"From here, we'll make our way to Goron city." Zelda said to herself cheerfully as she marched on the plain road jollily, the Sheikah Slate in her hands. Link followed her behind at a slow pace, trying his best to keep his face neutral and expressionless as always. Unapproachable. Cold. Emotionless.
The birds chirped excitedly in the distance, flapping their wings and soaring in the skies freely, leaving a trail of music behind them as they did so. Link kept his eyes on the princess's back as they walked, studying her voluminous blonde hair, his eyes loving and soft, betraying his stoic expression.
"Then, we'll need to make some adjustments on that Divine Beast so Daruk can manage it as easily as possible." Link wondered if he should respond to that at all; just who's this "we" she was talking about? Is it…Link and her? Link really, really wished the gentle wind could get rid of his blush at such a silly moment. No, she probably meant her and the other champions or something…maybe the other Gorons…
"He's figured out how to get it to move…" Zelda continued to mutter to herself, "However, it's apparent that we still have much more to learn." Link felt ridiculously awkward, unsure to whether listen closely to the princess's words or ignore it, since they somehow seem like personal information, the things she'll only say to herself when she's alone. Then again…isn't it good that she's ignoring me and treating me like I'm not here…? Link could barely finish that thought when that ache in his heart returned, unable to take the thought of Zelda ignoring him all the time. Goddesses above…what am I even thinking…this is supposed to be my duty!
"But to think, that Divine Beast was actually built by people…" That curiosity and awe Link adored so much was back in Zelda's voice as she marveled for the Sheikah's technology, "That means we should be able to understand how it works and how to use it for our advantage." Link silently praised the princess's intelligence; it's amazing the way she always thinks for the kingdom, and the way she always stays on the positive side, always hopeful to defeat Ganon, unlike him, constantly cowering behind his training and practices to forget just how scary it would be to fight the demon.
"The Divine Beasts…so much we don't know…" Zelda's voice was cheerful, despite the somewhat saddening truth of her statement, "But if we want to turn back the Calamity Ganon, they're our best hope."
Link suppressed a smile on his face at her. With her statements and cheers, he feels like he could defeat a thousand Ganons, just for her. He walked on, before suddenly realizing that the princess had slowed down, the Sheikah Slate now only in her left hand, her gesture disappointed and upset. A flood of concern made their way to Link's heart as he reluctantly stopped behind her, studying her worriedly. I…I didn't do anything, did I? Why is she upset? What's wrong…
"Tell me the truth…" Link felt his heart jerk as Zelda turned her head back a bit, those magnificent green eyes landing on him for a second or two, "how proficient are you right now, wielding that sword on your back?"
Link's heart screamed for his mouth to open and to say something, but his brain screamed back for him to not let a word break his lips. Unapproachable. Cold. Emotionless…Should he answer? Should he stay silent? What should he do, should he talk to the princess? The captain told him not to, but that's a question from her, the royal princess, and she was speaking directly to him, she was speaking to him, she wanted an answer out of him, should he answer, should he stay silent? Or should he just legitimately pull the Master Sword from its sheath and show the princess how great he is at wielding it? No, that's ridiculous, she's just glare at him with that weird look in her eyes and move on without another word…Then should he answer? Or stay silent? Goddesses, help me, why does this have to be so hard, should he answer, should he stay silent—
"Legend says that an ancient voice resonates inside it." Zelda interrupted his frantic and nervous thoughts with another sentence, her voice filled with woe. Link's heart was then immediately grabbed by an invisible being, filling it with another rush of concern. How he wanted to pull her into his arms and comfort her, tell her it's going to be okay, tell her that she was doing absolutely great, unlike him, being like a coward and freaking out over just one sentence from the princess…
"Can you hear it yet…Hero?" Zelda asked softly, staring at the ground to her left. Those eyes were shining with misery, and her hand around the Sheikah Slate tightened. Link tilted his head back, studying the Master Sword's sheath. Can he hear it yet…?

NEXT UPDATE: August/22
(Sorry I had to change the update date! I had a sudden yet important business today so I had to delay it. Sorry again, but please look forward to it!)

A/N: I'm sorry does the ending suck-
I wasn't sure what to write for the ending at first, since it ended so abruptly in the game...we'd never know if Link answered that question or not, and I didn't really want to break the rule of Link being silent all the time. So I'm sorry if it sucks-
This memory was another short one, so I'm sorry if it's not really long. The champion's special memories are always the longest, and Daruk's Mettle, which will be the next chapter, is one of the longest so don't worry ;)
Follow, favorite and review please! I appreciate it~
(I don't sound like a cringy YouTuber or something like that do I- alright I won't do it again I promise because I seriously think I do)
Thank you for reading!
I hope you enjoyed!
Have a great day!
