocking Murmur over.

"Woah, careful there, big guy!" She steadied herself and laid out her hands, almost pleading. "Look, yes, that was a huge mistake the first time and it totally took forever to fix, but what are the chances we'll run into someone like Yuno Gasai again?" Her eyes were almost shimmering as she begged.

Deus groaned. "What could possibly possess you to even think about that disgrace again, after all this time?" He wasn't even considering agreeing to whatever Murmur was planning, but he was curious as to her motives.

Murmur fell onto her back dramatically. "It's boooooring up here! Humans are the same as always; war, famine, scandals, and Tik Tok. You can't deny that nothing interesting has happened for a while now." She glanced boredly at the god of the universe, not expecting much.

Deus ex Machina hesitated. "Well, yes, but we were aware of that when-"

Murmur didn't let him get any further. "Aha! You're bored too! C'mon, let's do this! I promise I won't favor any of the subjects this time, as long as you don't go behind my back like you did with a certain bombshell..." She pouted slightly.

Deus blinked. "First, don't ever make a pun like that again. Secondly, I deemed it necessary because you were literally out of control! And thirdly..." He was quiet for what felt like hours before answering. "...fine. But, we need to lay down some ground rules."

Murmur jumped up happily, half shocked and half ecstatic. "Hit me with em, boss!"

Ex Machina counted on his fingers. "We've already said no favorites, so that means we'll have to try and make this somewhat random. A good diverse playing field-"

"Wait, if the Diary holders are all over the place, how will any of them even meet up with each other? We need somewhere they can all meet up..." Murmur plopped down and hummed in deep thought. She snapped her fingers momentarily. "Oh, I know! We'll send them all on vacation! We'll give em tickets, send em to some nondescript city, make it a neutral territory. It'll be nice to see em fight over even circumstances."

Deus nodded. "Very well. That brings me to my next point. No children, no elderly, no mentally incompetent, etc. We want people who can actually think for themselves. We can make exceptions as we see fit, but I don't wanna see another traumatized toddler."

Murmur shrugged. "Hey, I actually enjoyed that kid. He was clever and almost killed two of em. But fiiiiine. We can still have crazy people, right? Those are fuuuuun!" She beamed.

The supreme being waved her off. "Fine, fine, whatever. Also, we need to consider what the prize actually is for winning. I'm not dying, after all, and I have no intention of giving up my power."

Murmur bit her lip. "Okay, sourpuss, you wanna make this hard, don't ya." She glanced away and tapped her foot until an idea struck her. "Oh, what if we just give them whatever they desire? Humans are greedy, after all. I'm sure giving them whatever they wish will motivate them! Of course, with our luck, we'll get some lunatic who wants world domination, but we'll settle that when we get there!" Murmur smiled once again, looking almost creepily optimistic.

Deus grumbled. "It'll hopefully not come to that. Regardless, my last point; no duplicate Diaries. There's no point if we give anyone the same diaries as last time or each other similar ones. We can still have one that are connected, but they need to be specific to that person's personality. That's what made them so unique last time."

Murmur puffed. "Are you gonna say something that not really obvious or can we start looking for contenders already?"

Deus glared. "Keep in mind I'm still the god of the universe and will not tolerate being addressed like-"

"Yeah, yeah, OK Boomer. Let's just get searching for our contestants already!"

Hello, this is Drew, the author of this story. So, this being an SYOC, I need to lay down some guidelines (I hates them too, but I promise it's for the best):

1. This is NOT first come, first served. I've learned from my mistakes and know that waiting for you guys to give me your very best is always the wisest course of action. However, I am more likely to accept if your submit early, but that's NOT a given!

2. I'm not accepting through reviews. That's how stories like this get shut down. If you're interested or wanna send me an OC, please PM me with the title "Future Diary: Resurrection-(OC Name)-(Future Diary Name)".

3. I'm only accepting one submission from everyone who applies. Fair is fair. Everyone won't get in, and I'm sorry for that, but we all know that when we apply to these. But, don't worry, even if you don't get in, that DOESN'T mean your OC won't be involved in some way. Not every character is a diary holder, after all. ;)

4. The deadline I've set for this is July 10th. That gives you FIVE MONTHS to think these through. Don't rush through this, really think it out. A rushed OC is rarely good OC. However, again, if you wanna send early, that's fine by me. I just want to give everyone a chance to do their very best!

5. I'm going to try and update this ONCE A MONTH to let you guys know how this is going, along with give tips for what kind of OCs I need and maaaaaaaybe tell you if I have any really good submissions that I'm accepting. We'll have to see what I get for me to know. I might even drop some world building or whatever if I'm feeling up to it. Regardless, look forward to those updates!

6. If you have any questions, comments, concerns, etc, feel free to shoot me a PM! I'm always happy to help out! This is all about you guys and your OCs, I'm just an underpaid tool who's bringing them to life. :D
