Melanoma

A guest asked for a oneshot of Emma finding out she has skin cancer, but it isn't serious. Everyone still freaks out, but she just needs her mole removed.

"Seriously guys, it's no big deal…"

"Beg to differ." Charming interrupted. "Is there a risk this could spread?"

"How long will you be in the hospital?"

"What's the recovery time like?"

Emma's head was reeling as her parents hit her with questions.

"Ok, one at a time." Emma tried to calm them. "I'll not even be knocked out for the operation, so I'll likely be in and out the same day. The wound will take one to three weeks to heal. I'll have to go back into hospital to have the stitches removed and then every few months just to check nothing has returned." Emma explained. She could see her parents were still worried. She took one of their hands each. "I'll be fine." She promised them. "It's really just a little mole."

"We're still glad we nagged you to get it checked." Snow pointed out. "I'll make sure to get a copy of your aftercare sheet from Whale so I know how to look after the site of the wound." Snow told her.

"And to be safe I think six weeks off from the station should do, even if it is one to three weeks for it to heal. That gives a little extra give time." Charming told her. Emma couldn't help but smile at their adorableness. She'd never had people who cared so much when she was sick before.

"If that will make you both relax, then fine." Emma told them. Snow and Charming blinked. Normally Emma would resist such parenting. She just shrugged. "Maybe some downtime will do me good." She said. Snow and David pulled Emma towards them, both just relieved they caught this early.
