Happy birthday mom
Pearsons asked for a oneshot of Charming remembering that it's his mother's birthday and talking to her as if she was still there. He thanks her for being the best mom and for the life of his children. He promises her that he'll tell them about their brave grandma.
David stood with his hands in his pockets, allowing the gentle breeze to wash over him. He always felt closer to his mother when he was out in nature. Even back home after she died he would journey to the meadow often to feel her presence. In Storybrooke, he had the old farm field. On the day that would have been her birthday, he got up early and headed out there, just wanting to feel close to her.
"Happy birthday, mother." He said, smiling. He always spoke as if she was really listening. Part of him felt like she truly was. "I miss you so much. It's great being back on a farm again. I'm getting to show Neal all the tricks you showed me. Oh you would have loved him so much, mother. He's such a little charmer already. Talk about a chip off the old block. I bet you would have doted on him, and he'd have loved it. Not that I think you would have treated his big sister any differently. She could have done with having you around after the curse broke. She needs a grandma's love in her life. She needs a lot of love in her life. You'd have loved her never say no attitude mother. She reminds me a lot of you." David paused for a moment, remembering the most painful thing. "I never would have had her or her brother if you didn't make the sacrifice you made. I will never be able to thank you enough. Both for being the best mother anyone could have asked for, and for the gift of my children. I'll make sure they both know about you, mother. About how brave you were." David allowed the breeze to embrace him once more. He closed his eyes briefly, and it almost felt like his mother was reaching out and touching his cheek. He smiled.
"Have a wonderful day. I love you." With that, David turned and walked home, thinking of which story to tell his children first.
