Happy to be home
A guest asked for a oneshot of a Emma going on a holiday out of the country. Snowing pick her up at the airport. Emma jumps into her father's arms.
Emma hadn't been sure about this. What if she and Henry couldn't get back over into Storybrooke when she came home? What if her parents forgot who they were when they crossed the town line after insisting they come and pick her up themselves? But Emma couldn't deny that her family had been right, this had been the vacation she desperately needed. She'd forgotten she'd even entered it when she and Henry were living in New York. Two weeks in the Bahamas was sheer bliss. A reassuring text after they'd landed that her parents were at the airport with little Neal and everyone still had their memories intact completed the experience. She was glad her parents had convinced her to go. She would feel even better when she got to see them again. After being apart for nearly three decades, it was weird how attached Emma had become to her little family. They'd been separated before, and they'd be damned before it happened ever again. She was so excited to be reunited with them, and she knew Henry was too.
After quickly getting their luggage and heading back through security, they wasted no time in searching for their family. Snow and Charming were equally excited to see Emma and Henry again. They'd missed them just as much.
"Oh, there they are!" Snow called, being the first to spot them. She waved manically, wanting to catch their attention. Henry was the first to spot it. He tapped Emma on the shoulder and pointed towards Snow, David and Neal. Emma's face broke out in a massive grin. Her childhood had left scars. Even though she knew it wouldn't happen, there was a small part of her that was worried they wouldn't show. They had Neal now, what would it matter if Emma and Henry weren't around? Emma knew it was stupid thinking that, but she couldn't help it. Just like she couldn't help being elated they were there. She knew what she was going to do. Since her mother was holding the baby, that left her dad to take the brunt of Emma's excited reaction. Emma left Henry with their luggage and ran full speed at her father. Charming held his arms open, thinking Emma was coming in for a hug (which was surprising enough). He wasn't at all expecting Emma to jump up and properly launch herself into his arms.
"Well hey there kiddo." He greeted her, twirling round with her. "Excited to be home?"
"You bet." Emma answered, getting down. She turned to her mom and baby brother.
"I feel like he's grown so much since we've been gone." Emma commented. She gave her little brother a kiss before wrapping her mom in a careful hug. Henry came staggering over with their luggage. Charming chuckled, giving his grandson a hug before helping him out.
"Have a good time bud?" He asked Henry.
"Yeah, it was cool being out of town for a while. Mom enjoyed herself too, but I think she's maybe happy to see you guys." Henry commented. Charming laughed, clapping him on the back.
"Well, we're happy to see you both too."
