BPOV

I had just finished drying my hair after a shower when I heard Edward walk back into Alice's room. I realized that I had forgotten to take clothes in the bathroom with me and panicked momentarily at the thought of Edward seeing me in just a towel, but then I remembered that he had already seen me naked in my dream. Still, I blushed all over as I stepped out of the bathroom and right into his gaze.

His eyes instantly blackened and he smiled up at me from where he was sitting. He looked away, politely, but not before I saw him looking me up and down. If anyone else did that, I'd have been furious, but Edward's admiration caused me to giggle. "Oops. I forgot my clothes." I said as I went to pick something out from what Alice had bought me. I chose a pair of plain designer jeans that I'm sure costed more than I wanted to know and a simple long-sleeved dark grey tee shirt with a v neck that would show off my locket. I went back into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me, to dress and save Edward further embarrassment.

"Will you at least tell me where we're going today?" I asked once I was ready.

"Port Angeles. I have some errands to run and thought you would like to accompany me. For instance, I thought we'd pick out a bed for my room in case we get to have any more sleepovers."

"I'd like that." I said, reaching for Edward's hand to hold as we left the house. I said goodbye to Esme on the way out at a normal volume, knowing she'd hear.

We spent the drive to Port Angeles listening to some of our favorite music and just enjoying each other's company. If Edward saw me zone out, he'd reach for my hand and kiss it with a smile, barely taking his eyes off the road. He stopped at a small café on the way into town and got me some breakfast before we went bed shopping. We picked out a huge King-sized bed that I was sure was unnecessary, but Edward said that it was so we'd have plenty of room to stretch out. I didn't complain, I was still just so happy to have him home and to know without doubts that he was really mine. I went along with anything he wanted to do.

After the essential errand was done, Edward took me anywhere I wanted to go and spoiled me. Before, I would have felt guilty spending his money, but having spent some time in his head, I knew he was delighted for the opportunity to take care of me. We picked out some new books to read together, some CDs to listen to and some gifts for each member of the family to thank them for putting up with all the trouble we, I mean Edward, caused. He heard that, as relaxed as I was, and smiled at me, completely agreeing with me that it was all his fault, but happy that it was behind us never to happen again.

"I still have to buy Alice a Porsche for her help in all of this." He said with a laugh. "A yellow one she says."

I shook my head, smiling back at him. Of course, Alice would want something flashy. I was surprised she didn't ask him for a car in every color to coordinate with her outfits.

"You're right. I got off easy with just a yellow one." He said, still laughing at the thought.

Edward took me to a nice dinner at Bella Italia, the spot where we had our first "date." I was much more relaxed with him this time. After, we went on a scenic drive a little out of town. Edward parked the car at a small park and picked me up, running into the woods. In the past, I would have been afraid that he would hit a tree, or even sick from the motion, but I trusted both Edward and myself much more now and also knew what to expect. He stopped just shy of a massive old tree and put me on his back. He climbed to the top and sat us both in a large branch, promising me he wouldn't let me fall.

The view was breathtaking. The sun was just starting to set and there were so many vibrant colors to take in. There was a lake in the distance and the water was shimmering from the sun's reflected rays. It was still a little cold outside, but Edward had made sure I was well wrapped in a coat, scarf, etc. so I was comfortable. Edward was behind me on the branch, leaning against the tree trunk. He had his legs on either side of me and his arms around me. He laid his head on my shoulder.

"It is breathtaking." he agreed with my previous thought, "But nowhere near as much as you are." We sat in silence for a little while watching the sunset and the colors fade. When it was dark, he got us safely down from the tree and sat me on a large rock illuminated by the moonlight. I was puzzled when he didn't sit beside me, but instead started fidgeting nervously in front of me.

"Are you alright?" I asked, reaching for one of his hands to hold.

Edward smiled at me but couldn't seem to find the words he wanted to say. I took his hand in mine and held it to my face. "Show me if it's easier than telling me." He hesitated, but reached for my face as well, forming our connection.

I felt that he was completely in love with me, but he was also scared. When the words started coming in, I understood. Edward wanted to ask me to marry him, but he was terrified I'd say no. He was afraid I'd think it were too soon or remember my own parents' marriage. He was also worried how my dad would react, but he just couldn't wait to have me agree to be his. Edward didn't want me upset with him, but he couldn't help but want me as his wife. He had a lovely speech prepared about how much I completed him, but he thought I might prefer a simpler proposal. He had his mother's ring in his pocket.

There was no hesitation in my thoughts. Of course I'll marry you. I want nothing more than to be your wife and be with you forever.

With that, Edward used his free hand to pull a small box out of his pocket, careful not to break our connection. He opened it to show me a gorgeous ring with lots of smaller diamonds making up a larger oval shape. It's something I never would have picked for myself, but I absolutely loved it. Edward smiled and placed it on my finger, and then kissed it. I understood now why he kept kissing my hand in the car on the way here. He was daydreaming and hoping I'd accept.

Edward laughed at my analysis and smiled at me. I wasn't wrong. We kissed and shared our happiness back and forth through our physical touch, as well as our mental connection. We only released our hold on each other when it started getting colder and we knew we'd have to head home. I was engaged to Edward Cullen, the dream of nearly every girl and woman in Forks, and I couldn't be happier.
