Dinner with the Grey Family

"Mama, pass the potatoes!"

Christian rolled his eyes at the way Teddy was shouting across the table. Ana didn't seem to mind though. They currently had Christian's family as well and Ray, Ana's father sitting at their table. Ana was helping their two-year-old daughter Pheobe, and their thirteenth-month son Gabriel who was happily smashing his green over his face. His brother was also over with his brood of children, and his parents, as well as Ray, looked absolutely thrilled with all the children around the table. Elliott and Kate had four children and with their three, it was a nosy home.

"Theodore please do not yell over the table," Christian said as he handed over the bowl of potatoes. Teddy looked at him sheepishly, before nodding and returning to joking with his oldest cousin, Thomas. Once he had the potatoes, Teddy was about to use his hand when all of a sudden Ana's hand shot out like a snake and grabbed it, before raising a brow. Christian was amazed. She had their son in her lap, and their daughter she was steadily giving sweet peas too. As if Ray could read his mind, he chuckled.

"Amazing, isn't it? She is quite the woman," Ray said proudly. Christian laughed.

"Tell me about it."

He wouldn't tell Ray that he had his daughter screaming his name all night long before she rode him like a professional bull rider.

No, he'd keep that information to himself. Teddy looked sheepishly before apologizing. Ana only shook her head before handing him a serving spoon. When Gail came out with the plate of ribs, the men smiled, causing Ana, Grace, and Kate to roll their eyes.

"Finally, we can eat!" Elliott said.

Once the meat was handed out, Thomas started talking.

"Teddy, you said you heard noises last night?"

Nodding his head around a mouthful of beef, he answered.

"Yes. My parents were praying."

Ana and Christian looked confused, as did Kate and Elliott.

"Oh, mine do too!" Thomas answered brightly.

"My momma prays with me and my brothers before bedtime."

Teddy shook his head.

"My momma prays with me, but my momma and daddy pray alone. I hear them."

"You do?"

"Yes," Teddy said easily.

"Well I do it every night," Thomas said.

"Yeah, but yours don't pray like mine. Last night my momma was saying, 'Oh God, oh God, oh God, yes, yes, harder, harder,' before she called my daddy's name. But why would she ask God for something harder? Does that mean pray harder? Like on your knees?"

At this point, every adult at the table was silent.

Save for Elliott.

He looked as if he was about to die from trying not to laugh. Christian glared at his brother, and Ana looked completely mortified. Grace was blushing, and Carrick was smirking. Ray was glaring at Christian. None of the children seemed to notice the sudden tension. Phoebe was babbling happily while eating her dinner and Gabriel was gnawing on Ana's shirt. It wasn't until Ray cleared his throat that the adult began to resume eating. Elliott glanced at Kate who wouldn't make eye contact with the man, else she'd bust into laughter as well. Ana's face was completely flushed, as she stood.

"Um, does anyone want any dessert?" She asked her voice several octaves higher. Elliott held up his hand ready to answer when Christian pulled his knife and stabbed the table.

"If you say one word."

Swallowing, Elliott gave a slight nod. He saw his brother's eyes turn a crazy shade of red. He had no intention of tangling with him or his wolf.

He was wearing Fendi.

Meanwhile, Teddy kept munching away used to his daddy's outburst.

"The other night do you know what I heard my daddy say?"

"Oh, please tell us, Teddy," Elliot said gleefully.

"He was-"

"Alright! Enough of storytime. Teddy, Thomas. When you finish your dinner you can go play video games."

They glanced at one another before shouting, "Yay!"

Christian sighed before running a hand over his face. When he felt eyes on him he barked.

"What?!"
