Parents in the night

julia23602829 asked for a oneshot of Snowing waking up from the first curse before everyone else. Knowing Emma is their daughter, they struggle to keep the secret because they just want to parent her.

That was something nobody had counted on. That when David woke from his coma, he was woke as his true self. So when he kissed Snow he woke her too, but just each other. So together, they were trapped in the knowledge that Emma was their daughter. The killer was that, although David was able to bluff his way through saying he remembered things being bad between them and this was the best way for them to have a clean break. Unfortunately, in order to maintain the status quo with Regina both of them had to maintain a seemingly platonic relationship. So in order to be able to be together properly, Charming was having to sneak into Snow's apartment after Emma was asleep. That was the other thing killing them both; Emma. They spent a lot of their time at nights (amongst other things) talking about her and hoping she would break the curse soon.

"It's so hard seeing her every day and having to just be her friend. I don't want to be her friend, David, I want to be her mother." Snow sighed, leaning against Charming's chest.

"I know, Snow. Believe me, I know. I hate the way she just stares through me whenever she does see me around during the day. I hate worrying when I'm here at night that she'll come down and see us together. We're her parents, we love each other. This whole situation is awful. Snow gave him a sad smile.

"Unfortunately I think that's part of the curse. I don't think they're meant to be happy things." Snow reminded him, pressing her hands against his chest. Charming frowned.

"I guess we just have to hope our little girl breaks it soon then." He commented, knowing it would make Snow smile. She always did when he called Emma their little girl. Snow pressed her lips together, looking up the stairs.

"She's sound asleep just now. She's a very heavy sleeper. Wanna see?" Snow asked. Charming didn't need to be asked twice. Together, they crept up the stairs and pushed Emma's door ajar. Their heads peaked through and saw Emma, starfished under her covers and snoring. They smiled.

"Sleep well, princess." Charming whispered from the door.

"We love you, so much." Snow added before they closed the door again and crept back down the stairs to do their own night time activities, hoping soon Charming wouldn't have to sneak out afterwards.
