Cycle of doom
julia23602829 asked for a oneshot of Emma asking August to give her motorcycling lessons and her parents go frantic when they see one of the classes and thing it's too dangerous.
Snow gasped as Emma took what she deemed to be a particularly tight turn. She turned and buried her head against David's chest. Both of their eyes were screwed tight shut.
"Remind me why she's insisting she does this?" Snow mumbled.
"Because a motorbike can go faster than the cruiser and on different terrain like the forest. I'm considering making her be just the passenger after seeing the way she drives on that death-trap. Plus, I'm not. Particularly enjoying wood boy having his arms around her like that." Charming growled.
Many more turns and skids later and both Snow and David felt like Emma had aged them so much they might actually look like her parents. They were glad they had insisted on coming to see one of these lessons August was giving Emma. It convinced them they were right and this was a terrible idea.
Eventually, Emma came skidding to a halt in front of them. She and August hopped off the motorcycle. Emma whipped her helmet off, a massive grin spread over her face.
"What did you guys think?" She asked them. Emma seemed to be missing the horrified look on both their faces.
"We think we were right the first time you told us about this idea. This thing is an accident waiting to happen." David said firmly.
"Please don't worry, Your Highness." August said, coming and standing beside Emma. "I wouldn't put Emma in danger."
"I'm sure you said that twenty-eight years ago." Charming grumbled. Emma and August both pretended that they hadn't heard that.
"This will be a real relief for chases. It's so frustrating when a perp goes off road and we can't follow in the cruiser and we end up losing them." Emma said, pointing out the positives. "We'll get more criminals and villains off the streets this way."
"I've seen you and your dad both running, Em. If a perp goes off road you can just chase them on foot. I fail to see why you need to ride around on a motorbike to catch anybody." Snow tried to reason with her.
"I am positive we'll catch more people once I've got a motorbike license." Emma said confidently.
"I don't care how many more people we catch, Emma. I care more about your safety. If I'm being honest, I think this thing is far too dangerous." Charming said honestly. Emma rolled her eyes.
"Well, regardless, as the sheriff I've decided it's in the best interest of the station, and I'll be completing my lessons with August." Emma said firmly.
Snow and David knew they couldn't stop Emma. She might be their daughter, but she was also the sheriff, and a grown woman. That didn't mean they couldn't make the consequences clear to August. David stepped in front of August, a stern expression on his face.
"Let me make something very clear." He said quietly. "Emma is my daughter, and if she's insistent on taking these lessons I know there's nothing we can do. But you don't exactly have a great track record with keeping your word and looking after my little girl. This is your chance to make up for that. You mess up again and whatever injuries you sustains on this thing, I'll match. Understood?" David warned him. August gulped and nodded. Emma groaned and pressed her hand to her face. It was great having parents, but sometimes they could be so embarrassing.
