Afraid
A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma having a panic attack and her dad helping her through it.
There's only so much one person can take. What with everything that had been going on recently, it was understandable that Emma was at capacity. So it was equally understandable that the smallest thing left her ready to implode. Like paperwork still needing to be done on time at the station. Emma's head was swimming. She couldn't think in coherent sentences. Everything was going fuzzy. Was it hot in here? Emma didn't even realise that her breathing had become shallow. Didn't realise that her dad noticed that something was wrong. Charming knew exactly what was happening. It wasn't the first time either he or Snow had seen Emma having a panic attack. He got up from his own desk straight away and came over to his daughter. He bent down so he could see right into her eyes, even if she couldn't yet focus on him.
"Ok Em, I need you to breathe with me." He said, firmly taking both of her hands. "In and out, nice and slow." Charming mimicked the breathing he wanted Emma to do until she was doing it consistently. His poor baby girl was still shaking. He didn't say anything to her, he knew she'd be too tired from the loss of adrenalin to talk about what brought that on. He wasn't entirely sure even if he did ask her Emma would know at this point. Instead, he just pulled Emma into his arms and held her tightly, waiting for the fear to wash away.
