All they talk about
A guest asked for a oneshot of Snowing going out for a romantic dinner, but all they can talk about is their kids. They realise things have changed, but they're happier than ever.
"This is nice, just the two of us." Snow commented, smiling across the table at her husband. He smiled back, taking both her hands in his. It wasn't very often they got to go out as a couple any more.
"You can have whatever you like. As long as you don't end up eating half of mine instead because you get food envy." David teased his wife. Snow rolled her eyes and picked up her menu.
"Well, it's certainly a wider selection than Granny's." She commented. "Emma would have a field day here. I'm pretty sure with her appetite she'd want one of everything."
"Probably. Maybe we can take her one night, for her birthday or something."
"Sounds like a good idea. Can you believe it's going to be Neal's birthday in a couple of months. How is he nearly one already?!"
"Time sure flies, doesn't it?" Charming agreed. "Then we've got Emma's thirtieth next year, but she won't let us talk about that." Snow laughed.
"She insists we call it her extra twenty-ninth. Weird woman." Snow agreed.
"Hi guys, are you ready to order your starters?" A waiter asked, coming over.
"Sorry, we'll just need a couple more minutes. We've got a little distracted talking…about our children. Who we came out to have a break from tonight." Snow suddenly realised. She and Charming made eye contact and began to laugh again.
"We've become those parents, haven't we?" He said. "The ones who manage to steer every conversation towards their kids."
"Well in our defence who could blame us? We have pretty cute kids."
"Agreed, but don't ever let Emma hear you call her cute. The groan would be able to be heard for miles.
"I won't, but it doesn't mean I don't think she's as cute as her baby brother…sorry! We're doing it again!" Snow said, placing her head in her hands.
"I guess our conversations have become a little more narrowed since becoming parents." He suggested.
"Possibly." Snow had to agree.
"But I don't think I would change that." Charming added. "Our lives have changed since we had Emma. Naturally, that means our relation has too. But it's changed for the better, it's evolved. Snow, I didn't think I could love you any more than I did on the day I married you, but then you made me a father. You gave me two beautiful children, and I see so much of their mother in them both, so of course I want to gush about them." Snow smiled warmly at him. He always knew just what to say.
"I love you so much." Snow said. "And, as much as I love my children, I really enjoyed the process in a whole different way." Snow said. Suddenly, Charming felt something running up and down his leg. This might have to be a short dinner. Maybe their best bet to have a romantic evening without bringing up their kids was to do an activity that involved limited conversation.
