Hello everyone! Welcome to another branch in my mini FNAF fanverse! And what do I mean by that you may ask? Well! I mean that this is attached to my two other FNAF series, the Difference in Staying Alive and Living, and A Brother's Promise (Sister Location).

How is it connected you might ask? Oh, well this one takes place before the one about Leo (and Colt). This one takes place in the FNAF 2 location.

Will this one be connected to the main two, or will we hear about it? Yes, yes you will. Characters in here will be making appearances in the main series (Leo's).

If you have not read the other two, while I recommend it, for this story you don't technically have to. But this one will continue into those. Because of the fact that they will be connected, the updating schedule on this one will depend on where the others are at, due mainly to the fact that there is some stuff that is in this one that I don't want you to be finding out about yet. So, updating won't be as frequent. (Unless I get inspired and consider it alright to release the chapter)

(Warnings here, this fic I do plan on being a bit darker then the others, and the tones will also follow that, so, you have been warned.)

Anyways, I hope you guys will like this one as well!

I own nothing but my characters and story.

Prologue

"I just...I think you need a job, maybe something with kids? I think it would be good for you. Help you get your life back together." The suggestion only made him sigh. He rested his forehead against the glass wall before him, placing his free hand there as well.

"But...if I do...I just...I don't want to think about..." he trailed before swallowing thickly as a weight settled in his stomach at the words.

"I know, but you have always been happiest when you could make people smile. Listen, it can help you get structure back in your life. This can't continue. Shave, wash up and go apply for the job. I think it will be good for you." She finished softly, and he shifted in place glancing around him a moment before lifting his hand to his mouth and biting his nails.

"Okay...I...I can try."

"That's all I'm asking." He nodded to himself before taking a breath and shoving his hand into the deep pocket of his hoodie. He bounced his weight from foot to foot and took a breath glancing around again.

"I'm...I'm gonna get off the streets. Talk to you tomorrow?" He offered casting his eyes about the street, the brimming sunlight over the horizon was just starting to light the darkened night before it.

"Okay Ashford, I'll schedule in your call." She said, and he could almost see her writing it down in a notebook.

But he paused and shifted again on his feet looking at the ground, "it's...it's actually Blaze..." he countered quietly but there was another voice on her side, far away.

"What? Hun, go get on your shoes! You are going to be late!" She barked at the other person and Blaze worried his lip waiting quietly. "I'm sorry did you say something?" She asked voice louder as she turned back toward the phone speaker.

"It...it's not important, I'll talk to you tomorrow." He finished with a breath, he could almost hear her nod.

"Of course, now go off and get a job alright?" The man only gave a whispered 'okay' in response before the line clicked and the tone dial played.

With a breath he put the corded phone back on it's holder, and turned to exit the small transparent booth, only to wince and shut his eyes, using his arm as a shield as he waited for his eyes to adjust.

It took a moment or two before he was able to look around again. The sun was getting brighter, and he pulled up his hood as he exited the booth, letting the door thud shut behind him. For a beat he stood there glancing around the street before finally turning to look down at the messily written directions on his hand. He had to squint a bit and tilt his head before he was able to figure out where to go.

Looking up he pointed around before spotting the street and with the hood shadowing his eyes, Blaze made his way over to the street trying to steel himself.

It probably looked suspicious, sitting outside of a restaurant, but after he had washed up at the gas station and did his best to trim his beard he didn't have anything else to do and the place didn't open up until later on.

Behind him was a very large building, there seemed to be many rooms separate from the main one if his quick look around the building meant anything.

The parking lot before him was empty, and it was reaching near noon, which was expected for a mainly lunch and dinner restaurant to open up at.

Blaze sat on the curb, his arms folded over his knees and his chin resting upon them. He must've missed a few hairs because he felt them through his hoodie sleeves.

Luckily the first employee showed up quickly and Blaze quickly got to his feet, doing his best to dust off his clothes and kick the dirt off his shoes, it was a failed effort, but a effort nonetheless.

The man who got out of his car looked exhausted, his shoulders were hunched and he shut the door lazily. He wore a suit with no tie, and his briefcase was over his shoulder with his jacket.

Blaze waited quietly, his fingers fiddling as he held his hands before his chest. It didn't take the man long to notice him, only for him to jump back a hand to his chest.

"The *!" He snapped taking a deep breath and putting a hand on the roof of his car he leaned forward taking deep breaths. When he looked up at Blaze again he waved, trying to convey that he wasn't a threat. There was a beat before the older man waved back in return.

He adjusted his suit and straightened up before coming over and stopping in front of Blaze with a breath.

"Well, you are either the friendliest mugger in the world, or you are here for a job?" The man asked and Blaze took a breath adjusting in is place.

"Yes, I um...was told that you guys are hiring for waiters?" He asked offering a smile, the man looked him over and then took a breath.

"Have you been to jail?" Blaze shook his head, "yeah, well even if you had we don't care. When can you start?" The man was tying his tie as he spoke, Blaze straightened at the question.

"Today sir."

"Wonderful, you're hired. Come inside with me and we will get you fitted for a uniform." He looked over the younger man and took a breath, "also I have a razor you can borrow. Can't have a hack job shaved waiter." Instinctively Blaze's hand went to his face and he rubbed it brow furrowed.

"Right, of course, sorry sir."

The two of them headed into the building with Blaze trailing behind his new boss. They entered the building after the man unlocked the door and Blaze bore witness to the whole room. It was a main dining room that led to a hallway that likely led to the many rooms he had seen on the outside. There were three animatronics on stage, a brown bear, a blue rabbit, and a yellow chicken. The chicken was the only one who could be described as being in clothes. Her pelvis piece was a hot pink, and she wore a confetti bib on her chest. On the bib, in bold letters were the words, 'LET'S EAT!'. They were in bright colors with blushing cheeks on each of them. The rabbit had eyelashes, bright purple eyelids, a big red bow on his collar and a guitar in hand.

They were...interesting looking, cute wasn't the word, but creepy was a bit too far.

They were in a weird piece in the middle.

"Those are the animatronics, they are super high tech, criminal data-base and...whatever, anyways. You don't really need to mind them. Well...not them exactly, you do gotta worry about the kids getting handsy, we don't need a repeat of what happened to Mangle..." he took a breath, "anyways, the kids sometimes get a bit close, so just make sure they keep their hands to themselves. Normally this job is reserved for the day guard...but it's the end of the week, so I'm going to have to inform him he is switching to the night shift." That last part was more muttered but Blaze heard it all the same, he couldn't help but tear his gaze from the animatronics and to his new boss.

Maybe they had guards on a weekly tenure?

"Anyways, the job itself is pretty basic and stuff, just do as you're told and don't cause any trouble." At that the new waiter nodded.

"Of course sir, thank you for this opportunity." He smiled at him, but the man just grunted and went to go to his office. Blaze watched him go and opened his mouth to ask about the uniforms, but when the door slammed shut, he figured that it was not the best time.

Cast into silence in the currently darkened room, Blaze glanced around before pulling at the sleeves of his hoodie with a breath. He looked over at the animatronics and offered a bit of a smile.

"Guess we will be working with each other huh?" He paused before cracking a smile, "better not take my lunch in the fridge eh?"

For obvious reasons there was no response, he took a breath and pursed his lips before nodding and looking around then pointing in each direction before finally settling on the hallway. There had to be an employee area around here somewhere…

I hope you guys enjoyed the prologue!

What were your first impressions of Blaze? What of the manager? How do you think this will go? I'd love to hear what you think!
